Problems with S pen - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
The problem with my pen is that I need to press harder on the right corner of the screen to draw/open an app/drag a page etc etc , now the strange thing is that the pointer just works fine ( when I hover my pen over that area ).
Note; I press VERY gently on the screen when it happens.
I hope you can help me out with this.
I have a picture of the problem, but I cannot post it here since I don't have 10 posts sadly.
PS; Sorry for my bad English, I hope it is good enough to understand it.

Special "screen alignement" issue

Hello everyone,
I have a problem on my phone. It is not very bad but still I would like to now if someone else experienced it. So, maybe 1 times out of 3 on power on, a little band of the bottom of my screen is seen on the top of the screen. As soon as I switch on my phone, I can see that the red text with rom version is cut on its bottom, and I see some red things at the top of the screen. I thought it was the so called "screen alignement" issue, but it appears it is not the same at all (but still, I think that I may have a very little SA issue, barely noticeable). As I said it is not very annoying (like 2 mm of screen is involved), but in landscape mode, my scrolling bar is difficult to use (maybe half of it disappear).
So if anyone else has the same problem, or some explanation, he is welcome!
Thank you
Toni
Sorry for the double post, but I think I maybe found an answer in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321163
Everything is related to the connector of the screen. HTC can suck so much on some details like this... As I also have the d-pad problem, I think it must be that. Difficult to find the link at first sight!

Screen Alignment

Is it just me or does the screen alignment seem to be off a bit and you have to put a lot more pressure than you have to with the Wing ...............
My screen alignment is fine but what I notice is that in order to get a better response from the screen is to tap it with the middle of your finger instead of the tip. I no longer have to press hard as long as I do it with my finger print, middle part, of my finger.

Are you talking about opening up the keyboard (moving the screen?) Cause, yes, my wing was looser, but it wobbled from time to time.
If you mean touching the screen, the wing was definitely a harder press.
I noticed the alignment is off once in awhile. I press a link on a page and if its a list of links, a lot of times it will press the one above where i am hitting.
As for pressing harder then the Wing, when i try that it will scroll the screen instead of pressing what i wanted. But it depends on what Wing we are talking about too. My first Wing that i bought last year was more sensitive then the exchange Wing i got last month. So it could depend on the device that you have.
Because it's a capacitive screen, pressure shouldn't matter to it, just touching your finger should be enough. I think it's where it averages the center of your finger out to be. Some apps like Street View have a thing where if you touch and hold, you can drag a target around to help be more accurate, I think you can touch and hold on a link to see if it's the right one before you release and click it.
Yep it is off....but that's how it has 2 be cuz we have no stylus....some ppl have boney fingers...some ppl have huge mcdonald n burger king kinda fingers...lol. see this way u can press a spot n it'll get the link, or press more accurately without a stylus....a stylus is easier, but they wanted this 2 b on iphone level....so they stayed away from the stylus....wat I do is click my finger above where I want to press...like just over it...not directly on it...like the list thing mentioned above, I too used 2 click on the wrong thing...or use the trackball 2 highlight it, n click wit trackball....or zoom into the page and then click...I have multi touch so its easy...

Hardware buttons type

Sorry for asking to this quite stupid thing, but I can't find it anywhere.
Are front hardware buttons mechanical or touch type? It is quite important to me, because I have little bit weird fingers and touch buttons are not bothered by them...
Thanks for answers.
mechanical
Thanks a lot. And huh, I wrote that previous question in little stupid way . Thing is, touch buttons don't react to my fingers, so I can't use them on phones .

Weird Touchscreen behavour - Video Doku.

