I tried to downgrade my rooted firmware from 511070220 to 510058520. After reboot I get a lockscreen. Anyone know how to fix this?
Only pressing the option key brings me to the regular menu.

You might need to do a factory reset.

Are you rooted? Are you on Stock Rooted ROM? OR Non Rooted? If you don't know these words and reading them first time..type no.
Is your N4 rooted ?

With no root, the only way to get rid of this bootloop is to factory reset, you can do it in recovery by pressing volume down + power at the same time, then you choose Recovery with the volume button. BUT you will loose everything ( pics, apps, etc. ).
But I hope that someone can give you another solution less "destructive".

Can he do a back up using ADB and then do a partial restoration after a factory reset?
Will adb backup work if the phone's not booting? .. I know that adb works when in a bootloop, but in the guide it shows a prompt to enter some encryption password ... I summon android wizards to answer this ...

adb works with no os. that's how CM installer installs CM11 through usb (ADB) even when the phone can only enter recovery

You could remote wipe it if you have a google account connected to it.
I don't think it requires any other action except the phone having an internet connection.
By flashing a stock firmware and select a .pit file and check repartition. You have to know what you are doing though.
Or boot into the recovery, look for a screenshot of the recovery on google and try to factory reset it using the buttons.
Yes but that would be fairly trial and error.

Unfortunately the phone wasn't set up for android device manager as device administrator so can't use this function.
Also the screen doesn't turn on, so can't use the buttons for doing a hard reset through recovery

You can. But you have to estimate by using pictures of the stock recovery.

Google images? "S4 stock recovery" as search terms?
It's very strange
Since switching back to stock lollipop firmware from a custom rom, I'm continuously seeing this message "Unauthorised actions have been detected" in my notification bar. When I open it, it takes me to smart manager where I've got an option of reboot. After rebooting it takes me to TWRP, nothing else happens after TWRP opens.
Any fix for that?

TWRP may be the cause of this. Or root, if present.

But if I delete this system app, would I lose another function too? I mean does this app lead to another system function like SystemUI and other system apps do?
Sorry for bad English.

Hmm yes I'm thinking to go for android 4.3 now rather then 5.0.1.
Depending on the model of you phone, I'm not sure if you can downgrade to 4.3 from 5.01. If you can't, Odin should not flash the ROM.

Is to delete every entries Knox-related from init.rc on the ramdisk. But it only reported to work on i9500, since I'm doing the same on SM-J200G some of them still report this one.

On latest ASF3 software (SM-G975F) for a week or so, all of a sudden I'm getting the "Google keeps Stopping" pop up and none of my google apps will open.
I tried all the clear cache, disabling, and uninstalling recent updates. Nothing works.
Any help appreciated!
