I'm thinking the ballistic nylon. Looks pretty sweet. Have to feel it in hand first though. I'm wondering how much more the 64 gb will be off contract.
Undecided. I know what ballistic nylon feels like and I don't like it. It's a slippery material. I hope they managed to rubberize it somehow. I do want the 64gb phone, but that's no good to me if it's slipping out of my hands all the time.

Will probably end up going 64 but still not sure as I keep my phones very clutter free and don't take many videos.

If you calculate it out the 32gb is $25 per month, 25*24 would be $599.99 off contract, and the 64gb is $27 per month and would be $649.99 off contract.

I think I want 64gb so I'll probably get the ballistic, not that I think I'll love it, but the kevlar option doesn't look appealing.
Yeah that 64gb badge looks kinda lame. I wonder if they badge will be removable though? I doubt it's just stick on though. My hand will be covering that while I'm using it anyway so I guess no huge deal.

It almost looks like it's attached to the Droid logo too. So I doubt it's removable. I guess it's one way to tell the 32gb vs 64gb apart but....why do you need to?

Well it's just like car manufacturers. The higher end model you buy, the more badges it has specifying it haha. I think it is part of the droid logo though.
64GB version for sure.
how it "looks" is for girls. I dont care about pretty. I care about sexy. and 64gb with these specs is sexy.

Probably the ballistic nylon here. I have the woven black on my Moto X, and while I know they aren't the same, the back of my Moto X gets lots of smudges on it. The MGF looks similar in appearance to that, and I think the weave of the nylon looks pretty neat.
I probably won't get the 64gb just because I don't really have a need for it. But it will probably come down to price. If it's only $50 more, I might just do it anyway.
This is a tough decision between this and the Nexus 6. It's basically a smaller version with a bigger battery. I'd be more inclined to get this simply because of the battery.

Serious thanks on spotting this. I just did the fastest impulse buy ever and bought the exact phone I sent back during the penny trial that was too expensive. $324 out the door with CA tax for a 64GB bamboo, that is an insane deal on a great phone. Now I can give my N4 a well deserved break and not feel obligated to buy the X+1 on launch day. At this price the X is a no-brainer if you need a holdover until whatever comes out in the fall.

Well considering it is a pricing error, I wouldn't celebrate yet, but it's worth a try. They already charged my card so it's looking good though.
According to some guy who have a friend who is testing the X+1, ius supposed to have 5.2" 1080p in a compact body, OIS camera and 3GB ram and more software features. And will retail at $450. All speculation though. I could sell my OPO at that point to fund for it.

My card has been charged as well, although I'm fully expecting it to be canceled in the morning. I'd much rather wait to buy a new phone in November once all the new stuff is out, but my overheating N4 might have other ideas about lasting that long. It's times like this that I wish I had kept my old Photon as a backup, even if it was marooned on gingerbread.
I just ordered one. We'll see.

Yep I can vouch for the same was actually going to buy another if i could get the motomaker 64GB for $299.00 but its gone back up to 399.00 even with the wood back. :crying:

That case thing looks horrible lol. Completely ruins the beautiful look of the phone IMO.
It's the most premium looking phone I've owned, they really refined the design this time, I do not regret the size increase at all. I love how they keep the backside completely clean this. The only thing I wish they did differently is added a laser etching on the metal bumper that say: Made in USA.

Are you sure the new models are made in USA?
Motorola is shuttering the Texas plant and will make Moto X in China and Brazil.
Would be odd to see them retooling the factory to make the new models just to close it down in a couple of months.

Well not technically but it is assembled in US. The phone box say so, they are only closing down the Dallas plan in the end of this year. This phone it's last of it's breed.

Man. The ebony is either hit or miss, imo. I've seen a couple that looked nice and natural but the majority I've seen just look striped. I took a stab and ordered ebony but I'm thinking it's likely going back to swap with bamboo or a solid color.

You can send the phone back if you dont like it and have it rebuilt in a different way. You have to contact Motorola within like 24 hours or so of receiving shipment, though.

Pictures I've seen so far show no logo on all the nylon models. Just the MGF.
My guess is that the logos are embossed onto the MGF, but Verizon probably didn't bother to have a badge stamped out for the nylon models. Would probably cost too much to have it made than it's worth. The websites just show it for promotional purposes I suppose.

I just swung by the Verizon store near work on my break to see if they had one out on the floor yet and they didn't. Guy said they will on Thursday.
I thought I saw one, but it was just a red Droid Maxx. If the MGF is anything like the red back on that thing (slippery shiny plastic) there is no way I will get MGF. The texture on the nylon looks and probably feels sooooo much cooler. it sort of reminds me of the back of the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic Touch 4G (the longest, dumbest name for a phone ever) that my girlfriend had. It was neat because it was just enough texture to be unique, but not really distracting.

I am so freaking in on this beast!! 64 gig all the way. That will be plenty for me. I've made do with 32 gigs no problem. and the nylon one with that droid badge with a touch of read. This phone was made for me. I'm still a little shocked at the price for what they packed in this thing. What a steal!

This will be the first phone in a long time I will rock without a case of any kind. Feels to good in hand. Also can't bring myself to hind it! I will be getting a tempered glass screen protector just in case. The seller I got it from included a clear case that fits over the leather just in case I know i may be beating up the phone that day.

The smooth leather actually feels nicer than the pebbled leather. It's a little softer, whereas the pebbled colors are sort of plastic feeling.

Good choice this is the colour i'm most interested in. Not because i like red, in fact red stands out a bit too much and can attract attention.
But because it will look better than other colours as it ages. tan or black i can't see looking that good.
The smooth texture is a plus for grip. The gold buttons are a nice complement.
The other colour i like is the baby blue. Unusual colour to see in leather.

That's $35 a leather cover. I think fairly reasonable.
Does anybody know if I have an international H815 which US carrier model should I pick? Its either the Sprint or the rest of the US carriers.
What makes the Sprint ones unique? When selecting carrier, any carrier other than Sprint, and you click a case it says for Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile, US Cellular only. When you click Sprint as the carrier then select a color, it says for Sprint only.

July 1st they are $70 each (when you buy 2). And $70 for me as I only favor the orange one. So no, not reasonable. Not much of a sale either, I suppose that's why it lasts a whole month. Rumors had them in the 50-60 range. $70 was a bit shocking. I will wait for a price drop.
Less than 9 leather backs and you could've bought the phone outright...
I'd gladly pay $70 for some kind of color temp adjustment though - tested my display tonight with my colormunki and it's at 7900k... waaaaay too blue.

I was hoping to see a smooth brown leather. Like another couple of people here, I'll be keeping an eye on ebay for a less-expensive option.
If these had wireless charging built-in, I'd definitely get it. $70 for a non-QI back is insane.
Also, what is the point in selecting the carrier? Will it just apply that carriers branding? I'd rather have no Verizon or AT&T logo, is there anything on the T-Mobile backs?

I bought my red of eBay before LG put them up for 70. If you get one for 20 it will be thrid party and probably fake cheap leather.

I was wondering the same on NFC+Qi or just NFC, there is no information I can find on the site either way.
I can see carrier specific for ATT vs other versions if it does have wirless charging, due to PMA vs Qi.
The QuickCircle cases have Qi/NFC antennas, dont know why these LG backs wouldnt.