Hi, I'm a big fan of the HD2 but in the last two weeks, since i own this device, i'm getting confused by some screen imput behavour that i will present you.
I want to figure out if this "screenbugs" i have to fight with every day, are normal or a hardwaredefect. To make you guys an imagine of what i mean, i uploaded some youtube videos for each bug.
1. The first one i call: The painting edge
This bug is only present if i not have installed the less sensitive CAB from this forum.
Explaination:
Many of you have notice that the glass of the screen doesn't fit exactly in the case of the device. The right bottom of the glass protrude a very little. Then i lightly press on this position, the screen notice a press on the right top...as you can see in notes on my youtube video:
Video 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c49x9vB4bzQ
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beforce you say...my device doesn't having any of the following bugs, REMEMBER, This bugs are not present every second. Sometimes i can use the device for 30min without having some of this.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. The Electrocardiography
This bug, i think could be the reason for the following bugs.
Explaination: Trying to draw a straight line an you think you device will get a heart attack soon.
On the half of my second try you can see how the device suddenly works normal again.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t54m1dSLnV8
3. The shaking Screen
Explaination:
I have notice that some other guys have this bug too. You can see this on every scrollable screen, like opera, IE, zoomed pictures, the manila tab, startmenu...etc. etc.
Best seen on minute 0:54 in my video.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hIE_wV4djs
4.The non pressed key
Explaination:
You are cofused about keyboard reaction while writing a text message? You type an "a" and getting a "t"? Than you have "the non pressed key" bug how i call it.
you have to watch on some key input where my finger is totally out of range. I don't mean the fault input next to the key i pressed...
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B1GiyMp_O4
----------------------------------------------------------------
There is a fifth bug i didn't get on video yet because it is very rarely.
I had have this bug only 5-6 times since i own this device, but it sucks realy hard.
I call it
5. The self-typing keyboard
Explaination:
Then i'm typing some text sometimes the keyboard begins to typing without having the finger one the touchscreen. it can be have a duration of 5-10 seconds or 20 letters/numbers.
It can also be watched, without keyboardaction. Then the screen scrolls wild in any direction without any finger on screen.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fdXU8SoPTg from htcracer211
----------------------------------------------------------------
If someone can tell me if i can embed the youtube videos in this forum...
Go get a replacement, the screen is perfect. Although I admit it does not fit correctly but it is great. I only need the earpiece fix
please watch the videos before you comment anything...
...You're too much electrostatically charged...
...Or something of electrostatic is in the range of your device...
But it's like your touch panel is faulty. Get a replacement (warranty rules)
Have brought it back today...but couldn't get a replacement...no devices
tryed all your test and get no errors on screen, electro worked perfecly, keyboard keeps presing same key without leaving the range, and i cant notice any shaking effect.
So probably your screen is faulty , change your device as fast as you can matte
I have brought it already back, but it seems to be that others have all my listed bugs too. take a look at the poll results. On another forum a guy has tested the "painting edge" on 3 devices after he saw my video and all devices have this bug!!!!
Hey Guys,
I have the first 3 bugs on my HD2, too. But with BSB Tweaks 1.31 i solved the first 2 one by activating the option "Screen Sensitivity".
Hi,
If you look in the sticky thread here somewhere in the LEO section about tweaks and registry changes there is a topic on reducing the sensitivity of the screen.
I think what's happening here is the electric current in your fingers is playing havoc with the screen when your fingers are either close to or on the screen.
Let us know if this helps you.
WB
whow, that's a lot of problems for one device.
I have the "non pressed key issue" : (that's annoying as hell, typing a message is a heavy burden now) and the shakey screen. should i bring my handset back or try the tweaks... I didn't expect this from an 600€ handset

