Hey guys, i have a small issue here with my apps.
Some of the apps like Tasker and Gravity Screen do not auto start on boot since i rooted my op5, i have selected them to run at boot.
My profiles on Tasker don't switch until i turn the screen on, even some of the apps like TB which i run on schedules during the night are not working.
Its like when my screen is off, all background activities stop, however WhatsApp and similar apps are working fine.
Could anyone pls guide me to a possible solution.
I know this is a strange request since mostly people ask how to stop the background activity, I'm asking the exact opposite.
Appreciate your help.

Yep, this should do it. I did face this issue for one of the Xposed modules and I turned off battery optimization for that app and it worked flawless.

Didn't notice oos had optimisation turned on by default for all apps.

You don't need to turn off battery optimizations for those apps. Just simply turn off OnePlus's "Advanced optimisation" feature and it should work without turning off the battery optimizations for those apps.
You can do that by going to Settings -> Battery -> Battery optimisation -> Three dot menu (⋮) -> Advanced optimisation -> Turn off.
You can also pinned these apps in recent apps section.

I never turned on advanced optimisation, still the apps wouldn't run in the background.

It's supposed to be on by default. That's how OnePlus wanted it. You need to turn it off.

I am also facing a problem with wakelock detector app, its not working properly, giving error. Any ideas?

I don't remember it being on or maybe i turned it off, but anyways i checked it before posting the issue here.
Keeping it off didn't make any difference for me. Guess OnePlus's basic optimisation itself is good enough.

I am not sure about this specific app, but some apps don't work correctly with Oreo yet. Try to check if it is compatible.
I personally use Betterbatterystats and haven't had issues yet.

I'm still using Nougat, stock oos rooted. Been using wld since kitkat, first time seen this error.

I couldn't find a solution anywhere that was causing the battery drain for "MediaServer". The two process were "AudioOut_2" and DirectTrack. I don't have viber installed. What are these processes in the "MediaServer" and what purpose do they serve?
UPDATE: I found out that the process using those services is called "1013". How do i figure out what application is it?

To reduce or eliminate the audio out, turn off all key tones and vibration. Don't know what direct track is.

I dont have Apollo. I only have PowerAmp and the Stock Samsung player.
Settings > Sound
Uncheck "Touch sounds"
Uncheck "Screen lock sound"
monitor your battery performance. i believe 1013 is system sounds. someone correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks i'll try it and report back if the issue persists.
UPDATE: The issue has returned again but this time MediaServer and Android System are draining battery. Screenshots attached
I wouldn't worry about this issue I've seen this on every android device ive owned. It will randomly come and go.

so I thought I would try and disable google.app battery life is much better seems the no 1 battery draining issue on the edge try it now you will find it in a folder select more from menu then disable it.

Well I for one don't use Google now anyway, I don't use Google plus either, or Google Drive, so there's no need to have those process running no matter what.
I tried to disable Google now and bam my battery consumption overnight dropped from 15% to 3-4% and the phone would actually enter deep sleep - something I've had trouble with the entire time (I'm using a custom kernel with the deep sleep fix, so it shouldn't be because I'm rootet)

Just disable the google.app
there's no need to disable the google.app to prevent the battery drain, it's sufficient to open the settings menu of that app and deactivate the google now cards..

Another tip I found that worked drain your battery to about 8 % then do a hard reset by powering down and hold volume up and home button and power button together once you see the logo let go of power.This bring you into recovery eventually once there wipe data factory reset and catch partition and reboot phone.Now disable the apps you want including google.app I now got 20hrs standby with 0% battery drain was still showing 100% battery awesome battery life try it and let me know how it goes don't forget to give it a full charge after resetting the phone good luck

'cause in that way you can still use the search functions of the google app, including the "ok Google" hotword.. But preventing the battery drain caused by the Google now cards..

Ok, but the goal here is prevent the battery.. And the suggestion to disable the google app it's for that.. But if there's a solution to leave the app activated in order to use it when it could be helpful, why instead you would disable it? It's a nonsense.. Google now is the cause of the battery drain, not the google search.. So it's sufficient to disable Google now and continue to enjoy the google search and the ok Google hotword..
I'm experiencing a problem with accessibility, when I activate accessibility for an app it would automatically turn of the accessibility after a short while. I am unable to use anything related to turning on accessibility services for any app because of this problem.
Any help or solution with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's automatically turned off when you close the application, such freeing the RAM..

You can solve this by adding that app to protected apps in your phone manager battery section..... It surely works
Tried that already, doesn't work for me. :crying:
Just got the update to nougat earlier this week and was hoping it would solve the high android system drain but i've noticed all these wake locks and honestly i'm not familiar with wake locks so if anyone can help me out here. My phone wont go into deep sleep.
Looks to be a kernal problem. Anyone have any idea?

Oh I've already tried that. I also cleared my cache from recovery and from the settings
For battery drain there are few known culprits
1. Disable chrome
2. Disable Gear vr service if you don't use.
3. Disable all other bloatware
4. Disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning
5. Disable Android and Google (both) report diagnostic report from setting
6. Location to battery saving or off.
7. Smart features off.
I'm sure excess drain will go irrespective of what wld shows.

Have the chrome that came pre-loaded disabled but I use chrome dev. Disabled gear vr. I kept other bloat enabled that's under the hood, heard if you disable some of that stuff it could cause a bigger drain. Diagnostic report is off, location is on battery saving, I use smart stay and smart alert, have smart capture off.

Yes only disable stuff that you can from app drawer.
Is Google location reporting on or off that is also a big drainer.

And use BBS please. It has nothing to do with kernel, it's impossible to pinpoint without partial wake lock and the other issue you have it carrier signal related, fast dormancy

Does bbs work with unrooted devices?
Use BBS and network connections app to see if any app is keeping network on all the time

Update: Have BBS installed and have it working through adb. So now all i do is wait several hours?

Yes. I know it's pain in the ass to set everything up again but it is a major change, from one iteration to another of the system and common sense screams factory reset .

the app "feedback" drains at least 10% battery for each charge even if I disable the background activity.
The app cannot be disabled nor deleted.
Anything to do to avoid this issue?

I have not had a problem with it, have you tried deleting the app data?

Where are you getting the 10% figure from, is it "apps usage" displayed under battery or in app info?
Only in app info
Install gsam battery manager, give it the proper authorizations (via adb or root if you are rooted).
Then post a screenshot again.

I thought you were looking in App info, that information is for more than one app, like the data figure it is the app and associated processes, if you click on battery and scroll down, you will see real usage by app, and feedback won't appear in that list because it's not using much at all.
My own was saying 10% but when I look under battery stats the highest usage was Google at 7%, Feedback App did not even appear in the list.
