Hi everyone,
I had been running LiquidSmooth 3.1 for several weeks with great results. I thought I would try something else for fun, and flashed a Google Edition ROM by Danvdh. It was not to my liking and I quickly went back to LiquidSmooth - however now I am finding I have very poor signal strength. I no longer receive signal in my garage, or at work, or even in my living room where this was previously never an issue. Right now I am sitting at my computer beside a large window, and I have LTE connection. By the time I have finished typing this post, I have no connection
I have now upgraded to LiquidSmooth 3.2 but the issue remains. I will lose my connection to Rogers and when I go to Mobile Network Settings > Network Operators it only sometimes finds a connection.
Is there any way I can test my antenna or flash a Rogers/Canada modem that might help with this?
Well this is interesting...let me provide some background info.
A few weeks back I broke the screen on my S4. I purchased a screen replacement on ebay for $120, but it was for an i9500 which has a few very small differences, and required taking an xacto knife to some plastic moulding to accommodate some different IC clearance. That worked great, but I noticed that my screen was constantly black when on a phone call - as if my proximity sensor was always detecting 'near'. Sure enough, I used an app to confirm this - and this is common after screen replacements with non-OEM screens. A fix for this is to put a small strip of electrical tape between the two proximity sensors so they can better detect a 'difference'. Put the phone together, and this worked great, my phone now properly detected proximity, I felt like a champion, so I wanted to flash a new ROM.........now read post 1.
I've attached a screen recording I took of it just dropping connection...and reconnecting, almost flickering in and out. It seems to average about -120dbm (10%), but I'm not sure whats normal. It seems to drop connection around -130dbm.
I've been able to flash a new modem I337MVFLUFNI2 but my issue still exists. Is it possible that I physically damaged parts of the antenna when replacing the screen? I am very confident working with electronics and there doesn't seem to be any physical damage that I can see
When using Danvdh GPE rom you have to manually select LTE from access point menu. Did you do this?
---------- Post added at 09:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:11 PM ----------
I would suggest you flash back to stock fw to your current boot loader. Of its mdj current then flash back to mdj stock via Odin. You have a miss match of hardware and perhaps a mismatch of uuids is your issue?
---------- Post added at 09:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 PM ----------
Then re-upgrade just modem. Be Sir to do this all with aim card out and no WiFi or else when on stock you may auto upgrade to Knox boot loader !

That sounds like a great idea. I found this thread that says my default would be I337MVLUEMK6 (is this my bootloader version?) . I went to samsung updates and found my phone the SGH-I337M with the MK6 and am downloading it currently. Will this flash my bootloader/ROM/everything back to stock? Or will I have to find a stock ROM as well?
I have selected LTE from my APN menu.
Attached are a couple screenshots of the Network Signal Info app I downloaded which has been a great resource. You can see that at some points I jump from great signal to no signal, almost instantly. I believe that this might be due to something that happened when I swapped my screen - perhaps a grounding issue of some sort....researching how to troubleshoot this as well.
Thanks for stopping by my thread :highfive:

First of all, sorry for my english, as i'm typing this on my pc, that does not have auto correct.
I was a proud owner of a nexus 4 since a while back. I bought a nexus 5 and gave my N4 to my father. Before i give it to him, i installed the factory image 5.0.2. It worked fine for 1 week and then the trouble began.
He complained with me that he was without signal during the day. I went to check and although it showed full signal most of the time, he as unable to send or receive text or calls.
I went on a hunt for the problem. The firts thing i've done was changing the radio modes. In 2g only, it works just fine. Calls, text and data work fine.
On WCDMA only none of this works, Sometimes it even shows signal and all, but it rarely can receive or make calls. Almost never works.
I changed basebands, tried all the ones. Changed the android version and even tried with ubuntu touch. The result is the same. The only way that you can trust the fone is in GSM only.
Nothing special occured with the N4 in his ownership. Didin't drawned the phone, didnt throw him on the ground. nothing.
It's impossible to even sell the phone this way.
So, my friends, any of you has seen something similar to this behaviour ? Some of you have any tips for me ?
I saw that there is a antenna module alongside the speaker, but i don't know if it's really relevant to this case.
Also gps works, bluetooth and wifi.
Any help will be welcome.

Why don't you simply factory reset it and do all the OTAs?
Ive tried, but the problem persists,no matter what Android version or baseband version

I can't seem to find an answer...I tried posting on the JDC Team thread but it goes so fast, I think it has been passed over.
I am having a problem with Bluetooth. Within the last couple days (not sure when it actually happened) I can no longer activate the Bluetooth toggle. When I try it, it thinks for a second or two and then nothing...if I reboot and try and activate it, it moves to the on position but within 10 seconds it switches back off.
Is this a new problem? What is weird is on my wife's phone it is working fine. I am using the jflte version of the Optimized CM 12.1 by JDC Team..
If this is a known problem, please advise what I can do to fix as I want to be able to use the Bluetooth in the car.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. My bluetooth was perfect and fine with touchwiz 4.4.2 GNG8 rom. Now with CM12.1 "optimized" is not usable at all.
I still need to find any alternative rom because it's a big issue for me.

