ok guy's and gal's ,just want some good feedback on this phone.i used to have the g1 when it first came out ,had it for a while .up till about 6 mth's ago .then i sold it got a touch pro 2 .i love android but after the stuff with google pulled on Cyan .wasn't sure were all this was going.but know been looking to get back in .with the power and memory look's like partitioning the memory card will be no more .i know you can have root on this one to and it just came out ! so let me know on this phone what ya think.i read about battery life thread but that seem's to be the first place everyone go's to.i want to now how you like it for everyday use and if you are rooted it or not .thank' s for the imput.
Short answer...love it....can't think of a better device...wish the gps/compass was fixed sooner rather than later though...
I did root it as soon as I read the instructions via adb...glad to have wireless tether running and glad I don't have to worry about partitioning the sd card or having swap etc..
I think we all complain about some of the things on the phone but I mean what phone doesn't have its share of complaints? I think the general consensus is that most people love it =)

very good to here !ya what phone don't have complaint's lol well keep it coming thank's everone.
I'm rooted and absolutely love this phone.. I have no GPS problems and get locks fast... the screen is beautiful and amazes people everytime they see it. The camera is pretty good for me as its just a phone camera but takes awesome shots. The night mode kinda makes up for the lack of camera flash but once again no biggie. The compass is wack but whatever I don't use it. ..
The 720 p recording is awesome and takes great videos I was impressed.
The games are insane on this thing. The 3d graphics on this super amoled screen is just amazing, I actually play games now one my phone.. the screen is super responsive and the Multitouch is flawless vs the nexus one (came from it)..
All in all I love this. Oh I also get no slow downs either... and the memory is awesome no need for apps2sd or ever check my memory... fantastic phone way better than my old n1 IMO...
Best phone I've ever used/owned.
thank's everyone i think i'm sold.going to have to get one !well let's keep this thread going for all !
I absolutely love mine. Had it since launch. i used my gps for the first time two days ago and it worked fine for the most part. Im also unrooted at the moment. I also came from a g1 so from me to you, it's a good choice to go with.
Loving mine so far. My GPS takes a bit to lock on sometimes but its usually only after google maps crashes and locks up the phone. A manual restart usually solves it and I get a quick lock.
Screen is beautiful, responsive and just the right size. The phone is light and thin which I like and battery life has been getting better for me. With my latest cycle, light use mind you, i'm at almost 23 hours since charge and im at 58% battery left using Juice Defender.
This phone gets my recommendation.
If you want to use Layar, Google Sky Map, Wikitude, or any other Augmented Reality app, prepare to be disappointed. The compass problem really sodomizes all those apps' ability to know which way you're facing. It was so bad I returned mine before my 14 day remorse period was up. If they manage to fix it in software, I might get a new one, but it remains to be seen whether their fix will be adequate.
It took a lot to get the G1 out of my hands but this phone is just so much better in terms of performance, stability and usability. It does take a day or so to get used to the different feel and button placement but other than that - I would say go for it!
Pros:
CPU/GPU
Camera
Performance speed
16gb on board and still room for a SD card
screen
weight
thinness
Android
Cons:
GPS/Compass (lets hope they fix it)
No flash on camera
Cheap build quality (volume button is flimsy)
plastic feel kinda cheap
old iphone like design
Touchwiz
Samsungs future support is questionable.
Overall its a great phone with great hardware especially if you are on Tmobile. If you can look past the cheap design and the GPS issues that might be fixed in the future then you will enjoy the phone. If you want a higher quality feeling phone and solid support I would hold for a HTC phone.
I bought the phone and generally happy with it I just hope all the kinks are worked out.
thank's again everyone ,hope this will help others if they are wondering about it to !
so i got the g2 around 3 days ago, overall the phone is just amazing, i love the design and more, here's a list of what i love:
design
materials used are perfect!
when keypad closed it feels sturdy, heavy, i love that!
a "pure" version of droid, fast good looking, love it!
excellent battery life ( im a heavy texter, internet user and i can still get a full day with no recharging )
BLAZING FAST!, internet in hspa+ is ridiculously fast, and the entire experience of the phone is fast as well
what i hate:
hinge design.... the phone has a little play and when keyboard open, it feels flimsy.
a crap load of apps that can't be uninstalled
only 1.2 gb of usable memory instead of the 4 promised.
so what do you guys think? i would give this phone an 9 out of 10, to me is the best android device out there, and it will be that way for a good time, opinions?
You should probobly get this moved to the "Tmobile: Vision G2" forum.

9 out of 10 is about just right. or maybe 8.5 at the moment, just missing full root access, and a front face cam. if it did then perfect 10!

i couldn't agree more! in fact, i was waiting for the mytough 4g... but i tried it at the store and it was just.... i dont know it wasn't my favorite, it feels cheap, and just not good, plus the ui is awful... is perfect for a 14-15 year old
so anyone else want to comment?

Hey, that is mildly offensive. I was 15 until not too recently, yet I completely prefer the G2.
I'm sure he means the stereotypical 15 year old.

