My motorola droid razr M is not starting and stuck at Setup wizard. My current version is Kitkat4.4.2.- 182.46.10
I have reset my phone to factory setting. after erasing at startup, it start and showed setup wizard and asked to select language. I select English and press next button but it stuck on "Please wait, this may take few minutes." I waited around 15 minutes but it still there. So I tried force reboot and again same thing waited for 15 min but still stuck at same point. I also tried RECOVERY in boot menu but it cant go further and Android with exclamatory sign comes.
I am stuck. :crying::crying::crying: Please Help..
Thanks in Advance.

go to sbf droid devs and grab that sbf file for your phone.
extract it to a folder, find the xml file (near the bottom), right click and edit, completely delete any lines containing "gpt" and "tz".
close and save. now flash the xml with rsd (many tutorials can be found on google).
if you get a "getvar" failure, go back to the xml file and delete any lines containing "getvar".
i dont know the specifics of this phone or i would know if the getvar is needed or not, on the HD it throws an error.

hello everyone i am in big trouble,
I was making a custom rom for my home use and i changed some icons. I also accidentally deleted my launcher2.apk file so i have no way of getting to any apps from the homescreen and it just shows a black screen with a status bar on my homescreen. There is nothing i can do and since i wiped by defealt it dosen't have USB debugging on and no service so i can't get a txt and go to the messaging app and then somewhere from there. So i am freaking stuck on a black screen. the lock screen is fine but i also can't get to the bootstrap recovery. I am thinking of doing a a wipe using RSD lite but i tried that a while ago on my dell and it didn't work (a few weeks ago). it would get to 99% and then just stop and say failed. If i get it bricked I would be fine because I could go into verizon and say that my phone just stopped booting on after using it for a while and the battery ran out or something like that but right now it still boots up. What can i do?!!?!?!?!? i desperatley need my phone or my parents are going to murder me (but i guess a new phone would be a good christmass present even though it would be a huge bummer not to have a smartphone and just have a little normal slider phone or something like that). I am supposed to be pretty good with tech stuff since i made roms before except right now i'm stumped since rsd lite usually dosen't work.
thanks,
ljbaumer
If you do SBF then follow these instructions to the letter (I just SBF'd my Droid2 last night):
Get the 2.3.20 SBF file
Get RSDLite 4.8 or 4.9
Install the latest Motorola drivers
Start RSDLite and select the SBF file
Turn on your phone while holding the up key on the keyboard. This should boot up into a screen with just some text
Connect your phone to your computer
Start the SBF
Eventually RSDLite will tell you to manually power up your phone. Your phone should be in a boot loop at the Droid eye logo at this point
Disconnect your phone and pull the battery
Wait 30 seconds or so and put the battery back in. Turn on the phone while holding up on the keyboard
Connect the phone to your computer. RSDLite should say 'SUCCESS' at this point
Disconnect your phone and turn it off
Turn your phone back on while holding the 'X' key on the keyboard
When you get the Android dude with an exclamation point in a triangle push the search key (magnifying glass) on the keyboard
Select both 'Clear cache' and 'Clear data' on from the list. Clearing the data might take a minute or two so just sit tight
Reboot the phone. It might take a few minutes to boot back into stock Blur. You'll get the account setup screen when it's done
thanks for the fast reply. downloading the stuff right now and going to try in 30 minutes once the download is done. the sbf is VRZ_A955_2.3.20.zip right?
Yup. It should contain a file named VRZ_A955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf that's 434MB.
Just wondering, how would I sbf my Droid 2 on a MacBook. I just ditched Windows and got a new MacBook Pro and I am trying to figure it out.
I was trying to figure out the same thing but I just gave up so I am moving the files over to my 7 year old dell inspiron 6000 and hoping it will work!
flashing right now..... scared out of my wits.... plzzzz work.....
status: interface Ap-OS: flashing code group 39 executed: 27%
doing some crazy stuff.... this is pretty cool.