I reasearched a bit on this topic.
I flashed XXUHOD7 bootloader and modem and now bluetooth it's not crashing anymore:

I'll try it with my helmet headset tomorrow and I'll let you know.
Did you fix your Bluetooth with the new bootloader and modem?

I had a similar problem where I would try and turn on my bluetooth, and it would immediately switch off, almost like it couldn't find the hardware.
I fixed it by disabling System Profiles in Settings. The currently active profile said "turn bluetooth off", which I think was disabling it. Rebooted with no profiles and bluetooth seems to be fine.
On stockfirmware the flashlight and also the flash didn't work most of the time (battery >90%).
Only sometimes when connected to the powersupply it works.
When it works and I switch on the flashlight with connected powersupply and then I disconnect the powersupply, the flashlight is still on and can't be switched off.
First I have to connect the powersupply again and then I can switch off the flashlight.
I allready did a complete wipe, but it won't be better.
Same here, flashlight works most of the time tho, but flashlight on camera never works, it´s grayed out.
Did you report the bug?

feel free to jump in there and post something yourself, the more people the better
I have noticed that the flash would only work if you use "Automatic" mode. In all other modes, the flash is greyed out.

I reported the excel-calendar-bug.
I'm a bit frustrated, because it seems nothing happens
Over a week without any update, but more and more bugs are reported, and the company/support doesn't give any feedback or even react on emails or reply on the cyanogen-community-board
It's really sad, because I think it could be really a great device, but it seems ZUK doesn't have any type of support.
If soon nothing happens, I will send it back and this was my first and last try with this company.
Anyone with the solution of camera flashlight.
Hi guys,
My GPS is not working so much well, at all.
I'm on NuclearROM right now but I'm kind sure that the problem was there also with other roms and ZUI as well.
If I use the GPS on High Precision mode apps like gpmas or PokemonGO manage to recognize my position, but It's not a live tracking, It updates the position every tot seconds and the result is like a huge jump of position, not a tracking. (I can suppose that the phone use only wifi/3g to track my position?"
If I use the only GPS mode apps can't recognize my position, at all, gmaps and PokemonGO don't know where I am.
So... Anyone had this issue? Is my GPS broken or what?
Thanks.

Hi,
Since I updated my nexus 6p to 7.1.1 I experiencing a lot of network drops and call issues.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Not at all. What baseband version is showing in settings? angler-03.78 is the current baseband. Other than that, confirm your APN profile is the same as it was before you had issues.
3.78 here, and same APN.
The problem still persist after reflashing the stock firmware (trough flashfire)

Yes, I've had several connectivity issues regarding LTE. Multiple instances of getting the "LTE" logo showing pretty good signal strength but with the little "x" next to it showing there is no actual connection.
I've also had some calling weirdness where I try to take an in coming call but other person can't hear me. When I try to call them back it goes straight from "dialing" to hangup right away.
I sideloaded the 7.1.1 update and I'm on Verizon so I'm not terribly surprised there are some issues. I don't have any fixes or suggestions, just letting you know you're not alone
Haha thanks, I'm in Israeli carrier so if it a carrier related issues, it's a big problem for me.
Can we use an older modem?

Nope that might cause bootloops
I have the same problem.. After a fresh reboot first few minutes the phone just drops and connects to signal all the time. Can't even make a 10 second call (sometimes it manages to get call started and then just cuts off as it drops signal). Then after a few minutes phone shows full signal all the time but it cant make/recieve a call(it says number not available)... tried everything that I could on software level so I guess its something wrong with the antenna in my phone. I'm taking it back to the shop where I bought it from for a repair.

Some people on Verizon in the Cortex ROM thread reported that flashing radio 3.75 fixed their connectivity issues. I didn't have this issue and am using the latest radio so I have no personal experience with this fix.

Some people in Cortex Rom thread had similar issues and reported that flashing radio 3.75 fixed the problem. Cortex ROM is stock based so if it didn't cause a boot loop for them it probably won't cause one for you--but that might depend on the ROM you are running and whether or not your bootloader is locked. I'm running the latest radio so I can't personally vouch for this as a fix.

Appreciate it. Unless you can flash just the radio with the bootloader locked it's gonna be a no go for me. Had to unroot, relock, and go back to straight outta the box stock when I got hired at my new company.
