hi everybody !
I need a working EAP-SIM auth on wifi. So i modified wpa_supplicant.conf, like described here but it doesn't work. I found that the problem seems to be that the version of wpa_supplicant (0.6.x) in many Roms doesn't support EAP-SIM (I'm on Cyanogenmod 7.2). I would like to know if its possible to upgrade wpa_supplicant to 0.8 or patch it. If it's not possible is there a rom out there where wpa_supplicant v0.8 is implemented. It seems to work with freemobile stock rom S5360XXLK3_S5360FRELI1_S5360XXLK3_HOME, but i'd like to stay on AOSP Rom's.
Sorry for my bad english.

Hi, I want to modify rilphone.dll and I've been looking for a ROM that has certs patched (I'm too much of n00b to patch nk.exe) and I notice a lot of them have bugs (GPS won't work etc.).
I would really appreciate it if someone could point me to a wm6.1 rom with certs disabled and has very minor bugs or no bugs at all(preferably with a link to post/download).
Thanks
AdHoc wifi support in this build I am using FutureShocks MIUI ₪ v.0.3.12 ~at the moment , because it seems 2 be that 2 enable adhox wifi is just a miui thing or is ther a way to fix that ?
There is this thread that fixes the problem by patching the wpa_supplicant binary, and provides a compiled one to put on your android, but the mentioned file doesn't even exist on Sense ( and if ,...hmm i did not even know how 2 fix it on my own )
i am looking for connecting my HD2 with the Internet connection of my laptop,
and i use a free little program called Connectify( works great but , unfortunately it doesn't support my laptops intel wifi module) the laptop wifi appear as if it is an AdHoc network and no Access Point , is ther a way 2 get adhoc working ?
so does anyone know how 2 get adhoc working in all the other great androidbuilds out ther , for the hd2
even thats a stupid question , pleas let me know , and give me a hint how to fix that , so i can use alle the other builds with adhoc , that would be great
( sorry about the english)
hmm nobody knows hä?
is no big deal, i allready found out , thats one major
problem with android , oki .. but why does the ad-hoc works in android miui builds ???? ( i would so glad , if someone knows why and would cheer his knowleg about it )
i did not found it out yet , but i found out that is ther a patch/ fix for it
but only android 2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754961
or her they explain how 2 do it , but we need root for it
http://exop.pro/blog/2010/08/15/ad-hoc-support-for-android/
this seems 2 be the only way 2 get ad-hoc working or stick 2 a android miui
build ( thats what i do , i testet a lot of android builds and they are all realy great but dont support adhoc )
Hi guys,
as you know, Android doesn't like ad-hoc wifi networks.
I tried out the hack suggested by blackplatipus but it doesn't work with my device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754961
I have Huawei Ideos U8150 with Froyo 2.2.
Is there a kind developer that can tell me what I have to change into the wpa_supplicant to get it work?
I attach the original /system/bin/wpa_supplicant take into my android.
Thanks,
Andrea
Do you have the ability to edit that type of file? I have my original wpa_supplicant and a modified version that gave me access to ADHOC networks (and the market). Normally, I'll load them both into Meld and see what needed to be changed on yours, but it looks like they'd have to be decompiled and recompiled (Meld says they are binary), so I don't know where to go from there. I'd be happy to post the files though, if it would help.
Billy
EDIT - sorry, I should have made it clear... this is on a different Froyo tablet (eLocity A7).

the IDEOS U8150 use the 0.6.10 wpa_supplicant, and I have tried the 0.6.X hack but it doesn't work also.
Hello all,
I have the same device U8150 and I am really interested in connecting to ad-hoc networks, does anyone managed to make it work?
(I downloaded a patch here but since the ideos use the 0.6.10 wpa_supplicant, I guess it will not work with that patch, right?)
Thanks in advance

I do not have Huawei Ideos U8150 but I did have a similar problem with my Samsung Transform (Froyo 2.2) which also uses 0.6.10 wpa_supplicant. I used blackplatypus's wpa_supplicant modified file for 0.6.X version but it didn't work. As a test, I tried his original v0.5.x and it worked! My suggestion is to try both.
[req] wpa_supplicant .6.1 for froyo 2.2.1 to enable ad hoc
Isnt this already in doc's kitchen?
Sent from my I9000m using xda app

there is not a special version for 2.2.1 ! i used the old version ( froyo 2.2 ) on 2.2.1 jpx rom . it works flawlessly
there is a special versoin.. at least the version number changed.. 2.2 is.6.0 2.2.1 is .6.1
goto terminal emulator rooted and run
wpa_supplicant -v
Have you seen this: hxxp://szym.net/2010/12/adhoc-wifi-in-android/ ?
I haven't tried this method but it may be useful somehow.

not sure but on my stock jpy it is .6.1 and i'd rather stick with a modified version of the same one.. rather than trying to guess that that is the issue if later on something isnt working.

Hi Guys,
Got myself one of those AR Drones, so keen to get this up and running
Applied the 6.1 version to my phone and it just reboots constantly, so I gave up!
Anyone got an updated version?
i use a 2.3.3 origin NS, and has rooted.
but if i put 6.1 wpa_supp to phone, it won't find any wifi for me.
so i roll back to origin.....
i searched for wap_supp, always 0.6.10, with
MD5: 0B726E45AF6E90BC442A9AF5A9642472
SHA1: 5581981584E2C64DF3471AAC1E61EAFCCAE77748
i tried to edit conf file in data/misc/wifi, no use.
so what can i do next?
wpa_suuplicant for Android 2.2.1 (Samsung Galaxy POP)
I have used the above wpa_supplicant file. It shows the available ad hoc networks but when I want to connect then it displays..."Obtaining IP address and then disconnected." Sometime it automatically turned off the wifi connection.
Please help me. I am in the middle of the sea.
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone!
I wanted to ask someone who knows and is accustomed to porting roms might bring a rom type ICS or Jelly Bean for the U8800 (not pro).
But in a special way, I have had problems on all roms because of the wi-fi, the one where the wi-fi works is the Xperia Style and opened the zip and found that there was one thing that none of the other roms had - one folder to say wifi.
I wanted to ask someone who can make or bring a folder with the rom that has wifi and wpa this rom, because I think so now will give wifi ...
(I used Google Translator)

Different ROMs have different way to load and run wifi. Doing what you say is possible through the source code, but it is a lengthy process; modifying all of the wifi configuration files.

But if someone did it when ported the Xperia Style, why don't do the same for another rom like CyanogenMod or other?
Can you send me a link to find some roms of Honor?
I would like to try to port one rom from it
