I got my S5 yesterday. I have tried to use Wifi transfer pro and dooblou wifi file explorer to transfer file to my S5 external SD card, but they don't work. What I see is that my external SD does not show on the Wifi transfer pro and dooblou wifi file explorer pages. Normally, I will see my SD card available space in their pages

It's because of Kit Kat. You no longer have access to the SD card unless apps are updated. Was your last phone on 4.4?

My last phone was S3. It was broken 2 days ago, so I got a S5 yesterday.
What app I can use to transfer file from PC to S5?
You need root access for writing to SD with non pre-installed programs.

cant, unless you are rooted, by editing vold.fstab file.
I received a 64GB Micro-SD card for my birthday 3 days ago. I had no use for it (my phone has enough space) so I gave it to my friend.
My friend installed a few games on it, everything working correctly. The next day he asked me for save files for GTA San Andreas.
He took the Micro-SD out and I put it in my phone as I normally do. I selected the save files, moved them to the card and they were transferred successfully.
After this I I took the Micro-SD out like I normally do (I did not unmount it). He put it in his phone and opened GTA, it failed to load the game.
He checked the Micro-SD with ES file explorer and it showed the files correctly. Some time after, the ES file explorer failed to load the SD card.
I tried the card with my phone too, my phone did not load any of the files either. It just shows "Micro-SD unreachable" in the Data management settings.
I also tried to connect it to my PC using a Micro-SD adapter, my computer does not recognize it when I connect it
What did go wrong? Also, is it possible to be fixed? The card is a Samsung 64GB Micro-SD
Any help is appreciated
Hi, it's the first time that I ask question at XDA forum.
below is my phone's status :
Samsung Galaxy S4 16GB
rooted
Android 4.3
have been factory reset yesterday
After reset, I can't download any files through any application, like ES file explorer, chrome, vpn gate, etc. It is reported that there is no SD card, or not enough storage lead to download failure.
But when I use the system Broswer, Play Store. I can download files from web SUCCESSFULLY .
Using File explorer, I can also checkup all the files in the SD card or device storage.
Carmera can also save the files to sd card.
What can I do?
I am unable to transfer files from my phone memory to my sd card.
I am also unable to transfer files from my pc to sd card in the phone. I have no issue transferring files from pc to phone memory.
I can view and open files on the sd card and the phone is able to play music and movies stored on the sd card.
Can anyone help me fix this issue?
Thanks!
I don't have such problem at all.
Try different file browsers like ES File Explorer and Astro.
If those do not work, try and factory reset your phone and ask for a replacement if the problem still persists after that.

Does the phone read the sd card? Do you have anything on it to access? If not I would suggest formatting the sd card.

The phone reads all the files on the sd card. I get an error that says Access denied when i copy a file from the phone memory to any folder on the SD card...however I get no error when I copy the files to the root SD card. It's weird...not sure whats going on.
You need to use the stock file manager to copy to the sd card or from the sd to internal as this is a "security feature" since Android lollipop. If you wish to use any other file explorer you MUST be rooted...

I use ES File Explorer and it works - and I won't root until ZTE posts full factory roms for the US version.
I still think there is some issue with the sd card that can be solved by formatting it - if the phone won't move files to it and the pc recognizes the phone but not the sd card how did you get files on it in the first place?

Not true. I just used Solid Explorer to copy files from internal memory to the SD card. There was an extra procedure of selecting the sd card in what looks like the stock storage selection menu thing (that also has Drive, Downloads etc) which was apparently necessary for Solid Explorer to get the necessary permission. Maybe it doesn't work with old file explorer apps that haven't implemented this solution, but it definitely works with Solid Explorer without root.
I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 SM-G900T.
I installed a new sd-card and formatted it using the phone's format feature. I had previously backed up all data to a pc.
I then put the newly formatted card into an adapter and copied the backed up data to the new card.
After re-installing the card in the phone and when to settings>system>storage and saw the new card there
I also opened Astro files explorer and ES File Explorer and the new card shows in both .
Now here is the thing, I went to settings> application manager and the option to move applications to the sd card does not exist.
Also when I started Navigon GPS application it said that some files needed to be downloaded but when I attempted to do so it errored saying no mmory card is installed...