No problem.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
hi there...
just installed CM7 this weekend. worked fine for 2 days
After restarting the ms2, it got stuck in a bootloop.
I can flash a sbf with rsd lite from, finishes OK, but when it says, rebooting, well...
it still stuck in a bootloop.
In recovery mode, i can do a cache wipe and factory reset. But there is a error message at the bottom, telling:
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/caller
Could I successfully flash with RSDlite from Linux? which version?
Is there a way to restore the ms2 from dev console?
Thanks a lot
Do you test to Wipe Data with stock moto recovery ?
Here step 7 to 11
I think your request must be on "General" section
I suspected it might be related the CyanogenMod intstall. But move to "general" if necessary
Have done steps 7 - 11
but still ms2 bootloops
OMG - if broke it - my wife kills me
I hope your wife don't kill you LOL
See this thread and particulary this with r2beta0 tips:

I have do this (all step 1 to 11 because "boot up the phone manually" ) with the sbf 2.2.2 officiel but modify whith this post :

I don't know if this is going to help, but you could try that anyway:
- Download MotoAndroidDepacker (utility to unpack/repack SBF's)
- Choose one stock SBF (2.2 FR for example)
- Open and unpack it with the utility
- Rename CG66.smg to CG37.smg (you are going to use preinstall image as data image, both are ext3, but has different sizes. Don't know if it's going to work).
- Use utility to open folder with unpacked images and repack it
- Put phone in bootloader mode and flash the repacked SBF (rebuilt/firmware.sbf)
- Post results here

I did exactly the same, as in the other thread.
And thank god, my ms2 booted up
So everything seems fine for now und no one should get killed
Many Thanks!
Nice for you
Moved to proper forum.
Hi all, Emiliano from Italy. I firstly wanted to thank you all for your support.
Even being my first post here, I've been following you since some time.
My problem looks exactly the same: bootloop... bootloop... bootloop.
No matter how many I tried flashing back the original ROM for my M2 (SBF file always worked before!!! so I'm sure is the correct one for my smartphone).
I tried also the procedure with depacking described above with no progresses.
Anyway I already had noticed that after renaming cg66 to cg37, depacker wasn't able to see it in the list of cgs before repacking, so that final fbs was 300MB less.
Something wrong I made? (tried on 2 pcs with Vista Home and Business)
Unluckily I cannot even try to wipe data because I cannot enter in recovery mode (On + X -> Android robot with mark -> but nothing happens after pressing magnifying lens or any other key).
Could someone, please, help me before using my bricked M2 for building a new house?

Hi Amir4Life,
thanks for reply and for your suggestion.
Unluckily I cannot access recovery mode.
All I get when pressing X is the green robot with Exclamation mark, but no matter which key I press after, it gets stuck at that point (so that I'm bound to take away battery to turn smartphone off) and cannot access or see any menu to operate wipe.
Tried also reflashing other roms through rds lite (bootloader works efficiently) or through ubuntu live cd "sbf_flash system", but the only fsb that always worked for me turns out to be a bootloop when rebooting.
Unluckily nothing seems to help me in this situation, so far.
It's still a bootlpop and no access to recovery mode.
Thanks anyway for your help and happy and special new year to you all!
At the 'exclamation sign + green android guy' screen, you have to press 'vol up + vol down' together.
Now you will get the options like 'wipe data' etc. etc. Scroll through options using vol up or vol down and select using power button.

Thanks Sahilarora,
If I had read you before I would have saved a lot of time trying all possibile combinations of keys on the keboards (since magnifying glasses didn't work)!!
Then just by chance I discovered myself volume up + down while pressing chaotically all buttons and it worked to my best suprise, showing me finally the belated list of options, together with blessed wipe data factory
Since yesterday evening my Milestone 2 is wonderfully working again, as fresh as a daisy!
Thank you so much for your contribution, hoping it could help also Amir4Life and oll pthers in a similar situation.
Happy new year (started in the best way).
Glad for you, I was about to tell to do what sahilarora911 told ya,
I expect i m the only one who stays with brick'd phone... my luck.

