Is there a way to switch the display signal strength meter from showing 4G LTE to regular voice signal?

This is the link on how to switch the signal meter to show voice strength instead of 4g data strength. This worked great on my old EVO 4g LTE....but the Note 4 doesn't seem to have the same file structure and therefore I am unable to get this to work...any Devs out there what to look into this....That would be AWESOME!!!!

Hello All,
I just recently purchased the AT&T nexus one and I just want to make sure my understanding of my question is correct or not. I have noticed that when I am at my house and if I have 3g enabled the signal bars next to the 3g icon are somewhere between 2-4 bars and are always fluctuating, But if i enable the option for use only 2G networks obviously the H or 3g icon disappear and the EDGE icon shows up but the signal strength is at a full 5 bars all the time not fluctuating. It was my understanding that the signal strength bars were completely seperate from the 3g or 2g icons. I thought that the signal strength bars represent my cell signal and whatever icon showed up was the data coverage in the area but they aren't related? Is this correct or is it that the signal strength bars represent the signal of the 3g or 2g?
The signal strength bar represents the 2g or3g signal strength.
Both of you are correct. To make calls or text the signal bars are need to use data the icons are needed.
But you don't make calls on 3g or edge. So I don't understand why the signal strength bars are lower when on 3g as opposed to edge unless its wat the first Guy said. And that doesn't seem correct cause that's basically saying my cell service is worse and I would have a higher chance of getting dropped or no calls at all when I am on 3g as opposed to edge.
not sure about your networks but on every other 3G network you make both call and data,,,

A couple of notes here:
- All you're seeing here is that 3G service is weaker than 2G/EDGE service at your house. Perhaps there are more EDGE towers around you than 3G-enabled towers, or EDGE runs on a lower frequency such as 850MHz that penetrates through walls better.
- If your 3G service completely drops out, you should fall back to EDGE during the call. There shouldn't be any interruption, but there's a small chance that the call will drop when this happens.
The latter happens to me on TMO all the time if I go into weak 3G, and I've never had a dropped call or issue because of it - so really, as long as you have solid EDGE service, phone calls shouldn't be a problem for you. Note that when you fall back to EDGE, you can't use data while on the call, but if you're still on 3G, it's possible to do so. You can of course combat by this by just using wifi.
Now, on the other hand, AT&T's 3G network is overloaded in some markets, so you may have a dropped call because of that - but that's a different issue altogether.
gsvnet thanks a lot! Cleared up everything I was wondering.
How have people been fairing with this?
So far from work, my connection appears iffy at best. I can turn off and on the 4g to get one or two successful page requests through. I have a Clear Wimaxx Spot that I use at the same location (that I turn off before activating 4g on phone) with no connection issues. Also, my 4g only reports 1 bar. My distance from the tower is < .5 miles. I'll post an update when I try it from home.
Anybody know how to check 4G signal strength (other than generic bar readout) from the device? I've seen the signal strength in "about phone" area but am guessing it's dedicated to 3G - I could be wrong.
I'm hoping to drop my Clear Spot but so far, doesn't look like that's going to happen.
The hotspot app has worked great for me in 3G mode, but there's no 4G coverage here to try with that.
I'm also having the same issue. I'm in an area with excellent 4G coverage, but only getting 1 bar. Earlier I was getting spammed "4G has been disconnected" in the notification bar. I had to restart the phone to fix the issue.
Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G™
I've been getting the 4g disconnected message also.
I'm using a clear spot which should be running off of the same tower. I consistently get their best reception (throttled at 600kbps) from the same location. I've tried turning it off in case it's getting in the way already if anyone is wondering.
My 4G icon on the Epic typically reads from 0-1 bar. I'm under .5 miles and my entire area reads "indoor" 4g on sprints map.
I couldn't find any information on the strength of the 4g radio in this thing. If anyone has that info I'd appreciate it. I believe Samsung touts it as being 20% more connective than other devices...but that might just be 3g.
Hi, I am located in the downtown of a city with 4g enabled and I can turn it on and with a speed test confirm 4g is turned on (3Mb down). When I connect I get about 3 bars and can surf some web pages but it always eventually gives me "4g disconnected" I haven't been able to complete any download over 10ish megabytes on 4g because 4g disconnects and the download fails. i might call the sprint store later, but it seems like this would be software fixable.
I recently flash my HTC Evo with CM7 RC2 and love it so far minus one major issue....The 4g & 3g signal strengths are weak compared to the Sense Rom. Everytime I connect my 4g wimax connection the signal drops off within 10-15 minutes and I have both 3g & 4g icons running. The only way I've found to reset the 4g wimax connection is to reboot the phone completely but even after that the signal continues to drop off...I was hoping I could use ##3282# to adjust the Wimax settings to give the signals a boost but that doesn't seem to work with this dialer. Rebooting is very frustating so I'm hoping this is a known issue and someone has advice on a work around to fix this...I know I can't be the only one so please please post any helpful tips!
Thanks in advance
I have a Verizon 3G indoor signal booster made by Samsung. My GNex would connect to it just fine but my G2 doesn't see it at all. Anyone in the same boat?
My bad. It actually works just fine. LG has a separate icon for the signal booster unlike my GNex with the base rom, where it would replace the regular 3g signal meter with the signal booster meter. On the G2, it's an additional icon on the top. This G2 it's so awesome. So this phone tells me the wireless strength, the normal 3g/4g signal strength, and it tells me the signal booster strength.
I realize this is a longshot, but I pretty much have 1-2 bars of LTE and 4-5 bars of HSPA+ everywhere. The issue is the signal meter always shows the LTE signal strength, so I have no idea how many HSPA+ bars I have at a given location , which gives me no indication of how reliable my phone calls are going to be.
To give an example, I could be stareing at my phone with Zero or 1 bars of LTE, and as soon as I recieve a phone call it switches to HSPA+ display and it has full bars.
I actually disable LTE completely because seeing 1 bar all the time as my signal just annoys the heck out of me. It would be nice if i could have 2 signal meters or some other workaround...

Just leave it on LTE. Whether LTE or H+, your signal strength for calls remains the same. You've only got one data connection, so multiple meters wouldn't be possible anyway. A better indication is your dBm/ASU numbers. You can find apps/widgets that display this information without having to go into your settings.
