I just received my brand new note 3, and right after i turned it on connected to wifi it asked for update and i updated it. Then it doesnt recognise the sim etc. Now when i check on the phone info it says unknown baseband. And also when i want to check the imei it says imei (null).

Did you at least try to Google it ? 40 million people had this issue already. Just sayin'.
Sent from my N9005

need consultation and help pls

Hi this week I got a Note3 as a gift but I can't figure if its a verzion or not because the back of device its Samsung SM-N900 although the about device menu show its N900V
also when I go to download mode its say it N900P.
also when I checked the Imei on IMEI.info the website show its n9005
I need help please cuz I'm so confused if it original or not
and I can't know how to update it. the device run android 4.4.2 and I hope to update it for 4.4.4 or 5 .
If the phone is rooted then all of the information under "about phone" can be modified by editing the build.prop file. If there is still a sticker under the battery you can check there for the model number. If you boot into recovery then it shows the current build at the top. If the build starts with N900V then the OS is Verizon.
thank you for answer ... the sticker show its N900
but the download mode show its N900P
I test the device hardware by mobile info app and antutu benchmark
the resualt was my device have snapdragon MSM8974 (32bit) with adreno330 GPU
and hardware revision N900P.12
and score at antutu is 43K
so what is my real type of device and which stock 4.4.4 rom I can use
thank you for any help and excuse my bad english
N900P is Sprint

The phone can't be sprint if it has a SIM. No one is going to be able to offer any help without physically checking the phone. It sounds like it has been modified which means it's rooted. If you update to 4.4.4 or 5.0 then you'll loose root and any modifications. You should probably leave it as it is.

Something wrong with my Note 3

Hey guys
I don't know where to start but here we go
last week i bought a used Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ! on the system it shows Note 3 N9005 , and there's also the option of 4G/LTE so i was convinced that this is a N9005
everything works fine ; but the network signal is so weak and it only show " E " instead of " H " or " 4G "
And this is really what made me mad : When i verified the IMEI on several websites it shows That it's " a Note 3 N900 " !!!!! i couldn't believe that
cuz on the system it's N9005 ! on the Recovery it shows N9005 ! when i flashed a rom on it I used The N9005 Rom and it works ! on the boot logo it shows N9005
Only on imei verification it shows N900
So please is there any help ! what should i do ?
Run Phone Info from Play Store.
I don't know how to post images
It's not allowed to post images from an url
cuz this is my first post here
But on the app it shows N9005 also and everything is fine
i just can't understand
Weak Network >> Wrong Modem or Wrong settings /Wrong CSC .
IMEI wrong reads like its a stolen phone with a cloned IMEI .
Are you sure you have checked all in Phone Info .
Yeah everything in the app looks fine as a N9005
I tried even more apps wich shows informations about CPU and GPU and it shows the configuration that exist in N9005 not in N900
But whenever i check the imei it shows that this phone is N900 !!!!
I flashed it with several ROMs custum and official ! But nothing changes
Too weak network , it shows only "E"
My brother has the same model "Note 3 N9005" and he has no problem with network : 4G works like a charm ( we are on the same floor) so the problem is not from the network provider
Could you please tell how to change the modem or the CSC or whatever !! I really apreciate your help

is the IMEI at the back under the battery is the same as in About Phone or *#06#?
but i'm suspecting something wrong with your antenna... or you can try *#2263# and change to LTE only
and please do hard format i.e clear data & cache in recovery before and after flash for best result.
Your phone probably has been injected with superimei number. You need to find a repair shop that can rebuild your imei number (or a working superimei number).

Model Number Confusion in Note 4

Hi,
I recently purchased a second hand galaxy note 4. In settings menu, model number is showing sm-g910f. But in download mode, model number is sm-g910k! Is there any solution for this?
And also my private mode doesn't work. Every time I click on it, settings gets crashed. Plz help me.
Thanks in Advance
The model number in setting can be changed/edited, to be anything. The model number in download mode is the real one. You can confirm it by taking out the battery and look at the sticker inside the phone.
Just so you know N910F has Snapdragon, where N910K has Exynos.

Different model of S5 showing in about section and recovery of my phone

How can the phone model at the about section of my phone display SM-G900F while at the recovery and Odin mode it shows G900W8? How am I supposed to know the right model to flash if I want to upgrade the Android version from 4.4.2 to marshmallow?

Easiest way is to turn off the phone, take out the cover, remove battery and read the white label.
By the way, when I replied to your last post, it would have been polite to inform back if my suggestion was helpful or not.

Thanks for the reply. But how is it possible for different model software to be installed on a phone? All of the system applications show sm-g900w8 in Titanium backup and the label at the panel too shows sm-g900w8. My concern actually is if this is normal or the phone is just messed up. A quick analysis of the IMEI using the online IMEI analyser shows both sm-g900f and sm-g900w8 on the about section of the phone.
I'm sorry. I'm a bit new to this xda of a thing and the whole is a bit frustrating and overwhelming at times

As your phone is labelled - G900W8 what also is confirmed by the IMEI then no doubt what stock firmware you should flash. If "About the phone" info shows G900F it would mean that somebody meesed up by flashing different firmware (data from built.prop system file is used to display phone model in the settings).

Ok, but how do you explain the 'sm-g900f' showing at online IMEI analyser? When I checked the IMEI online, it was showing both g900f and g900w8. Here's a copy of the information obtained from IME info site about the phone's imei:
Information about your phone
Model: G900F Galaxy S5 (SM-G900W8)
Brand: SAMSUNG
IMEI: TAC: 352308 FAC: 06 SNR: 112738 CD: 8
In addition to this, here's what is also written on the same label that has sm-g900w8 as the phone's model:
IC: 649E-SMG900T
Making the third model that this ****ing phone has?

When I checked your IMEI on samsung IMEI checker it says: SM-G900W8.
Also, what is "IC" on your phone's label? I have following fields: "Model", "FCC ID", "SSN" etc. I don't have any "IC".

Infact, I don't know what that IC means too. Can I have the link to the Samsung IMEI checker? The website that showed up when I googled didn't display anything after entering the imei. The website nane is imeipro. Again, how could two websites show different information about an imei? imei.info shows the phone is both g900f and g900w8 but tend towards g900f in the details provided. Can someone even trust those imei sites?

To be honest you are digging too deep for this. I would just rely on what is written on the phone's label: "Model".
Here you have what I checked but I wouldn't rely on the checkers too much:
http://www.imeipro.info/samsung_imei_check.html
By the way if I were you I would remove the IMEI number from your previous post - it might be not safe to publish it.

Thanks, I think I'll just go for the g900w8. I appeared to be digging too much about this because I'm wary of bricking my phone. Thanks for all the helps