Could explain in details which is your problem, and which methods have you already tried to solve it?
If not me, maybe someone else could help you.

well my dad was having problems with his defy, running a stock us 2.2.1. I looked at his phone, and after a few minutes, it would freeze up, and go into a bootloop, or still screen of the motorola logo.
First thing i tried is the stock recovery, which would freeze as soon as i started to wipe cache, and or data reset. After that, it gets stuck on the motorola logo no matter what.
I thought flashing a different .sbf would work, tried it, and finally got it to load to the "Welcome to android - please touch to continue" screen, as soon as i touched it, it froze.
flashed - JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTCEE_P016_A016_HWp3_Service1FF
went into recovery again to try to hard reset, but once again it freezes when it starts to clear cache/data factory reset.
Reflashed, now its still stuck on the motorola logo.
Any help is appreciated, thanks
DH

So, I was using Zedomax's how to root N10 tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wVlI-gWppCA#at=261)... I had everything working fine up until about 4:15 in the video when his restarts mine just gets stuck in boot loop and displays the nexus bootloader for an unlimited amount of time. My device does however show that it is unlocked because when I go back through the process it says it is already unlocked as you can see in the pictures. the first is the cmd I used and the second is what the N10 shows after "fastboot oem unlock"... I am completely lost and have tried over and over to find the problem... I have tried to unroot and restore but I cant even find a working file that isnt malicious... ANY AND ALL HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED...

I can help you get back to stock, that should fix everything. You will erase everything and have to start whatever you were working on again. So back it up before hand if you can.
So first you need to be sure you have TODAYS latest updates to the fastboot.exe program, do this by installing the SDK from Google, then launching the update manager and doing all updates. See this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38961605&postcount=5
Then you need to do what styckx says. Be sure to click 'Thanks' under his posts. The only thing that you may find is hard to understand is, if you download that from Google and it end up as .tar you have to rename it to .tgz to have it extract correclty. See this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38091931&postcount=210
EDIT - If you did oem unlock and were stuck at the X bootlogo then there is an easier fix than what I describe. You state you are stuck at bootloader. Just FYI
Good luck!

yes. that is common w/ these after oem unlock. on that fastboot screen you posted, the one you get to by holding the certain key sequence at boot - use the volume keys to select Recovery, then use the start button to boot to that mode. This confuses people because at that point it looks broken - all you see is a triangle with an error X in it (or something like that.) BUT from that screen you access another menu, do this by briefly pressing power volume up and volume down in little spurts. it sounds wierd, but you do that for up to 20 seconds and you'll finally get it. its just hard to enter so you have to do it like that otherwise you go crazy trying. once you've accessed that menu you will know because its all text. using the navigation choose 'factory wipe' and wipe it. after that your N10 will boot like normal. be aware - navigation on that text only menu is tricky.
Hi All,
I tried to flash my phone with STOCK ROM by using RSD lite. I used an SBF file for this.
The status in RSD lite is showing as "Please manually boot up this device".
I have then unplugged the device and went into the bootloader by
pressing Power+Vol UP.Now I connected the device back to the PC and suddenly the RSD lite status shows as PASS but the mobile does not go past the Android boot screen.
I have tried using different SBF files but the result is same.
Has anyone face the same issue before or knows the solution to this problem??If so please share...
How long did you wait between appearing of the "Please manually boot up this device" message to booting?
I usually leave the phone for few minutes and it eventually reboots on it's own all the way to the stock, usable system and Android configuration wizard. I have never even tried to do this manually.
I waited for some 5 minutes and then searched on the internet if anybody else has faced the same problem...
The solution I found on the net was to disconnect the mobile from the USB port and connect it back again by entering into the bootloader mode.
Then the status on the RSD lite changed to PASS but phone is not getting through the boot logo of Android ...
Boot to stock recovery 3e. Press vol up + down at the same time. Clear cache and reboot. If still bootloop, enter stock recovery again, but this time do factory reset and reboot. Good luck!

+1. i've just done this yesterday and this is exactly what happened in my case as well. that is, just leave it as it for a few minutes and the phone will eventually rebooted itself to the system. that's when i unplug the usb cable.
