Is it hard to replace the front frame ? Mine is cracking up and some pieces is already fallen of from the front frame.
DO you have an video guide or something that show the steps ?
Is there something that ruin the warranty when i do this like a tape or something ?
Hello,
Warranty will be voided also unscrewing a single screw.
Front frame it's a piece fused with display and touchscreen making the whole part a single assembly, changing the frame only it's too hard since you basically need to detach these parts (they are hard-glued) and it's very very simple to break or ruin something

I've decided to go naked with my Nexus 4. Having dropped it once already and cracking the back, I'm curious what would be involved with fixing a front display crack.
The LCD display is located behind the digitizer glass, so if you manage to break it without breaking the exterior glass then I'd be impressed (without opening the phone from the opposite side).
wait i think i'm mistaken, so the actual glass that i'm touching is the digitzer?
i'm under the assumption that it's glass>digitizer>lcd display and that when the phone drops, only the glass breaks. my question under that assumption again is does the digitizer also get damaged?
Well you are correct, the digitizer is the thin sensor layer behind the glass, but the trend with touchscreen phone is they're glued in together with the glass as a single unit, and I don't think they even sell them separately.

There is a youtube video to replace the glass/digitizer, but its looks like it will require some patience. It doesn't help that LG tape the digitizer to the LCD to make them seamless as well, making the process harder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paRc_n4uB8s
Hello !
I broke the rear glass which protects the rear camera lens. I've the piece I need on aliexpress so I assume there is a way to replace it. I know you can dismantle the back frame and have access to it thanks to a youtube video. I'd like to know how the glass is stuck to the back frame. Is it glued ? Is it mechanical ? Do you know a way to remove it without breaking anything else / splling glue everywhere ?
In case you're wondering, I broke it simply by not using a protective case. I don't know who's the stupidest : the engineer who designed a phone with a piece of glass protruding from the back plate, or the guy who buys that phone.
Have a great day.
Hi all,
My v20 h990 outer frame glass are broken.
It's berley seen but the whole screen is broken.
The good new it that the phone acts fine no dead areas so digitizer are in perfect shape.
My question is if i can replace the outer glass screen without screw the whole phone up?
In fixit and youtube videos i can see that thay taking the whole phone down to parts but it involves replacing the digitizer.
I order the part without the digitizer now the only question is if I can heat up the outer frame and replace the part without screw the whole thing up.
Thanks

Have you learned how to replace glass alone. I have same issue but all videos show digitizer and glass together.
Could you post a link showing what part you have?
Got same issue have you able to replace the outer glass?
Hi there,
my S8 is slightly bent due to a crash with my bike. The screen is shattered, the digitizer and the glass are broken, too.
Now's my question: does the S8 have a separate frame in which the screen/glass-set is placed or is this frame (seen as the aluminum sides on the outside) part of the screen/glass-set which will be replaced by the repair shop?
I'm asking so I'll know if the bend-problem will be fixed with the screen/glass-replacement or if they'll try to charge more for it.
thank you!

aluminum frame isn't part of screen dont worry
You can change just the screen, or some screens will come with the frame, but the latter requires you to transfer all of the components. Have a look on ifixit, search Galaxy S8 screen replacement on google and read the ifixit guide:
Use this guide to replace a cracked or broken display on your Samsung Galaxy S8.
Note: This guide instructs you to replace only the display while leaving the original frame, logic board, and battery in place. However, some replacement screens for this phone come pre-installed in a new frame (a.k.a. chassis), which requires a very different procedure—transplanting your phone's internals and installing a new battery. Make sure you have the correct part before starting this guide.
This guide involves removing the rear glass cover, you will need replacement adhesive to reattach the back cover to the phone. If your replacement screen does not come with adhesive, you will need to use tape to secure it as well.
If the frame is damaged or bent, it's important to replace it, or else the new screen may not mount correctly and can suffer damage from uneven pressure.
The process of separating the display from the frame usually destroys the display, so don't follow this guide unless you intend to replace the display.
Hi everyone !
I dropped my Samsung S10+ last weekend and the front glass broken, but the screen are working fine.
I know that this kind of damage are not covered by Samsung warranty, so I checked with some local repair shop.
No one seem to replace just the glass, their replace the screen and the glass together, this mean, a expensive reparation cost.
I asked them why their don't replace only the glass, but I only receive anwser like 'We don't replace glass, we change the screen who come with the glass"
Do you know why their won't replace the glass only ?
I seen on Amazon some front glass at only 40$ CAD with tool, UV adhesive and lamp. I confortable to do it myself. I watched some videos, but seem that everyone dissasemble the phone completly to change the glass on the screen.
Why not just removing the glass directly ?
Thank you for your anwser !
I think it is because the oled panels in this phones are so thin that separating the front glass from them would break them.
