Ok so im not sure this is where to post this but I'll give it a try. I had a rooted galaxy s4 running NC1 update. I wanted to unroot it and set it back to stock so i can give it to a family member. I followed a guide that told me to flash the NB1 firmware and update to NC1, so i put the phone in download mode and opened ODIN and selected the NB1 tar file, right after i started it there was some text going on on the left of the screen, and after it said something like "boot.img" (I'm not sure what it exactly said but it started with boot.something) it gave an error and odin said it failed. I tried starting the phone up and it said that the firmware update was interrupted and to plug it into kies. I tried following the emergeny firmware update and it wouldn't go through. On the top left of the screen on my S4 it says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I337
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRENTY VOID: 0x0
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enabled
eMMC BURST MODE: enabled
If anyone can help I would be eternally gratefull, I'm not very android savy yet and i have absolutly no idea on how to fix this.

Put the phone in download mode and re-attempt the NB1 flash through Odin. As long as the download mode exists, the phone can be recovered.

These lines seem as if you were checking the "Re-partition" box in Odin. Be sure this is unchecked!
Anyway, two ads: 1) Be sure you are using correct cf-auto-root file for your i9505 and not for i9500. 2) Use the odin version found inside the cf-auto-root zip, it is, version 1.85, instead of 3.0x; in some forums people say 3.0x gives errors for cf-root.

And same error in odin? sorry, no ideas... except trying the method to flash 4.3 with root using a pit file (repartition) ando wiping data (factory reset).
I have been searching threads for 6 hours, but haven't found anything conclusive.
I rooted my phone a while back, but today I decided to install a new custom ROM. I backed up the ROM to my external SD and installed the new one through safestrap. However, when I tried to reboot, I just got stuck on a screen that says samsung and has an open lock.
I am able to get into download mode, but not into recovery. After I boot into download mode, it says write protection:enabled (not sure that is normal, but I thought I would mention it). I open up Odin and the drivers seem to load fine. I have tried a a few versions of ODIN and two different Stock ROMs, but it fails every time. On my phone, after it fails, I get a message that says SW Rev. Check Fail: fused 2, binary: 1.
In ODIN, I get the following:

The problem is you're trying to flash mdl firmware and you're not on that version. It looks like you're on mf3. There is no Odin flashable mf3 firmware so I'd suggest you flash the nb1 tar file. See the general forum for the file. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50912149

Hellos,
I'm noob and recently rooted and installed a custom recovery my S4 in attempt to install Cyanogenmod. This was after the last update by At&t and the bootloader doesnt let the recovery (TWRP) boot. This was before I heard that Att added a boot loader. I have tried many methods to return to stock but all have failed because of the bootloader. Any way to remove and return to stock or perhaps unlock the bootloader?
I tried Odin with the correct firmware I needed. This is what I got.

Sorry a little confusion. When i tried to flash the file into my phone it failed and bricked my phone. When i tired to Install the stock firmware back on the phone i tired using the pit file like i read in other forms. I don't know much about all the stuff i was just doing what i read that helped other people. Anytime i try to flash any files onto my phone it fails. What im asking is what do i need to do to fix the brick problem. Im not sure if now the kernel file on my phone is missed up now? Do i need to try and flash a actual stock kernel file? I have also read that sometimes the Download mode on the phone gets corrupt and causes file not to flash. Before i started having problems i had 4.2.2 downloaded. I will have a video up shortly showing what im doing in odin with the files.
Thanks
I am downloading this ALL_ATT_I337UCUFNB1_I337ATTFNB1_505595_REV06_user_ low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 file now.. I will try and flash this onto my phone next and see what that does.. I will use v3.09 of odin also. Is there anything else i should try first before i do this? Im not 100% sure what the difference is between this file and the stock firmware i was using before.
here is the video /watch?v=VWvDj16mA_U&feature=youtu.be
Thanks

File goes in AP slot in Odin.
I think I was wrong also. I had the newest update that was over the air so that would of been 4.4.4. Is this why I'm having the issues. Is my bootloader locked for good now?

You're bootloader was always locked for good. All i337's from day one were. But that's not the issue. Have you flashed the nb1 tar file in Odin? That should work. You're still on a version where you can root and use safestrap.

Ok, I'm old school so let's start from scratch and rule out a hardware issue. Google Odin 1.85 xda and install that on your pc. Then download the stock Odin tar file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50912149 edit, if you've download it once before, re-download it
Open Odin on your pc. Then boot into download mode on your device and connect it to your pc. Then run the nb1 tar file in the PDA slot of Odin.

When I go to ODIN mode my PRODUCT NAME IS I337. However when i go to the about section in settings it says I9505. If its running a custom or none stock ROM the about section will show wrong. I would remove the battery see what it says and Odin that firmware from sammobile. Sounds like you have a i337 running international variant of the rom. If it does say i337 don't do anything above MDL.

If its running a custom or none stock ROM the about section will show wrong. I would remove the battery see what it says and Odin that firmware from sammobile. Sounds like you have a i337 running international variant of the rom. If it does say i337 don't do anything above MDL.

I'd say just find and flash the NB1 ODIN tar file from the general section then. Either find the thread for it or check the [INDEX] thread.
The boot loop is a soft brick most of the time you'll need to Odin it to get it to boot. I'd try MDL if it boot loops still that means your on a newer version you'll need to flash the newer tar file.

Yes, it'll update the bootloader too but you can still root nb1 and you'll still need to use safestrap as your custom recovery so no harm will be done.
