S5 G9009W
hi, does the latest philz touch 6.57.8 work ok with G9009WKEU1ANH9 ?
thanks

Does this work on the s5 active from AT&T?

Reboots itself after doing An SD backup restore operation, wich is a bit scary at first, then you realize the operation ran well...
Maybe a bug?

Says you, it worked great on the galaxy s3 when I had it. If you have issues with it try and actually address what they are instead of just saying that the recovery is bad.

I'm sorry, but I could not read the whole thread because I do not speak English. I have a question, I've used in various appliances such custom recovery, but got a new phone now and have not found his model in any of the threads ... What version is klte? The model is my SM-G900MD. This serves? @Phil3759 Thanks for the excellent work. I am an admirer!

yes, installing custom recovery will trip Knox, so your warranty will be voided, because this is Samsung. if you had a stock aosp/regular android device, this would be a different matter, as on most nexus devices, when you flash custom rom/recovery your warranty is voided, but if you revert back to complete stock, no root, custom recovery, kernel, or ROM, your warranty is back. if you flash a custom recovery just to flash a custom ROM, but want to keep the warranty, sorry, that's merely impossible as of now, because we cannot delve deeper into the Samsung phone. if @geohot wasn't working for others, and still working on android, he would've possibly figured out a way to bypass Knox flash counter and enable us to flash anything as we like. Without losing warranty, of course

goo.im is down
hi, can someone please upload the recovery? goo.im is down

Um....oops?
Long story: I edited my build.prop to remove the s-finder and quick-connect buttons, and when I rebooted it stuck on the "Samsung powered by android" screen. vol+up, home, power didn't boot into recovery; battery pull turned it off but vol+up, home, power didn't boot into recovery; of course adb doesn't connect; basically I can't get into recovery by any normal means. Luckily, vol+down, home, power got me into download mode no problem.
My question, aka short version: If I re-flash Philz via Odin in the hope of rebooting into recovery, will my Philz settings be overwritten? It's probably the least of my concerns, since I'll be able to restore the old build.prop, but I did spend a lot of time getting things just right....
Thanks in advance.

But i've got an issue, when i do a backup on SM-G901F (Galaxy S5 4G plus), i see that compression level is 0.00%. Is there any way to activate it, please. Or is it normal ?
Thank you very much for your answer !!!! I didn't find anything into this forum maybe i haven't surch enough !!!

[Q] Help! Cannot boot into Custom Recovery

Hello, I cannot My AT&T Galaxy S4 into recovery mode. According to Boot Manager I have 2 recoveries already installed(CWM and TWRP) but every time I try reboot into recovery I get "Could not do Normal Boot ODIN MODE". I installed one of the recoveries using Goo manager and because it didn't work I tried with boot manager, What am I missing?
Goo Manager doesn't work for the AT&T S4... I did the same thing a while back. You need to use Safestrap for this phone. Look for the right version of it. I'm assuming you are using the stock ROM so find out what software version you are on and download the right version of Safestrap. Good luck.
Btw I forgot to add that you lost your stock recovery so you don't have one anymore. You can take it to a bestbuy and tell them Kies broke your phone and they can reflash it for you, or you can install a custom recovery.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Also, you can't have 2 recoveries installed at "same time". Find your build in settings. If mf3/mk2/nb1 you can't flash custom recoveries. Will also be limited to TW roms. You must use SafeStrap. So, probably need to get very familiar with it before going farther.
Good Luck on it--
Thanks!

Thanks, I'm on MK2. I get this message in Rom manager, should I proceed to install Safestrap?
Sorry for the picture size, don't know how to resize.
You need to use ODIN to flash the original firmware back to your phone (MK2 from the looks of it). Then, install safetrap using the instructions available in the Safestrap thread. Make sure you read the entire thread before you do anything. As already mentioned, only safestrap will work with your phone, not Goo Manager and not ROM Manager.

Is there a way I can flash the stock recovery myself? I'm not in the US. Also, I installed Safestrap without flashing the original firmware and everything seems to be working fine. Should I reflash it anyways? I want to run a custom rom (Hyperdrive RLS15) and I'm new to all of this.Thank you for all your answers!

Its all up to you if you wanna flash a custom ROM. Personally I don't because I have always had bad luck with modding phones and tablets. that's why I only root, but don't let that discourage you. Make sure that you have the correct ROM for your device before installing it.

I need EFS folder i900H

Please...i just want my Galaxy S 5 back...only had 4 days in my hands.
No one can help me?
I think it's a bit complicated since the EFS contains the IMEI and other info that is device-specific.
That's why you don't see a "flash this and your EFS will be all good" package.
In the old days of S1, flashing a full stock rom and full wipe would restore the IMEI, but that's not likely the case here.
I'd bring it to a service center after restoring to stock.
EDIT: maybe this helps?
http://zidroid.com/how-to-fix-failed-to-mount-efs-for-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300/
Change the partition to the one in the S5 G900H
lrwxrwxrwx root root EFS -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
I dont have CWM recovery...can i do that from stock whitout CWM?

