Stock unrooted D80210a getting approx 5 hours of usage. Will 10f improve this?
EDIT: My apologies for posting in the wrong place. Please move it - and I'm sorry once again.
I'm only on 210a, update tool doesn't find 210f. How come? EU version

It's largely the same. As in, pretty good. I have used the original EUR 10B, then subsequently 10E and 10F.
Most of the battery issues are down to Apps misbehaving and old Google services.
One thing 10E and 10F did improve on was the FM Radio - these later ROMs have later Broadcom drivers.
Kernel is dated later than 10B kernel, but no difference.
For interest, I did a direct comparison between Eur 10B and EUR 10E here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582892 - loads of "changes" but not much in terms of functionality.
Thanks! I'm desperately trying to find a way to improve battery life without disabling knock on. I refuse to believe it's the culprit.

Firstly how did you come to that conclusion?
Secondly, how do you know that process isn't doing a lot of needed work? After all, Dalvik drains a huge amount of battery too. Without it though, the phone is pointless..

I have 0 but battery life is normal. Just because the bar is full, it doesn't even indicate that it took much power. You might have other factors to consider for the poor battery life.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Ive come to the conclusion because:
Once the process didnt show up and i had like double battery life.
The proceess also doesnt show up on every sgs, and ppl who got the process r also complaing about battery life (most of them)
I believe it has something to do with rootinga

Process 0 is a normal system process. Nothing to get worried about.

STOP BUMPING THIS! It's damned annoying.
Secondly, it may be caused by a broken application, or something else. The best way to learn more is to run proper tests. Remember, a few guys might "have this problem", but that doesn't mean the firmware is faulty. There are also people here who are saying that there is no GPS problem, and that Google Maps/MyTracks is faulty. Just because someone says something, doesn't mean it's accurate.
Process 0 may be sucking up your battery life, but if you want to solve the mystery, spend your time running tests to isolate what causes it, don't spend your time bumping a thread. .

Have you test to flash the rom after backing up your data ?
Maybe this could solve the problem !
Because bumping and bumping is simply useless !!
In fact, I have just tried. A full reflash, repartition on Odin using DXJPE firmware (latest SEA firmware).
Without rooting, or any apps being installed or any custom kernel, '0' process was seen active immediately after the first reboot.
Pretty much we can assume it is a designated Android process.
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere 2.2.1 hides system processes like "0" in settings, they're still there, just not shown. You can see their stats in spare parts though/

It's one of the older updates i guess so the battery life should ideally be an issue and a lot worse than 4.1.1.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The 4.1.2 BTU update for the UK is XXDMB2 , its PDA is N7100XXDMB2, this makes it a bit behind XXDMB4.

I would. You might get lower battery life for a while, but this has the SDS fix in it as far as I know, and I'd MUCH rather be protected from my device turning into a paperweight than just running low on juice...
And sure, I could use a custom ROM, but I happen to like the stock ones. Serves all my needs perfectly.

Some guys attribute the increased battery use to the media scanner which runs randomly and drains the battery life
Also i believe that the screen brightness at max setting had been increased to like 300% of what it was in 4.1.1

The 4.1.1 ROM's have a critical bug that can cause your device to randomly just die, for no apparent reason, and it's not fixable once it happens. You'd have to return it to Samsung. This is the SDS bug, Sudden Death Syndrome.
The 4.1.2 ROM's have a fix for this, as do pretty much all the custom ROM's as well.
Personally, I'd much rather have reduced battery life and relief from the worry that my device could just randomly die.
Can you please post the modem version to this update.

Thanks for the info, i'm certain that is what happened to my phone. I was on 4.1.1 stock uk rom. Its been fixed by samsung now, just waiting for it to be sent back, they said they replaced system board. Be interesting to see if they have updated to 4.1.2 for me.
Stock G2, AT&T. Running KitKat latest update.
Since KK arrived, I've had major battery drain by bluetooth. I leave bluetooth off, but it is always the highest power user in standby. Anyone else have this, or know how to fix it?

the way I see Bluetooth is now like wifi even when it's off it's on but since it's in a low energy state it really shouldn't be draining your battery I've easily gotten 15+ hours while actually using the Bluetooth to play games with my moga controller and using my deck

Maybe Phone Carrier
I think it's maybe related to your carrier too. They change something in the ROM to make compatible with network then release to your phone. For International and Korean Version is ok. But can you try to reset, if the problem still exist?
I have sprint and have been dealing with same issue since kk update. I don't even use bluetooth, always off, but yet saying keep awake 5hrs on a battery cycle.
I only experience it when I have wifi on at the same time, its weird.
From my experience on my phone, it's just a wrong reporting. Even with BT allegedly draining according to the battery stats, my battery life is still the same as before.

Anytime I check battery, android system is usually using 30- 40% battery with at least 35 packages listed for it. Also very little keep awake time, under 10 minutes. Is this normal? This is on 4.2.2 rooted. Thanks.

no It's not normal, I have the same problem. Still didn't found a solution.
P.S. - noticed that the weather widget is updating constantly, even update period is set to 3 or more hours
- removed the widget and the "android system" is still ~40% of the battery even higher than the screen

You need to rename the apk files in /system/app for it. Depends who your carrier is.

I have 2 batteries. One gave me overheats, even though the battery itself is not bulged.
One totally no issues at all.
Same phone, same ROM, same setup, same etc.
You can give it a try. But then again, I might be wrong.
Technical issues can arises from a lot of factors anyway.
I will try, thank you so much for your reply

Try the old modem, the one you didn't have any issues. Otherwise it's samsung's crappy update.
Can i go back to that modem?? No risk?? I changed the csc, changed the sim, changed the carrier, changed 3 batteries... still blowing fire, 80c om the cpu... many times when i use my data plan

The only risk is signal issues.
So because of the modem i have the heating problems??

I may also be related to the lollipop update. Since you did mention that it didn't happen on kitkat. It only started happening since moving to lollipop. So it may also be the update. Go back to kitkat or change to a custom rom and see if it helps.
I tried all, just all custom roms with lolli
