The stock recovery works great.
But perhaps that isn't what you really meant? You are probably thinking of a custom recovery. There is a CWM thread for your phone. And check the Android development subforum to see if any other custom recoveries have been released for the G900H.

Just flash. All custom ROMs have root.
Btw, you need a custom recovery to flash a ROM (like TWRP, CWM)

Not necessarily. You can flash a custom recovery through Odin and not root it at all and then just install a already rooted ROM.

CWM is always reliable. Some prefer TWRP. I'm using Philz Touch. It depends on your preferences. CWM is the most stable.
hi,there is no any twrp or cwm ported for grand 2 LTE sm-g7105 i request developers to please make cwm cause I'm not able to install any mods without CWM.

Tried the G7102's CWM? No difference, as in my old Galaxy Star, the same build of CWM worked on two variants.
Technically, there shouldn't be a difference.
If it failed, you can simply fix using Odin.

You're using 4.3 recovery on 4.4.2.
That's it.

I'm sure that this would work.
Use the older PhilZ Touch 6.48 for 4.3.
You can find it in the recovery section.
Make sure you use the old release, not the new KitKat one.

tried but failed i also updated to kitkat 4.4.2 and tried the kitkat recovery it also failed i think there 's a qualcomm secure bootloader but it should also be on sm-g7102 how this recovery works on that device.CWM should be ported for this device seperately because this device has a different case.

Secure Boot doesn't affect anything.
Make sure you use a 4.4.2 recovery on 4.4.2.
Redownload as to eliminate mix-up between recoveries.
Hi. I've rooted a tablet and a phone before but I have no experience with custom roms and recovery.
My question is if I install a custom rom, is my tablet automatically rooted? Or I have to root before I can install custom rom?
And is root needed for installing recovery? Its for Samsung Galaxt Tab 4 (10.1")
Thank you.
ROOT is needed to access system as RW mode.
To flash recovery you need root,
To flash ROM you need recovery
And no, not all ROMs are pre-rooted. But you can download CHAINFIRE's SuperSU.zip and paste it in sdcard. So whenever you flash a ROM, flash supersu.zip and you will be rooted. Hit thanks if I helped you
Instead of thanking me by posting, HIT Thanks if you like my post or if I helped you in any way!

That depends on the specific model of your phone/tablet. All custom roms come pre-rooted. On Samsung/HTC phones (and some more) you don't need root acces to flash recovery. Please ask your question for spcecific devices.

For a Samsung device you can use an app called ODIN to flash a custom recovery. If you google for flashing recovery with ODIN there are many guides. You do not need root to do this but you will trip a counter internally that marks your device as warranty voided. You can get PhilZ Recovery for Galaxy Tab 4 in the Tab 4 forums. Make sure to note your model number as the different sizes of the tab have different builds. Once you have that you can flash a custom rom. Make sure to back up stack first in case you want to go back. Once you have a custom recovery you can do this from the menu

To flash a Custom ROM there is no need to root, the only thing you need is to install a custom recovery, TWRP is very good. After you have installed TWRP or any other custom recovery, you have to put on your SD Card the ROM that you want to install, and install it from the custom recovery.

In my S5 I install TWRP fist then patch the Root file, I don't know if backing up works when your phone is non rooted.
Dear forum user,
I want to flash custom recovery to my phone s5 (G903F) and I cant. Either i stuck at recovery that says "recovery is not seandroid enforced", or just infinite boot without any sign of recovery working
Is there any custom recovery file for this model?
I managed to root it via CF auto root.
Phone uses lolipop 5.1.1
main reason why I need custom recovery is because i want to install xposed Framework.
thank you for your attension. :good::good:
