Wifi/Bluetooth conflict - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So Modern combat 4 works great on my moga pro, until I go online, where there are delays and missed commands. Any tweaks to make things a bit more responsive?

Right Joypad swiping needs to be fixed- Will minecraft do it differently?

I'm not trying to be negative. I Just want to talk about the swiping issue on this phones joypad.
I am looking forward to seeing Minecraft come to Xperia play, I love what xperia play has done for gamers so far.
I have an xplay and have been extremely upset about the right joyPAD on a number of games. I've been hoping that notch will make it work better in his game.
Unfortunately after watching a pretty official video I can tell that he did NOT create a solution for Minecraft on xperia play. I'm talking about a solution for the amount of swiping you need to do to the right joystick.
Look at the you tube video called 'Minecraft gameplay on Xperia PLAY'
I'll point out the amazing Gameloft shooters like nova 2, rainbow six and modern combat.
In these games the LEFT joyPAD DOES NOT act the same as the right joyPad and that is a huge issue. A lot of people have issues with this.
With the LEFT joypad you can constantly strafe or move forwards/backwards without taking your thumb off. The right joypad is the opposite, you have to swipe over and over to make your character do a full turn.
YES you can change sensitivity but when you are millimetre away from a head shot and you try to correct you will over correct. Nova 2 does a good job at auto aim but that is not good enough.
At first I thought that this was just overlooked by the designers but it’s so obvious that they must have made the decision to stick with swiping and not give any option.
It’s not hard to get used to swiping but it’s still dumb. I won’t say games are unplayable but they become un-enjoyable. I payed for Gameloft games and I can see how good the quality is...I just wish I could play them and get excited about them. I wish they would patch the controls.
I am still hoping notch will fix the swiping issue or at least give an option. I have a really hard time believing that it’s the hardware or the right Joypad can’t be reprogrammed.
I’m an indie designer and just want the best for games and the future of games.
I really hope someone working on minecraft reads this.
Please write your personal opinion on the swiping issue I described. I think gamers need to speak up in order to get this changed or fixed in the future.
I totaly agree , all games right analogue pad are not accurate and poor implementation, only one thats ok is backstab and dungeon defenders second wave that make good use of it
Check out this thread on rainbow six

"the right joyPAD DOES NOT act the same as the right joyPad"
...what?
In a multiplayer game where phones that have no control pad exists.... You think it's fair to "fix" the right pad!? You already have the advantage.....anymore would make the other players not play multi cuz you'll be owning more
Sent from my XPlay using XDA App.
In Modern Combat 2 at least you can the control scheme to "Virtual Sticks" and both pads will behave as the left one does. It's pretty bad though, I found the left as analog, right as swipey works much better.
I think that's more a problem with their implementation though as Battle Bears -1 has the right pad as analog and it's pretty good. Battle Bears doesn't really require precision though so that might be the difference.
sry zerojay , you are right, that didnt make sense,, I edited my post now
I played battlefield and the Right joypad was working properly. No swiping needed.
The joypads are still crappy though

Request/Idea for XPlay touchpads.

Seeing the varying like/dislike, hate/love getting around for the xperia plays touchpads i was wondering if a driver could be developed to allow you to modify the behaviour of the touchpads, lets say u have an app that can adjust the deadzones, where the extreme min max values are placed on the pads themselves, how sensitive they are, etc etc.
if this stuff is taken care of by the apps using the touchpads generally, then would an interface layer to modify the behavior be workable? it seems the experience varies alot between games and having a modifiable global profile for the touchpad might push them from meh to awesome.
as an additional, perhaps have a way to assign a portion of the screen(or the whole thing) to be mirrored to the touchpads, eg draw a rectangle around the n64 analog stick and map it to one of the touchpads and have the input mirrored via the touchpad-almost universal control for all apps.
anyways, this may have been brought up already, but now that we have all this great custom rom stuff, getting these touchpads to be amazing seems like a good idea to me. i understand theres alot of dev work here and would be interested in hearing others thoughts about it.
I like your ideas. Would be nice. Lets ask a dev....
Bump.
Most games are near unplayable without deadzones. Can you imagine how awesome Modern Combat 3 would be with deadzones?
Sadly, the touchpads don't work like that, they aren't really virtual joysticks, they actually behave like the touchpads on your notebooks. Which means that it's up to the app in question to decide what to do with the input.

