USB 3.0 connection problem? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all, is there a way to connect via USB 3.0 to a Mac? There is Android File Transfer which will support MTP but it's USB2.0 only.
Secondly, when I connect it with USB 3.0 onto Windows the connection drops every 2 seconds. I've heard that this is due to me having an SD card and you need to unmount it first? But if you can't use a card USB 3.0 is rather pointless because the internal storage I would assume is FAT32 and won't take files larger than 4GB anyway.

[Q] SD card problem after installing Energy android rom

I have updated HD2 from Energy Windows Mobile 6.5 to Energy Android 3.5.
While installing the new OS I noticed that my SD card wasn't working right. After installing aMAGLRD 1.13 and using it to copy necessary ZIP file that it took me a few times to correctly to coppy the file on SD.
After installing my Android OS and the nrunning it I noticed that I am being displayed an error saying "Damaged SD Card".
Now, I thought to just format the SD card by using the Mass Storage Device which should be visible from Choos a connection type but I only see Charge Only, HTC Sync, USB Tethering, and Internet pass-throught. No Mass storage device.
Anyway, how else I could fix my SD card or how to get the Mass Storage Card option?
I can not make any promises but you can boot into MAGLDR and then choose opt ion number 4 of the main menu. This is the USB Mass Storage option in MAGLDR, but know this do this at your own risk as this option in MAGLDR works for transfering files but is slower than the in ROM USB Mass Storage option, and the connection is not a stable connection.
Your other option is to get you a micro SD cars adaptor or reader that you can plug into your computer via USB. I actually recommend you do this as you probably need to do a low level format and I do not suggest you use your phones micro SD card reader to do this.
This is probably too long but, I have used the Mass Storage thing from MDR.. idk... and I have copied and installed my android 4 OS. It seems nice, but the problem is when I launch android.
The 16gb card with adapter isnt supported by my card reader as it seems eather.
So I bought a new card for 15 some dollars and I'm happy now.
But what could cause my SD problem?

Data transfer problem via USB

Why can i only tranfer data from the phone to the pc but not the other way?
I can transfer files from the phone's memory and the extrnal sd card to the pc
But, I can't transfer files from the pc to anywhere on the phone either the built in memory card or external sd card
is this a s3 problem or and ics 4.0 problem

You need to make sure you loaded the current (updated) drivers on the PC, and make sure you're using the cable that came with the phone (or if that's the one you're using, try another one). But I'll bet you're using an old/different cable - it's causing problems all over (my guess is the pinout changes for MHL are making it touchy about older cables).

[Q] Necessary to eject from PC with MTP now?

Previously, in order to prevent corruption to the external SD, one was highly advised to eject the USB mounted SD drive from the PC before pulling the plug. However, with the new MTP configuration, is still advised to eject or un-mount the storage? I would think that once file transfer is complete, technically it should be OK to simply disconnect the cable from the PC. Any thoughts?

It has technically been okay to pull out the cable from the PC, as long as it is not transferring information then no data will be really lost. However, MTP is more like a USB. It is always better to do it. It takes maybe 5 seconds more, but it gives you a piece of mind, so why not?

File transfers to usb or sdcard (turned into internal storage) question

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm trying to put files like emulator files on my usb drive that has been converted internal storage (usb). My computer won't read the usb after it is formatted to be an internal storage.
I have the files on a sdcard but wondering how I can transfer all that to be on the usb drive.
Please let me know thanks!
As far as I know once you format any external storage as internal then that drive is going to be encrypted. This is the reason why your PC won't read it when you insert it back to its own USB ports. You can read it via NSTV if you connect it to your computer via USB cable as long as you enable USB debugging. To recover the USB for general use you have to erase it from NSTV/storage and then eject and then it might work again on your PC. I said it might because sometimes you would have to do a low lever format to completely remove the encryption. Good luck.
