Yo folks,
short question: Is it possible to dualboot the Note 3 N9005? I would like to try a few new roms without touching my currently used one...I guess it's not because i bet i would have found something. But maybe i am blind...
thx in advance
cheers
P.S.: here get a potatoe http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0cD6Os0hWwA/SeV_fR09yLI/AAAAAAAAACQ/PID9SqO4jGU/s320/Potato.jpg
You dont ant to touch a rom but you may need to touch a bootloader to support dual boot
I know of at least one working method for the N9005. To the average flasher, I wouldn't recommend using it. If it bricks your phone, I'm innocent. That said, to answer your question: see Safestrap.
Forget safestrap {its sh1t, xou cannot have AOSP and toucheiz st the same time)
Use Dual Boot Patcher (if it does not work, use the Galaxy S4 patch, worked like a charm for me with CM official nightly and xnote 18)

What was your Partition size? Its smaller than the S4 on the Note 3
And wondering what you were left to play with?
100 - 200 MB free?

No. You need need root.
Since this is a Framework you need to install you have to root I'm afraid. It's not that hard and quite easy if you follow instructions carefully!

Well, there are several explanations towards the lag thing. It might have something to do with the actual ROM itself. Did you try another ROM? Did you try another Kernel? There are tons of solutions on this subject.
If you ever want to flash a custom ROM on your Note 3 I would highly recommend the X-Note (available for the N9005 and some other versions) .

Yes, all the S Pen features exists. What really makes the ROM different is the speed and battery life. You get the Xposed Framework preinstalled as well which adds tons of modification features. Head over to the thread and you'll see all the features it provides.
File size limit for sending by MMS is ridiculously small, is there any mods for it? My phone is not rooted at this moment but because of this i need it to get done for sure... So guys what can i do after rooting - apply some mod or custom rom?

Guys please when you are suggesting some rom - try to include confirmation like "this rom is good for sprint note 3" so I don't screw up big time
I would appreciate this.
Let me try this way:
Which ROM I should use with Sprint note 3 (SM-N900P), are those 9005 roms works with it ?

I use Temasek rom v40 + temasek kernel 1.01 and for me it is best combo yet. Battery drain is 0,2%/h when phone is not used. It will work with n900p, you need to flash Cwm or Twrp for your model via Odin, than rom + kernel.
Hello xda.
I installed Cyanogenmod on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 today with no problems at all, however I've found something that seems a bit weird. (I know there is supposed to be bugs in nightlies, of course, but I thought i'd ask anyway.)
In the performance settings of the tab, it keeps the minimum CPU frequency to 1190mhz. If I put it to 300mhz, it will work, but as soon as I exit out of the performance tab, it goes back to 1190mhz. I figured that my phone was quite hot when I didn't use it, and that's how I found out.
Have anyone seen this on the latest CM11 nightly for the Note 3? I hope somebody out there know how I can fix it.
Many thanks.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I've heard a little about kernels. The thing is, that this is the first time I've ever put a custom rom on an android device, so I'm not really 100% familiar with all this yet, however if the custom kernel won't be able to brick my phone, I sure would give that a try.
Should I go with the "stable" version or the beta version of the kernel?

This thread is here as a source for you guys to find out the progress off my port.
I am porting KK from Note2 to our International S3 i9300 because Samsung have failed our beautiful device.
Do Not ask for an ETA as all you need to know will already be in this thread.
TO DO:
modify our kernel to work on new KK build. ( 99% Done )
everything else is done And i am Now Just writing a new Update script And modify ramdisk is all to do alter that.
As soon as i have flashed And checked RIL Data And wifi work Ill release in new thread in dev section. Thanks
Wow great news All the very best bro. We are waiting
Awesomeness brother seriously hats off to all your efforts if im not wrong your the same guy who tested it and has also posted videos I really appreciate your efficient contribution and also understand the risk you took up by flashing a different device firmware watched both your videos as of now ril, wifi, storage isn't working and Samsung gave lame reason as ram consumption is high but in your video it ws somewhere around 500mb good going mahn all the best fingers crossed!!! isn't note 2 kk too big to directly install on s3 .?
do we need partition the sd card..?
Will be interesting to see how this goes. The hardware is very similar. Do they both use the same Wolfson DAC?

So basically, we can keep shrinking the size by deleting bloatware and unwanted apps, right? Or that's the minimum size?

As i stated before no need for sdcard as my kk build is NAND compatible. I do not port a rom if it can work only from sdcard. This rom is stock debloated Note 2 firmware. All features will be Kept only use Less apps will be lost but most of apps will be flashed to /data so i dont have to remove so much

A month ago came from nexus 5 world and I'm big time missing MultiROM. Thank you for the app
However, while installing secondary patched ROM in TWRP, I've got Error 1 - while installing both Lineage OS and AOSP Extended.
I wonder where I can error messages codes to figure our what's wrong with my setup.
Upd. 1 - just checked free space and /system got 0B.
- Does that explains error 1 message (see above)
- how I can free space on /system partition
- How I can get more space on /system partition - to be able to use this app? In other words, do I need to play around with PIT file? Or how else (and more safely) I can extend /system at the cost of interbal storage?

I'm not completely sure how to resize system partition but have you got a very large sized ROM installed? I was running superman ROM and still had more than enough space to install it. You could try to download an app like system app uninstalled and either delete apps like Facebook and install them again from the playstore if they are installed as system apps or delete very rarely used apps like SHealth (just an example, I don't use my S Health but you might)