[Q] Tricking Gameloft games into thinking Nexus 7 is a high-end device

Gameloft games (unfortunately) treat our nexus 7 as mid-end to low-end device. This can be seen in Asphalt 7 (missing car reflections, environment looks like crap), NOVA 3 (no smoke, no particles, no "heat" from gun after shooting) and others.
I know on older phones simply installing chainfire would trick these games into thinking they are running on some high-end device; however, as chainfire does not work for us, do you guys know of any alternative way to get the full graphics we deserve?
They need to optimise for tegra. I have tried a few hings but no luck.

If you look at nova 3 for instance, I'm afraid those high end settings would slow the game to a crawl at times. Even now it gets choppy sometimes.
Like leelaa said, they seem to be completely ignoring the tegra crowd, even while all other devs are catching up and catering to this rapidly expanding platform.
I know the framerate is not perfect, but I would still like to experience the full potential of the games. Hopefully a solution will appear soon.
update: I think I managed to worsen the NOVA 3 graphics using this build.prop values:
ro.product.model=SPH-L710
ro.product.brand=samsung
ro.product.name=d2spr
ro.product.device=d2spr
any idea what are Samsung Galaxy S3 values (the exynos version)? Maybe that will enable the full graphics!

Anyone getting asphalt 8 on their droid razr m

If so share the experience if their any lags or great performance would be gladly appreciated.
Team DROID
I've got Asphalt 8 on my M running CM10.1
I do see some occasional frame skips when using max graphical settings, but medium settings provide a great visual and gameplay experience. I actually prefer playing this on my XT907 compared to a Nexus 7.

A thread I have much interest in! Yea I have Asphalt 8 and it is a bit framey on high but not enough to impede playing. Running Eclipse V5b3 w/ arrrghhh kernel at 1.89/96 Smartassv2 sio.
Only game I get the mad drops/skips fps is Nova 3. Wish it had some graphical settings because that game is BOSS, with the exception of the controller lag using MOGA Pro.
Speaking of which, anyone with a MOGA Pro and Asphalt 8 notice that the steering is way too tight compared to the tilt controls? I can throw my cars around sideways without drift using the tilt but with my MOGA Pro its near impossible to make the slightest turns even at full sensitivity and the stick all the way left or right. Even the d-pad doesn't turn well. You'd thing the controller would be easier to use but...

Gaming performance?

I've been looking at this as my next tablet, it sounds different and I like the note taking capabilities (having been a Galaxy Note user for years). I don't really game very much if I'm being honest, but I don't like the idea of spending quite a bit of cash on a tablet that's particularly slow. I've trawled around for Geekbench 4 scores and it's coming back at around 1100 single-core and 3100 multi-core.. I can live with that, it's ~3x faster than the Nexus 7 that I'm using at the moment and compared to my Note 4 it's 10-20% faster. Compared to say the Pixel C, which was the other tablet I was considering, it's a bit slower in single-core and about the same in multi-core benches. However, that doesn't really give me much of an idea about gaming. As I already said, I don't really do much gaming, and it's unlikely that I'll do anything much more taxing than Candy Crush, but I don't want to buy something that is overly slow in the first place.
To anybody that has a Yoga Book, what games have you run on it? How has it performed and how does it stack up against any of your other devices?
Cheers in advance.

