Hey guys.!
Recently I broke the LCD of my nvidia tegra note tablet. The outer glass is just fine but the inside LCD has been broken due to the tablet being kept under heave weight. I live in India where a local mobile manufacturer XOLO markets the tegra note for Nvidia. The service centre after keeping the tablet for nearly a month asked me to collect it back in the same broken condition as they couldn't arrange for a spare LCD. NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. The tablet cost me a good Rs. 15000(nearly $250). Can I get the LCD from anywhere? Do all the tablets feature the same LCD or is the LCD screen exclusively available for separate devices. Any help or suggestion would be life saving.

If you bought it from filpkart tell them that you are being denied the after-sales support .. I assume its less than a year for your warranty..
and press for the refund.

Mine was having a defected GPS and got myself a replacement.. dont loose hope.. its selling under 10k nowadays. costly repair isnt worth it.
# adb backup -all -obb -apk -system -f all.obb.system.TN7
before giving it for replacement..so that you can recover all of your stuff.
The Smae is going down with me as well
My Xolo Tegra Note's touch pad got damaged.
The LCD is fine, just the touch isn't working anymore, it's cracked.
The service center ****ers kept it for one and a half months and are now returning me the tablet back.
Touch Screen is supposedly a very common part to get damaged, aren't they supposed to keep it in stock.
What did you do with you tablet?
Did you try to get it repaired in the local market?
Please reply in need of urgent help.
It's been less than 6 months for the tablet.

I tried to get my screen repaired at the local smartphone repair place, and the were not able to find parts for it. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Dont know how it happened. There is no physical damage so maybe htc will replace it. I wonder if i should flash my phone back to stock before i send it in, that is if the will fix it.

I'd recommend flashing back to stock before sending it in, just to be on the safe side.
I also wouldn't expect them to fix it, as they'll call it physical damage, and not a factory defect.
You might just be able to find a cheap battery cover on ebay to replace that one. It would work since the volume rocker is contained in the battery cover
yea i got lucky 2 years ago and sent my htc tilt in because the usb connector was broken. it took a few calls to find someone that would fix it for free. Hope i get lucky again.
Definitely qualifies as physical damage...
Don't send it in. Go to an ACTUAL sprint store and ask for a new battery back. Hell, if you call customer care they might even send you a new battery back, but you're guaranteed to get one in store.
No muss, no fuss, they'll just hand one over. Service & repair stores will have better odds of having one for you.
Htc support was no help and sprint was no help. Im definitely getting insurance on my next phone and beating the hell out of it and keep getting replacements. Luckily the product manager that i talked to 2 years ago on the phone still works there and sent me a spare one that he had.
Has any one else had issues with that rocker? I wouldn't be surprised if this had happened more often. It feel flimsy to me. I am always afraid Ill break it when I pull the battery.
Flexte, did you do as I told you? I simply cannot imagine that you went to an actual sprint store and they turned you away.
jesus, is the damn phone all cheap plastic? we have broke volume buttons, dust under our lcd's and paint chipping on the end buttons. id call these pretty serious defects. did htc do a rush job on these for sprint? this keeps up im looking into a more solid built phone despite loving the hero. im also on my 2nd phone becuase of the dust collection.
yea an sprint store but mostly service and repair would have given you a new battery back. i have people come in to my store couple times looking for chargers and stuff. on a side note ive had my phone since before launch goes in and out of my pocket and i alwayssss hit the end call button, and my phones in perfect condition lol.
Hello,
I changed the housing of my HD and throw the broken one away. I was not aware that there some tiny parts that did not come with the spare part - so now I need this tiny silver metal/alu grid which is in front of the speaker on the top of the phone.
Where can I get one? Or do you have any other idea, what I could place there in order to avoid that dirt comes in?
Thanks!
Get a bit of fine stainless mesh from a hardware store or engineering supplier, maybe even an electronic shop.
You could also try a tiny bit of foam glued in there, just have to make sure what ever you use, it isn't touching the speaker driver
Well, all of this doesn't work that well. Are there any other ideas?
Or is it possible to purchase this part somewhere?
Or do you know, how this part is called in English? So that I can search a bit...
yes you could fashion a new one out, lucky its not part of the light sensor, but only sits beside it.
shame too, In my guide I have a specific photo showing not to forget to perform that task (much like not forgetting to reattach the camera when reassembling)

the easiest way to describe it in english is front speaker mesh
you could maybe get one from a mobile repair shop if they have any dead blackstones if you're lucky.
edit: I call it in my thread "front speaker piece grill" but i think that mesh is a better way if describing the part
Thank you!
Well, unfortunately, I have not seen your replacement guide before, in that case I would have been aware of that part.
Do you, or someone else, know some mobile repair shops that repair dead blackstones? Well, I phone HTC Germany and they connected me to Arvato, the shop which officially repairs HTC phones in Germany. But in contrast to HTC, they said they are not allowed to send out spare parts. But I could send it it and they repair it for around 150 Euros (!) for this tiny mesh! Unbelievable...
Look around for small business mobile repair shops, go visit them in person, and discuss with the persons there that you are technical and can competently repair your phone and that you would like to source parts but not pay for their labor.
thats what I did, if you have any markets, its a good place to find these sorts of repair shops which have people who are kind enough to sell parts without obligatory labor and labor charges.
Ok, I contacted every HTC repair shop I found on the Internet from around the world. Most of them did not answer and the others don't have this part.
Do you have a repair shop around? If so, could you give me some email adresses so that I can contact them?
I just had the same problem... I didn't know the new screen with come with the speak mesh... now i have no idea where to get one.
I see qwertylesh is from Melbourne... I am from Melbourne too. Can you please tell me how you repaired yours qwertylesh... thank you.
So, anyway. I dropped my brand new S4 two days after getting it. Had not gotten my case yet so it bit the dust in a big way.
Hit on the corner JUST right so that the cracks spiderwebbed the whole screen.:crying:

Called AT&T to find out just how crappy and worthless their insurance is - $6.99 a month buys you the privilege of paying a $199 deductible to get anything out of them.
Oh well, glad my company had not wasted the money on that BS! And I will make sure we never do pay for that.
Ordered a glass replacement kit from Amazon THIS ONE and it comes with literally everything you need but a blow dryer/heat gun. It even comes with enough double-sided tape to do about 20 phones
Watched a number of YouTube videos to see how it is done and finally found one that did not show a complete dismantling of the phone (which I suspected was overkill anyway unless you are replacing digitizer) and went that route.
It was a long and difficult process (about 2 hours total), but I did manage to get through it OK. Until the end.
I was so excited to be almost finished and so anxious to get the new glass on that I did not look carefully enough at the glass before putting it on.
Since this aftermarket glass had no "Samsung" name on it, I accidentally put the damn thing on backwards!
So the menu and back buttons are swapped (no biggie since I know which is which without looking) and the front camera is covered up with black.
I figure it is not the end of the world since I NEVER use the front camera anyway and I am sure I will need to replace it again eventually so I will correct it then.
So, any of you who have broken their glass - go ahead and do the replacement yourself. If even someone as clumsy and retarded as I am can do it, screw it up and still make it work, I figure ANYONE CAN.
At least I provided my wife with something to laugh at and a funny story to tell her friends at work.
Thanks for telling the story sir. The first picture of the broken display is bone-freezing !
What about the proximity sensor adn light sensor for the auto brightness? Aren't those also disabled?

Excellent observation!
Probably so, just haven't noticed I guess. I may have to go ahead and get another piece of glass and redo it sooner rather than later.
Of course it will be a lot easier with none of that UV bonded adhesive to hack through this time. If I thought I could get the existing one off without breaking I would probably try it right away.
Hi everyone
ones, i had a problem with my Z1C, it was water damaged
i replaced some brocken parts
after that my phone started working great
but i notticed that the battery was draning too fast
i replaced it twice!!
but it still drans fast!!!
so i supossed that due to the watter damage there would be a problem with the mother bord that is eating all the battery
so i used a cleaning product for electronic parts
but since i didn't remove the screen and as you may know, the mother bord is attached to the screen
the product did infeltrate bitween the screen and the digitizer
and now the screen is all foggy
do any one have a solution please!!! :'( :'(
( and also the battery draining fast problem is still there!! :'( )
PS : Sorry for my english
I would buy a new display on ebay. It costs almost nothing and it is ridiculously easy to change it yourself if you follow a video guide on youtube.

also i'm from Algeria (north africa)
there is no ebay shipping here!!!
I recently replaced my screen. It is very easy. Just follow the following guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz02qEIP3vU, and you can't go wrong.
Just be very careful to position the screen correctly before pushing down on the adhesive. I unfortunately cracked my first screen because I didn't align the screen correctly and it cracked when I was pushing down - the screen can be very delicate. The second screen I applied flawlessly but also with a tempered glass screen protector as I didn't want to risk cracking it again.
I purchased this one: www.ebay.com.au/itm/171772963783. Only $30 US. The tempered glassed screen protector is only like $1.

Thanx
i'll consider geting a new screen if i don't find any other solution
thanx again :good:
Out of nowhere I got one line. Then a few weeks later another and now there are 3!
Anyone else experienced this and do you know the cause/fix?
Problem is I bought my phone (G935F) through eGlobal in China. I had faith in Samsung as I never had any issues with their products. Now that I ended up with my first faulty product, I am faced with sending it back to China. Unless Samsung UK will cover the warranty...No idea how it works.

Yeah same problem the LCD is coming loose I bet if you push down hard towards the top of phone by the "G" in Samsung under the ear piece it will go away. Have you dropped it out day on it? Either but parts on Amazon and learn the repair or pay hefty to have it done at a shop. I'd honestly first off putting a heat gun on it while there's added pressure and see if it will re glue it self. I had a bunch of lines on mine and it cleared up a lot but unfortunately not all lines. Good luck
Thanks for the reply. Yes, one of the lines go away if I press in exactly that spot.
I'm not brave enough to start a DIY repair - since it's under warranty, I don't see why I would have to pay anything. It was never dropped - I cherish it like my life depends on it!

Download a pixel filter from the playstore to prevent any new ones from appearing especially useful for phones that have screens on for a great length of time helps safe battery and screen quality.

Too late. Today the screen completely died. Phone works fine (I can take calls), but screen is just black.
Went to the Samsung help centre and they said I need to send it back to the seller (not a UK model).
So back to china at my own expense - or bite the bullet and pay for the fix, but I have no idea what that might be
Gutted....
Its a faulty screen. exactly same happened to me. first the lines then screen completely died. Had to rush to Samsung service centre. They had to change the whole screen. Luckily mine was in warranty so got the screen changed free of cost. All the best !