When i was made this video my finger was always with the same pressure on the touchscreen. It was not close...and not weak on screen...normal pressure. And you can see at the middle of my second try where i'm drawing lines in notes that the screen suddenly works normal.
I also wrote in my first thread, that this bug is not every second present...but then it's present its also the reason for some other input errors, like the "non pressed key" i think.
Quick question: How much pressure do you apply to the display (what is "normal"?)? Scince your display is reacting weird to pressure on the bottom right corner, any pressure might be linked to erroreous behavior. Do the shaking related errors remain when you don't press at allk?
to the OP: what ROM are you on ? have you tried 1.48 ?
I can recommende you to use screenprotector film and install cab for less sensitive.
But even without this all I had not this problem Looks like your sreen very sensitive for electrocharging and not have normal ground contact. This is way to warranty service.
lmao >.< sorry mate but get a replacement NOW!! I've never got these problems, everything works smooth and properly, sorry about that...
do u have a screen protector? i am wondering if the screen protector does anything bad to it...
You have the exact same problems I had when I first got my device, the main concern was the device having its own mind and making random key presses, even without you touching it or even being near it. I got my unit replaced and the new one works like a charm.
I noticed today that MY PERFECT SCREEN starting acting weird !!!! Its jittering !!! Damnnnn !!!!
I'm totally spooked by your video's!!!
I personally never experienced these bugs so I spend the last half our replicating your bugs.
The only thing I noticed was that Electrocardiography but I think you have your finger too flat on the screen (it has a too large surface area) because when I write on the screen as if my finger where a pencil (straight up instead of flat) the screen is working as it should!
I think you must have a faulty device. Perhaps try to flash it with 1.48 if you haven't done that already.

On iPhone with exactly the same finger it draws almost a precise straight line. This problem comes directly from HD2's screen, not from fingers, weather, humidity and so on.

The Ultimate solution for the ghost keyboard/wiggling screen/abnormal touchscreen

Guys ! listen to this carefully -- i have been looking everywhere in the forums , people have been complaning about the HD2 ghost keyboard/wiggling icons / wiggling screens/ faulty responses/ faulty notepad !
Many people came up with solutions like reducing senstivity by making registry changes or by Bsb Tweaks !
in the thread [REF] *Leo Hints, Tips and Registry Tweaks* - Updated 13th July 2010.
tboy2000 has given some useful information about using the keyboard and reducing its senstivity !
29. Tips to Improve Typing Accuracy on Keyboard
Tap each key very lightly and watch the keyboard as you type each letter. Don't watch the suggested words that pop up. Type at a moderate pace. Don't rush. Try the Align Screen option in the Settings/System/Screen menu. Don't press hard. Press as light as physically possible - barely touching the screen and wait at each crosshair until it moves. If you are right handed, for the middle and two right most crosshairs use your right thumb and for the left two most crosshairs use your left thumb. If you were holding the phone with both hands and wanted to touch something on the extreme left of screen you would use your left thumb would you? Also, turn on Spell Correction in Touch Input options and turn off vibration for keys too!
Finally the following cab decreases the sensitivity on the keyboard allowing for less mistakes. Really works. A life saver.
http://rapidshare.com/files/30889673...hScreen_v2.cab (Cab to decrease sensitivity) or go here for cab http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=430
http://rapidshare.com/files/30827317...n_original.cab (Cab to restore default settings of keyboard)
But it does work for some ! and not for many others because this is a hardware fault - the touchscreen is faulty ! many of the intital hd2's were manufactured with the faulty touchscreen - as the result we got a messed up keyboard !
very useful info has been given by dontcryjustfly in his thread with all the errors demonstrated by videos --- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=595655
By checking out google ! youtube ! many other sites - the conclusion is the hardware fault which cannot be fixed by any soft mod or any other senstivity reducing software ! the touchscreen shows abnormality ! many of the intitial hd2 had this problem ..ie defective touchscreen...and some people say that that the screen is super sensitive! but that is wrong !
Best solution is to get the screen replaced under warranty and if its not under warranty search ebay or amazon for the hd2 digitizer and replace the screen yourself !
sorry for using so much space ! but many people are posting waste threads everyday regarding the keyboard and touchscreen ! i just wanted to post a thread to give the ANS and solution to the problem! please lock and pin this thread ! so that people dont ask about this problem again !
These are the same problems im having. thanks for the advice