As for Windows 10 version goes:
- Hearthstone - running fine
- Terrarian - running fine
- Armello - fine on low/medium details
- Portal 2 - running fine on medium/high details
- Torchlight 2 - generally ok-ish but slows down significantly with more effects/mobs
- Mirror's Edge - slideshow even on lowest details
The issue with Windows version & games is that Halo keyboard has issues (see here) so if you are going for windows version, get external keyboard or game pad.
Cheers for that, good to get some actual real world feedback. I'm likely to go for the Android version over the Windows one, however if you can run actual 3D games that were aimed at fully fledged PCs only a few years ago, then I should hopefully be ok running Angry Birds
Anybody else tried something like Real Racing 3 or Goat Simulator or *something* that is to Android devices what Crysis was to PCs?
Hello
I just got the Android version. I have also been wondering about gaming performance. I have been looking around for some information regarding the performance. It seems that the CPU part is comparable to the Snapdragon 810 and the GPU is comparable to the Snapdragon 800. I don't think the GPU part is as bad as it sounds, because most devices using a more powerful GPU's, is also using a higher resolution. But i tried a few games out to see if it run them.
Games:
Modern Combat 5 - OK
N.O.V.A 3 - OK
Riptide GP Renegade - Ok - At default setting (High) but the game suggests lower settings. But the highest settings is made for the Nvidia Shield tv.
Limbo - OK
Colin MCRae rally 2 OK (But you get a warning about possible performance issues. But i didn't notice any)
Newer Alone - OK (It didn't show up in the Playstore, so i installed the game from my cell phone)
Lost Journey - OK
Rayman Adventures - Not OK (Stops before you can play)
Rayman Fiesta Run - OK
Rush Rally 2 - OK
Virtua Tennis (Sega) - OK
Field Runners 2 - OK
Robo Defense - OK
Sonic 4 Episode 1 - Not Ok ( Runs in slowmotion)
Sonic 4 Episode 2 -Ok
Deus Ex The Fall - OK
Crazy Taxi Classic - Not OK ( Hangs while loading)
Wings - OK
Leo's Fortune - OK
Monument Valley - OK
R-type 1 & 2 - OK
Raiden - OK
Minecraft PE - OK
Super Soccer Champs - OK
Emulators:
Amiga 500 - OK (UAE4Arm - IK+ and Pinball dreams Using the Keyboard)
Commodore 64 - OK (C64.emu)
Arcade - OK (Mame4droid 0.139 and FBA4droid - CPS 3, Neo geo and more)
Nes - OK (Nes.emu)
NEC Pcengine - OK (PCE.emu)
Sega Megadrive - OK (MD.emu)
Dreamcast - OK But not all games will run well. But that the way it is with most devices (Raicast)
Playstation 1 - OK - (EPSXE)
Snes - OK (Snes9xEX+)
GBA - Ok (My Boy)
Quake3 - OK (Q3-touch)
Doom - OK (D-touch)
PSP - OK But not all games will run well. But that the way it is with most devices (PPSSPP)
Half Life / Counter Strike - OK (Xash / CS16Client)
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
To add to the Windows 10 version, TESIV Oblivion (and by extension, Morrowind) run fine on medium settings with the view distance still far away.

The nVidia Shield exclusive Strike Suit Zero plays remarkably well. Unfortunately the game doesn't listen to the halo keyboard, but it does have controller and touchscreen support.
Hi! I have a Lenovo Yoga book Android version and I cant run ppsspp emulator, It stopped before I can open it. How can I fix this
Try downloading and older version from official website.
I had the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition before I got the Yoga Book.
I play:
XCOM: EW Graphics are awesome compared to the Note
Star Wars: KOTOR Same as above
Block Fortress War Same as above
Hitman Sniper Same as above
Games not working right.
Block Fortress Everything is inverted
Call of Duty Strike Team It loads to the main menu but I can't get pass the campaign load screen.
I'm also hesitant between Galaxy Tab s3 and Android version of Yoga Book. I mainly read and brows plus I play Unkilled multiplayer regularly . Does the Yoga handle smoothly Unkilled, Dead Trigger 2 etc. I'm coming from the excellent Galaxy Note 2014 /still in use but now with terrible Chinese battery which somehow makes the software act strangely/ . I'm considering Yoga Book cause it will save me money for Xperia XA1. I am on the budget and trying to maximize the utility.

Yoga Book is a great replacement for the Note 10.1 2014. I had shattered the screen on my Note. It is well worth the price new, even though I got it used for half the price.
How will this tablet work for mail, browsing and social media? And compared to the Galaxy tab 3?

Having the Halo Keyboard is great. Being able to have floating windows is nice.
Can you run warframe?
I´d like to know if someone has tried on the Windows version League of Legends and Medieval II Total war, and how is the performance on those games. Thanks.
Curious if the Windows version would be able to run Minecraft mods (through Technic Launcher, Twitch, etc.) and games on Steam like Stardew Valley, Nier: Automata, DanganRonpa, etc.
Not expecting phenomenal results, but if it runs at least Stardew and light Minecraft mods relatively comfortably, then I'd be happy.

how about this:
Team fortress 2
Elders Scroll Oblivion
Starcraft
Counter Strike Source
Day of Defeat Source
etc, etc
Lenovo Yoga tablet on windows is a must-have device if you are always on the go and need an office machine always to be around. It is small and compact and would fit in a tiny bag. The advantage of having a windows version instead of android is because you have a fully equipped office machine and on android, you are a bit limited to the system therefore on windows you can do whatever you want to. Also, I was curious if anyone on this forum plays cs go as I do. A few hours ago I bought a legendary knife and wanted to ask if this knife is worth something if someone knows the game. Thanks in advance!
