It seems that the network is disconnected when the screen is off. It's a problem if you have something running (like a torrent download).
Anyone knows how to fix this?

have you set wifi sleep policy to never..? Else.. Do this: under wifi settings, go to advanced tab, select wifi sleep policy and select never....

actually amazon removed access to the wifi sleep policy setting.
Set the screen to not sleep. Widgetsoid is awesome for their widget to control this.

Hack into the database of the settings like what was done to enable some other settings?

I'm doing that now (aDownloader has this option too). But it isn't the best solution, since the screen remains on consuming power.
Since this option is present in standard Android (my SGSII has too), maybe we can just edit some hidden settings file. Any idea?
This worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19592319

WOW! Nice work!
And maybe a simpler way is to edit the settings.db directly in Fire with SQLite Editor?

I'm sure you could. I just like to do things manually Lol.
Wake lock powermanager from the Android market. It allows you to take out a variety of locks on the system one of which is the wake lock. Since the device isn't sleeping wifi shouldn't go off. It can also take out a lock for the screen to keep it on if that's what it takes on the Fire. I use it on my old Archos tablet running 1.5 (cupcake) which needs the wake lock to keep any music player working. But I think one of the lock types it supports should be something that works on the Fire. The only apps I use that need wifi also keep the screen on like the video player so I've not installed it myself on my Fire.

I'm using a Honor 7 (PLK-L01) so not sure if its the same for you guys. I had to set a data limit in the traffic reminder settings and after that the option to enable/disable "Display network speed" appeared.
Guyz first of all u need to set Monthly Data Limit. Only after that the desired option will appear. Cheers
I did set the Monthy Data Limit, but the Display network speed option didn't appear. B575.

1. Settings -> App -> Phone Manager
2. Tap Storage -> Clear Data
But this did not help me to get back my connection speed on Mate 7
Using mate 8 on Emui 4.1 can't find the network speed indicator.

from that screen (as in the picture), go back one step ...
Go to Traffic Reminder Settings (now you must be very quick, as it will appear only for few milliseconds.), it will appear right above "lock screen data reminder".

I'm experiencing a problem with accessibility, when I activate accessibility for an app it would automatically turn of the accessibility after a short while. I am unable to use anything related to turning on accessibility services for any app because of this problem.
Any help or solution with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

You can solve this by adding that app to protected apps in your phone manager battery section..... It surely works
Tried that already, doesn't work for me. :crying:
Hey guys, i have a small issue here with my apps.
Some of the apps like Tasker and Gravity Screen do not auto start on boot since i rooted my op5, i have selected them to run at boot.
My profiles on Tasker don't switch until i turn the screen on, even some of the apps like TB which i run on schedules during the night are not working.
Its like when my screen is off, all background activities stop, however WhatsApp and similar apps are working fine.
Could anyone pls guide me to a possible solution.
I know this is a strange request since mostly people ask how to stop the background activity, I'm asking the exact opposite.
Appreciate your help.
Try to turn off battery optimization for those specific apps.

Yep, this should do it. I did face this issue for one of the Xposed modules and I turned off battery optimization for that app and it worked flawless.

You don't need to turn off battery optimizations for those apps. Just simply turn off OnePlus's "Advanced optimisation" feature and it should work without turning off the battery optimizations for those apps.
You can do that by going to Settings -> Battery -> Battery optimisation -> Three dot menu (⋮) -> Advanced optimisation -> Turn off.
You can also pinned these apps in recent apps section.

It's supposed to be on by default. That's how OnePlus wanted it. You need to turn it off.

I don't remember it being on or maybe i turned it off, but anyways i checked it before posting the issue here.
Keeping it off didn't make any difference for me. Guess OnePlus's basic optimisation itself is good enough.

I am not sure about this specific app, but some apps don't work correctly with Oreo yet. Try to check if it is compatible.
I personally use Betterbatterystats and haven't had issues yet.
