I Send my phone to for repairing and back with that Proximity sensor issue , when calling someone screen turn black and i cant do anything , everything stop working , i have try to set Settings/Accessibility/Power button ends call but its not working i have try also dial 3845#*715# but theres no Proximity sensor calibration my phone model is LG Optimus L7 Duos P715 , in Proximity sensor says that phone is near to ear ...
Did you have idea how to fix it ? I have send to service but they say that sensor cant be changed with new one... so if you have any ideas?

Hi guys,
I got my xperia x10 and the proximity sensor doesn't work. Even in test mode it just says off with a dial tone. Any idea what I can do? Ive tried flashing firmwares.

The proximity sensor in X10 does disable the touch on your screen immediately after you put the phone to your face, and it waits about 6 or 7 seconds to turn off the display.
you can test it, call someone and put your finger on the top of the screen( beside the earpiece ) and try to cancel the call.
ya but the thing is it doesn't work in the service menu...
I tested it now and it's working fine from the service test menu. it even detects my finger about centimeter and a half away from it.(give you a tone and write "ON" on the screen)
When you test it in the service menu... are you actually covering the proximity sensor? it won't activate unless you cover it..
it's just above and to the right of the word "Ericsson" at the top of the phone.
yes it is the little black thing It works on my brothers but not mine when I open the test i just hear a dial tone and see off even when I try to cover it
Sounds like you need to take it back then.. either get it repaired or replaced..
but it's working while you are in a call, so don't bother yourself.
maybe it's just a software error.

im using Mdeejay_FroYo_Sense_v._2.4_Clean_S6.1 on my hd2 and when i call someone i get a black screen and i cant get out of it even if the call ends unless if someone calls me back

Hi, do you use a screen protector ?, you should not recover or clean the proximity sensor in the upper side of HD2

when you call, the head is next to the proximity sensor, hence making the screen black.

Yep. I had the same issue after installing the Cyanogen Mod 7.1 ROM. There is an option to recalibrate the Proximity sensor. After doing that the problem got fixed for me. So might want to try this out.
It was under Open App Drawer--> ZTE BLADE settings--> Proximity Sensor Calibration.

I bought a new Samasung galaxy note 3
and had some issues with it..
1) I had to switch the network mode from "auto connect- LTE/WCDMA/GSM" to "GSM only" to make calls work. So is that fine? Now the phone receives calls normally but just before dialing it gives a message..
2) Yesterday, the proximity sensor was working ( with the sticker on the screen). Today it stopped working and it doesn't turn off the screen during calls.. and air gestures are not working. I tried cleaning the screen over the sensor but it didn't work so what should I do? I did a factory reset to the phone before checking the sensor today, so did that affect the sensor in any way?

I have a problem with my proximity sensor on my SM G900F
When I call someone, the screen goes black and I have to push the power button to wake it up. same thing with listening to whatsapp audios for exemple.
I tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569141 but it's not working . I did it first time and the sensor was working until I put my hand near to it then it turns off ( it's normal ) but when I take my hand away the screen is stuck in black ( not normal ) and when I try to repeat the call it goes black from the first time not when I get my hand close to it and stay like that. I did the whole things again but this time it does not work at all.
Now the phone vibrates always in the test of sensors *#0*#
I have no problem with disactivating the sensor ( if it's possible) but I did not find from where to turn it off ( in Phone settings section )
Any help please ?
