I am facing more issues than issues after getting ****kat update.. Main problem is battery drainage....it sucks
Ain't you guys tired?
Your own fault for not unlocking BL at .10.
Just disable some apps, use less apps yourself and bear with it. Or swap to some other phone.

I have unlocked bootloader man -_-.
If you're unlocked, why are you complaining? Downgrade, load a custom ROM, or tweak the stock ROM so you're not having these issues. Your complaint is moot at this point since you're unlocked.

Yeah, you can. There's a pinned post by @ATTACK in the general forum. In it is a link on how to downgrade.

I thought you were one of the guys who recently posted a wave of BL unlocking questions. So if you had your BL unlocked, just follow the thread in General section to downgrade to any stock JB version you want. Or just flash a custom ROM anyway because stock sucks big time.

I have found by disabling the google now feature my battery is a lot better. I did a factory reset and the battery was great, enabled the google now a few days later and battery drain started again. Disabled it a couple days later and I'm back to being pretty good.

Where from I can disable this thing?
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, click the 3 dots then go to settings. At the top is a button to turn off/on.

Hi,
First time post, I've had a search through the forums but haven't been able to find anything related, hopefully someone knows how to help though.
I turned on my Nexus 4 the other day and the date setting has somehow changed. As you can see in the screenshots, the last 2 numbers are the date and the first number seemingly just goes up by 1 each day. I've tried to change the date settings several times but nothing has changed. Is anyone else having the same problem?
My Lightflow app also stopped working at the same time, it won't open despite uninstalling and reinstalling. I would imagine these are unrelated but you never know.
Thanks in advance for any responses!

More information would be helpful. Are you rooted, have custom ROMs, custom kernel?

Ah, sorry. Nope, not rooted or anything like that. Just on standard Android 4.2.2

Looks like a software bug. Try flashing the stock images again and it should fix this problem. Try using carbon to do a backup first if you want to keep data.

I have the exact same issue - Stock JB 4.2.2 but am rooted. Happened suddenly last week - can't figure out how to revert this.
Any luck so far?
I'm super excited that it finally came in the mail. Whats the first thing I should do to, or with it?
Don't be shy you guys, throw some ideas at me.
For a root, I'm thinking cm10.1 (Should I leave the kernal or change it?)
Best nexus 4 feature? Or any cool things about the phone that would take me a month to figure out on my own?

I'd recommend leaving stock rom, unlock, root, and install franco kernel. Go into settings, about phone, repeatedly tap Android version, and a smiling jellybean will pop up.

I unlocked it. Thank you for suggesting the franco kernel. I think I read somewhere that the franco kernel with cm10 was brilliant. I would leave it stock, but I feel like I've gotten to know the phone quite well already lol. I haven't played the jelly bean game yet btw. Good tip.
Definitely throw on Franco's kernel. If you also get his kernel updater app, I would recommend changing your screen gamma settings to match this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39012344#post39012344. I brought down the red a little bit because I like my colors to be a little cooler . I personally think this is the way our screen colors should have been calibrated all along as it looks so much better.
AW: [Q] Just got my Nexus4!!!
But with that Kernel I wont recieve OTA updates anymore right ?! So how to update later ?

check the battery life, and download some games to check its performance, and also in taking pics or audio. anyway, just the respect you are concerned.
post in the correct section
First thing is download the factory image from Google so you have it to hand should you need to go back to stock. Also make sure you know adb/fastboot commands and don't use toolkits (they're for the lazy). Make sure you understand how to reboot the unit should something go wrong and generally read every guide you can on here before doing anything

Finally, some good advice. I'd also recommend creating a nandroid in recovery BEFORE flashing anything. It might be a good idea to save a copy on your computer. Could save you some hassle later.

I should have took your advice. I bricked my phone :/
In my defense it was at 6 in the morning after a long and stressful night at work. Very depressing.
Also, would you mind if I stole your signature? lol

anybody knows what this wakelock is?
its always keeping my phone awake for 3 to 5 hours when im not using it
its killing my battery life, because my phone is practically unable to sleep

i do know it, i have been investigating about it without much success.
Mainly i can make it dissapear for half day if i use WIFI, once wifi is enabled the wake lock dissapears when i stop using wifi or do an experiment with it.
but somehow the error comes back once in a while, after a reboot, or after charging it.
no kernel fix it, no Rom fix it, im putting my hopes on CM

i removed fast dormancy and ril-fd is no more (im on crash rom atm where i found a cooked setting to turn off FD).
so this might be related to fast dormancy, i dont want to root this phone yet for certain reasons so i might try switching carriers, maybe it'll help

there are pre-rooted stock roms which are not supposed to increase the flash counter.
And i confirmed it, i toggled FD and the wakelockappeared, changed roms and tried that again, and the WL dissapeared.
But still my battery life sucks though, getting a honami when its out.

honami is the code name for the i1(naming confirmation pending from sony, will be disclosed at IFA or so we hope).
after A LOT of hate which went throught the phone, i updated the arrow rom to 5.1, deactivated FD, and nothing,i was getting 10% in 3 hours, for some reason i dont remember i rebooted the phone, and the darn phone still have the same charge from yesterday te phone have 24 hours of uptime (taking in account i have done some serious undervolt to the phone). i was getting about an hour per % an a half with hangouts and whatsapp freezed and in NO use or just checking the bat.
Not bad but too much work to have a "regulary updated" phone to work properly.
now i dont even know what will happen when i recharge the phone again what kind of behaivor will have this darn non-optimized phone I'll be reporting what happens.

It's largely the same. As in, pretty good. I have used the original EUR 10B, then subsequently 10E and 10F.
Most of the battery issues are down to Apps misbehaving and old Google services.
One thing 10E and 10F did improve on was the FM Radio - these later ROMs have later Broadcom drivers.
Kernel is dated later than 10B kernel, but no difference.
For interest, I did a direct comparison between Eur 10B and EUR 10E here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582892 - loads of "changes" but not much in terms of functionality.
Thanks! I'm desperately trying to find a way to improve battery life without disabling knock on. I refuse to believe it's the culprit.

Yes. It worked on Firekat v9 flashed with TWRP. I had to disable wannam battery to get rid of double icon, but it worked no problem.
Edit: If anyone wants to posts successes it would probably help others.

Not sure if it'll even work on CM, but its a battery icon changing mod with a ton of different designs. Click the link for more info.
It doesn't work on Darth stalker. No change in battery icon.
It's there a way to remove this mod?
