Help with messaging limit - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently updated to temasek's cyanogenmod 11
Everytime I send a text message, it shows the pop up "Messaging is sending a large number of SMS".
And this pop up appears every single time I send a text message even when I did not reach the limit.
Previously when I was using official cm11, I was able to overcome this problem by going to the app info and changing the "send premium sms" option to always allow.
However in this rom, changing it does not make a difference. Whenever I go back to the app info page, it changes back to the ask option.
This is driving me crazy..
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Try another SMS app to see if the problem persists?

May be it is the firmware problem. Try to flash another rom/firmware.

Multiple SMS sending error

I recently started getting error while sending sms to multiple contacts. I sent around 400 sms messages to multiple contacts with no problem but suddenly it started showing error message and the message is not going through anymore...
This is the exact error message I'm getting ..
"com.android.mms A large number of SMS messages are being sent. Select "OK" to continue, or "Cancel" to stop sending."
If I send the message to a single number it still shows the error message but on pressing OK i can send the message.
But on Multiple contacts the error message is popping up the as same number of receipents.
Its annoying now..
Try resetting the phone by pulling the battery out with the phone on. See if that helps

Hi just tried with the reseting method you mentioned, its working now... but I'm going to try few messages to see if it continues to work now..
Hopefully that works for you. If not best bet is to contact HTC.

The problem has started again after sending roughly 100 messages to multiple contacts
is this a bug ?
Any permanent solution available for this problem?

HTC won't help... they will say to contact Google...
I have posted this issue on Google help forum as well... lets see how long will it take for Google to reply with a solution
Have you downloaded any 3rd party messaging apps/ apps in general?

It's ALWAYS better to avoid pulling the battery unless absolutely necessary! HTC phones usually have a button combination that will reboot the phone... in the N1's case, you hold down the Trackball + Power + Volume down for a second. It will reboot a second or two after you release the keys.
Is there any solution to this problem?
I am having this same problem on my Samsung galaxy gio with the CM 7.2
I was not having this problem on stock rom.

Cant send images

I cant send images to any number any more, this happend after being on Master Rom 1.1.4. Since then I have been on the Axura 2.0.1 rom, and now im on the one in the image below. And I have been un-able to send mms on any rom. Picture of the error I sometimes get below, other times It will just sit there "sending" the picture but it never sends and eventually just fails.

Even when I am not on edge it will not send, instead of the error message it just says "sending" for a long time and eventually fails to send saying "Error In server response".
Ok, well unfortunately it is still not working.
I have my APN at the factory settings. (I have tried every tmobile android apn i could find, none of them work)
I have data enabled (I have tried it both ways though)
I have tried it with wifi on and off.
I have tried reflashing my rom.
I have tried changing roms.
I am on the new version of Axura now, 2.0.5. still doesn't work.
I have tried sending while edge was disabled & enabled.
I just dont get why its not working, is there something I am just completely missing or what? I really need to get this working
when I had this problem I manually entered the recipients phone number and then the mms went through. after that it seemed to work ok.
I've been having this issue on and off.
It send fine to another operator, but t-mobile. And after a few tries it might send it to another tmo customer.
WP7 was dumb8ter's idea
I just started getting the error recently. I've also had troubles emailing pictures.
You have to enter the recipients phone number in manually. It has something to do with the 2.2 roms. No matter what 2.2 rom I try I get the same error message and only way I have found to fix it is to do what I just said. Or you can switch back to a 2.1 rom and it will work just fine

I don't have the issue when using the CM Mms.apk. The 2.2 mms app is buggy as hell.

[Q] Can send texts but can't receive them

UPDATE: Full details on how I solved this problem can be found here.
I'm on CM6--haven't upgraded yet.
A couple of days ago, I stopped being able to receive text messages. I can send text messages and everyone gets them (confirmed).
I have Google Voice (GVoice) installed on my phone and if someone sends a text to that number, the phone pulls it down and displays it fine. However, if someone sends a text to my Sprint number, no go.
The only odd thing that I can think of that happened a couple of days ago was that I got an international text (from the UK) and I think it's since then that I've not been able to receive any texts.
I tried to uninstall Handcent and used the default Messaging app, but no luck. Anyone have any idea what might be going on?
Just as additional information, I called Sprint and they checked my MEID and said it was wrong and the phone needed to be "refreshed". Is my MEID # different from what they have because it's rooted?
Wait first try installing another rom. Or you could just upgrade to cm7,cm6 is too old. Then when you install another rom try texting again.

Thanks Jadden.
I think I know what the problem might be. More details here. Basically, My MIN on my phone doesn't match what Sprint has for my MSID. Confirmation these need to be the same found here.
I am going to install another ROM first--a stock one, and am following the steps I documented here.
Hey, this has happened to me randomly twice before, same exact situation. Didn't matter what ROM I tried, it just wouldn't work. After a while I found the solution was to clear all data settings/reactivate the phone on Sprint's network. I don't remember the exact steps since I'm on CM7, but on a sense rom, go into EPST, and find the option to clear the data settings. Once you do this, it'll say like reactivating service or something, and it'll be fixed. Let me know if it works or you need more help.
all u have 2 do is (if not on a sense rom):
1. nandroid once in recovery
2. wipe all (3x jes to be sure)
3. flash a SENSE ROM (not AOSP)
4. in settings, update profile, den update PRL
5. nandroid back to ur old ROM
if on sense rom, do JUST step 4
ur MEID will match once u do this... n everythi g will be back 2 normal

Sometimes the solution is super simple. Go to Google Voice settings, under the phones tab, click EDIT on your cell phone, then make sure the e text messages on this phone is clicked. Save. This turned off once on me for unknown reason. Drove me crazy trying to figure out why I couldn't get messages.
You need to update your PRL

I gave that a shot. It didn't work.

For me, I had to make sure "Notifications via text message" was ticked in the Google Voice settings. This took me three different nandroid, PRL updates and reboots to figure this out.
I like using the EVO native messaging app and for some reason this option was randomly unchecked during some upgrade.
Same problem
I'm having the same problem as of a few days ago, and I don't quite understand what you did to fix it?
Any help would make me happy. I've been fighting with this for several days, I'm out of ideas.

[Help] Repeated Duplicate Messages

I am constantly getting duplicate messages thrice for each message I receive. I am using Go SMS App and surely it's not network problem because I had this problem with different network also and by goggling it, it's looks like I am not the only one. Very annoying to receive one message three or even four times. I have disable message notification in stock message app though it's not duplicate notification issue but SMS itself. When I say every, I do mean 'every' SMS.
had this rpob :/ i think i reflashed to fix it
u knw wat , i had d exact same issue when i started to use go sms pro first.. but not now.. how it stopped, dunno.. :/

Had this problem too. Was annoying as my friends were also getting multiple messages from me. Also with GoSMS Pro. I noticed it really didn't play nice when I was also using Smartdog Studio's Remote Web Desktop.
Think the problem went away when I reflashed.
I did re flashed many times but problem never went away

What i noticed is when you are in a particular thread and that very same person messages you that very moment when you are in his name thread, you tend to received that message twice...
It happens everytime, not only when I open Go Sms app. Interval between duplicated messages is usually b/w 2-5 minutes.

My Nexus doesn't care for some things sent from iphones, for instance, contact cards ad slide shows. I just assumed it was an incompatibility between formats.
I seem to be having the same problem it shows me a notification for the message but when clicked on it sends me to the compose no message or the original msg thread.
For me what seems to be the issue is I turn off data or have wifi on and the message wont come through