Flash CWM using Odin (search for it in the Development forums), since you already tripped Knox it doesn't matter if you flash a custom recovery. Then try the fix.

It depends, did you flash a G900H stock rom? You should flash a full stock image and see what happens.
Did you flash any custom rom in your phone? They currently available ones as of today are for the Snapdragon variant (G900F/I/etc), the G900H is Exynos and currently has no custom roms.
I didn't had any sort of issues with mine.
I'm from Uruguay...South America, and i download it the firmware to Uruguay...
This one: G900HXXU1ANCI_G900HUUB1ANCI_G900HXXU1ANCI_HOME.tar
But works good...but without signal.

Sir, as i told you, you fixed the bootloop only with this mentioned method. but it will not fix your EFS partition, so no signal!
now if you dial *#06# you will not see your original IMEI because it is corrupted.
only a previous EFS backup (that you didnt make it) will solve the problem.
Send it to a service center, they have special tool to fix your issue

Here in the country that i live...(Uruguay) doesnt have a official samsung center to fix my phone issue.
But...recently i had one idea...
I have a friend in the phone company...if he put the new imei,(that the process of recovery of the efs generate)like my official imei.
That will work?
I know that is ilegal...but,i'm desperated...and friends are friends.

It's likely that if he works at the phone company he could do that (if he is or has access to a technician).
Using the device's original IMEI it's not illegal, it would be a repair. That's what the service center would do anyways.

Yeah I did do that. No one actually explains what to download and how to use it. You would had thought that I didn't try. I did use odin and flashed cwm and expected it to work, guess what it didn't. Upon entering recovery a error popped out and I was welcomed by the samsung recovery page. Hence i'm here looking for a way to root and get superuser that actually works.

You see, there are very well explained and , yes, they worked!
Well I followed the guide posted here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529064
Got myself a clockwork from here : http://www.filefactory.com/file/5wsoycfxn7i5/CWM_6.0.4.6_Non-Touch_GT-I9506.tar
Flashed it via odin. Was hoping that it would finally work, but bam. Got an error again.
Any help at this point would be appreciated.
Cheers.
You didnt flashed the right version, its 6.0.4.8, and you didnt unchecked auto reboot. So, you didnt do it how the guide says.

Once updated to 4.4.2, you cannot downgrade to 4.3! You can only use Auto root from DeHwak thread. Towelroot doesnt work on 4.4.2 on i9506! There is no root option for i9506 without tripping knox!
Well, on some phones, you can downgrade easly. For example you can do it on s4 mini. It has 4.3 Brazilian firmware with new knox 2.0 bootloader.

Use autoroot from DeHawk post, He modified Chainfire autorrot to work on I9506. He also made it available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597058 in the end of first Post.
This Autorrot will trigger knox flag (works on 4.4.2) but if you don't care about it, go ahead and you will be Rooted. Don't forget to give him a thanks

I am buying a new S4. Apparently it comes with 4.2x on it. So, should I root it from there or upgrade to 4.4.2 official? I was thinking if I did it from 4.2, I'd avoid the knox issue and then upgrade to a custom ROM later and still not have a knox problem.... or I am way off base?
Is there something new in root on 4.4.2 subject? I still want my knox status to be 0x0...

Root 4.4.2
Will the 4.4.4 root method work on mine 4.4.2 ?
For root our 4.4.4 Neo without trigger the Knox warranty flag, we need to found a Towelroot exploitable kernel and flash it temporally then root and reflash the original kernel.
I did follow that technique for re-root my Tab Pro after update it.

Hey everyone kinda new to this, had a HTC Sensation, good few years back and tinkered a fair bit with that.
I now have a sm-g900f S5 running stock 5.0 Baseband G900FXXU1BOJ1. I have rooted the device and got TWRP running. I have backed everything up.
My question is can i put xposed on my device and if i can how do i go about it.
Thanks in advance.

Now I habe a rooted S5
1. copy "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" to phone internal storage
2. flash the "twrp-2.8.7.0-klte.img.tar" with Odin (with "Auto Reboot" OFF)
3. After battery out and in, boot into recovery (VolUP+Home+PWR)
4. In recovery with TWRP go to install zip, choose "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip".
Reboot Phone and tested with a root Checker from Playstore and -> Congratulations! Root access is properly installed on this device!

I think XPosed should work on any bootloader, only depends on the versions that xposed supports but by now it should support almost any android versions, anyone can correct me if I'm wrong here.

This warning shows up when I try and install the framework, any ideas?
I also read that on stock Samsung ROMs it causes bootloop?
