[Q] Stock Rom wont load - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently on nc4 baseband version and i wanted to go back to my stock rom using safestrap version 3.75 (TWRP v2.7.1.0) When i activate stock rom and reboot, the phone stays on the verizon red screen with out any indication of doing anything. I have to take out the battery and load up to baja rom 15 or alliance rom v1 to get into phone. When i run stock rom the safestrap says its not active (is that normal?)
any help would be appreciated, first time android user.

Stock ROM won't load
Ok, I had this problem when I downgraded the kernel from nc4 to nc2 to load Biggins and Jasmine.
I just looked on Alliance, and the instructions do not say anything about downgrading. I am running Biggins, Jasmine, and Alliance. I lost my stock slot because many instructions tell you to load their ROM into stock slot, which NEVER worked for me! I did lose my stock install though. Try flashing the nc4 kernel with Odin.
This may help:

If you have not flashed the nc2, I am not sure what is wrong. Let me know what you find out. All my slots work fine except stock, DO NOT overwrite stock if you can help it.

[Q] Verizon Note 3 Rom Help

Hi Guys I'm trying to install a custom Rom on my phone but have failed 4 times now and have to reach out to the forum for help. I'm on 4.4.2 ota and have rooted w/ towel root sucessfully, installed safestrap 3.72 and 3.75, busybox and super su. I advance wipe and do a clean install. Everytime it says it was successful but when I reboot the screen goes black and does noting. The phone remains on but nobodys home. I've tried the Jasmine rom and the alliance rom with the same results. I used odin to go back to stock but I want a custom rom. Can anybody help? I've attached a screenshot of my about phone. Also can anybody recommend a Rom that helps with the signal/gps issues that started after KK?
Thanks in Advance!

You need to flash the NC2 kernel via odin. File and instructions can be found here. When following the steps in the OP you can substitute the rom you want for the one you can download from the post.
Also incase you didn't see it in the Safestrap OP you will only be able to use the stock rom slot, if trying to flash on a created slot it won't boot properly or at all (rom slots are only supported on NC2 firmware and previous, the ota is NC4).
Hope this helps.
That's great thank you very much for your help!
Do I just flash the kernal over my stock rom?

To be safe you might want to flash the rooted stock rom provided in the post I linked earlier. That rom is the NC4 stock with pre-root and a couple other tweaks Basically the same as OTA but better. Just follow the steps in the OP and you'll be good to go (if you haven't already).
thank you
My pleasure.
Ok I'm sorry I'm still confused. The OP doesn't say to flash with Odin anywhere it says flash with Safe strap. Do I flash the firmware with Odin first then Rom?

Anything firmware, kernel or modem related must be flashed in Odin as long as we have a locked bootloader. Just follow the steps as instructed and you'll be fine.

[Q] Why can't I get a custom rom to boot?

Hi all,
Working with a AT&T NC1 safestrap phone. Having problems getting any custom rom to boot. Phone usually shows white on black Samsung logo for a few second then restarts, sometimes into stock recovery.
Detailed below is my method, and methods tried with same result. Perhaps someone can see the error of my ways.
I have been trying to start fresh.... so:
1) Odin I337UCUFNB1_TWRootable_Full_Odin.tar.md5
2) Do not boot, Download mode and flash 2400258.zip
3) Install tr, and SS 3.72
4) Reboot into recovery, install Hyperdrive 18.1 or Gravitron S4 3.2 for SS, then flash SuperUser then NC1 module.
No matter what, I cannot get a rom to boot. Just hangs at Samsung logo
Other methods tried:
1) Using I337_NB1toNC1_KeepRoot_OTA.zip and/or I337_NB1toNC1_KeepRoot_OTAwBL.zip to flash to NC1 before custom rom (after Odin NB1) (instead of 2400258.zip)
2) Using NB1 Odin Files from Magic Tool BL,AP,CP before flash of custom rom, tried also after flashing custom rom
3) flashing NB1 stock kernel
4) flashing NC1 stock kernel
Tried maybe 30 or 40 times, cannot get a custom Rom to boot. To be clear, stock boots just fine whenever i Odin back and upgrade to NC1.
Anyone out there insightful enough to lend a hand? More detailed instructions than on INDEX ALL THINGS POST? See my mistake? Losing my mind just a little bit, flashing the days away...
Any help greatly appreciated!
Are you trying to flash a custom ROM in the STOCK slot? Or a second slot?
I do NOT have safestrap but I know I have read you HAVE TO flash Roms in the STOCK Slot for it to work.

Is your ROM SafeStrap Compatible?
Yes indeed. Tried a variety of them off the safe strap compatible page. I feel there is something I am missing but not sure what. I have been wiping data, davliche, cache, and system each time. Is this correct?

[Q] [Help] Unable to get signal/Service after I attempted to use CM12

I had my phone with just Stock ROM and root. I was using SafeStrap to attempt to use some ROMs and the one in particular I tried was
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/hlte-spr-vzw-temaseks-unofficial-t2953375
Well, it did not work so I switched to the Stock ROM and deleted the installation of the CM12. And once I booted up the Stock ROM my phone was unable to get service. I checked my radios, it was NC4.
Fed up I deiced to use Odin to flash a complete Stock NC4 VZW set up on it and then I wiped all data/cache from the Stock Recovery.
Once again I booted it up and there still is no signal.
At this point I dont care if it is a custom ROM or if it is rooted, I just want to be able to get calls/texts.....
Thank you and sorry this is my fist post on xda

Put custom rom in stock slot on Safestrap

I need some serious help guys. Here's the scenario:
When installing a custom rom to my phone using Safestrap I put it on the stock slot on accident. Here's all my phone information:
Verizon S4
Sch-1545
Android 4.3
I545VRUEMK2
Kernel 3.4.0
Running Hyperdrive RLS15 on Safestrap 3.71 (?)
How do I go about restoring Verizon's stock rom onto the stock slot and having Hyperdrive on a different slot without bricking my phone? I've tried to think of this a million ways and so far have come to few conclusions as to how to make this work. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Start from scratch. Reinstall the stock ROM via Odin, then do what you need to in order to get SafeStrap back onto the phone, then put the custom ROM in the correct slot.

S4 i337 5.0.1 Rooted -- Trying to Flash Goldeneye

Hey All,
I have been out of the scene for a number of months now, and I'm trying to get my S4 back to life on a custom rom (Goldeneye happens to be my pick).
Currently, my S4 is running Android 5.0.1 on what I believe is a stock rooted rom. Safe-Strap IS installed, and I've been using the NC1 Flasher method to get back into Safe-Strap.
Inside of the GE thread, in the Q&A Section, there is a link for "AT&T SAFESTRAP USERS ONLY!!" , which describes a process of using the NC1 flasher to get into Safe Strap, installing GE with all of the 'SafeStrap' options, then flashing modules. Followed by ODIN'ing two files for the Stock Kernal / Partitions.
Trouble is, after following the above steps to (what I believe was) a T, My phone just boots back into my stock rooted ROM as if nothing happened.
The only thing I can consider, is that when I'm in SafeStrap, am I supposed to use a ROM slot, or just the default slot? The last time I used SafeStrap, the purpose was to keep your stock rom intact. Is that not the case on the S4?

I'm pretty sure only the stock slot will work. I haven't tried a ROM slot for a very long time, but have run many custom ROMs in the stock slot without issue. Good luck.