I find the mytouch 4g pretty immature in the user interface as well. The g2 design is top class, I can not find a better phone with similar or better materials other than the nexus one. Kind of reminds me of the g1 and the mytouch 3g, I thought the mytouch 3g was so ugly compared to the g1, kinda like how the g2 and mytouch 4g is today. (I even took the g1 instead of the mytouch when the mytouch 3g was out 2 years ago despite better hardware) Might just be me though.
no intent to offend hahaha but yeah just the stereotypical 15 year old that really doesn't know his stuff with phones and thinks that the ui is so pretty and butt kicker and has facebook app and twitter and is just kewl... lol
g2 i think is the choice as now for android phones.... i just might say is the best one out there for now, talking hardware and software wise. in one word is just sexy as hell LOL
I read a lot on this forum but dont post much. I havent seen a lot of positive things about the the new Tab. I just have to say I am very happy with my purchase so far. I was able to walk into my local Best Buy after 6pm on launch day and pick up a white 32GB. Funny thing is the Website stated they had 3 white and 4 black 32GB and when I got there they said all they had was the black. To make a long story short the Best Buy employee actually had to open the box and look at the Tab itself to tell if it was white or black. Apparently there is no way to tell on the outside of the box(I would assume the model number would). Anyways, I have owned the Xoom,Iconia and the Playbook and none of them hold a candle to this. Honeycomb does have a long way to go, however I do think this is a giant step foward in the right direction.
Please leave your experience so far if you are happy
never had a tablet before so nothing to compare it to, but so far I really dig it!
Ill join you on the happy part. Ive had my tab since Tuesday and I'm loving it. I haven't run into any of the issues that have been posted in some of the other threads. I'm in love with the fluu blown multitasking. I can easily jump app to app without loosing a spot. Perfect for those copy and paste situations.
Some of my favorite apps...
News360/Pulse
Native YouTube app
Thumb keyboard (must have)
PlayOn (yay hulu and Netflix)
Weatherbug for tablets
Grooveip

I just got mine today, too. White, 16GB
I asked for a Grey 32GB one, but they had none. I still wanted a Grey one, but even though they had it in stock, they gave me a white one, and I didn't notice till I got home. They even ran out of keyboard docks too. Oh well, I'm stuck with this one now.
After a few hours of use, I started to wonder about all the negative posts and reviews on XDA and everywhere else. I do notice certain points, like how browser lags when typing, but it seemed minor to me since I noticed that the key presses still recognized, and I was surprisingly accurate and fast using it, despite this being the first tablet I've ever owned.
Games are pretty and crisp. I've only experienced some minor lag in Plants vs. Zombies at the end of each stage, otherwise it played well.
A great experience so far.
i am happy with the tab but honeycomb needs some work.
I've had mine since *** yesterday *** and am happy with it. The one thing that I wish I could do is color calibrate the screen. While the bright, cartoonish color is liked by many, I would like to be able to calibrate the screen for more accurate color to display photos and play the videos that I shoot. Even with my 32GB unit, I am missing the microSD slot that I have on the Nook Color.
I'm very happy with mine. Sure, it has some issues, but nothing too bad and I believe most of them will be fixed by software updates in the future.
It's rather obvious, but all big smiles here too
Just to state a few, easy to the eye and ears(quality build, screen, speakers), easy to carry and hold(super light, thin, with textured back), responsive, fast and versatile OS (widgets thrive, google apps reign, multimedia a beauty to run, even if it currently has a few glitches like lag in typing in certain websites boxes).
Just loving it!
I'm loving it so far. Honeycomb does have some issues to work out.
One thing that is truly bothering me is the lack of quick controls in the browser.
The official accessories not being available is also annoying.
But man o man I'm loving the hardware ,the screen ,and the form factor.
I have a 16 grey and I'm very pleased with my purchase. At the time I wanted a 32 but best buy had none in stock. I also have an unlocked version so I'm scared to return it can't wait for some custom kernels to fix some lag this thing has. Other then that I am very pleased. Honeycomb does need work. Hopefully the touchwiz update fixes some lag. I no it usually just bloats the system but this version seems nice! A few software kinks but love it! Can't wait for ICS (open source) that should fix pretty much everything for ow though very happy

This tablet will essentially replace my phone for in house usage. Loving it so far, only wish the app support was better.
I'm digging it. I sincerely hope with the 5k that were given to devs we'll get more support!
I'm very pleased with this tablet. It feels much nicer to hold than my previous tablet.
Can someone with a 16GB tell me what their total space available is showing? Mine's at 13GB. I could have swore it was 14.2GB or somewhere around there.
I'm also very happy with mine, I actually have no problems with Honeycomb itself -- but more apps need to support it. Thumb Keyboard + News360 + Flash 10.3 + Dolphin HD + YouTube + Samurai II = my Sunday.
I just got it! By a coincidence it arrived the same day as the iPad2 I bought for my uncle, and I did a comparison side by side. Although I am used to iOS (I have an iPhone), I immediately felt honeycomb as more flexible, out of the box, than iOS. As for Aesthetic, I can say that the GT feels much lighter than the iPad, I can handle it better.
In few words: I am really happy, so far.
I've had mine since Friday. I love the look and feel of the GT. It looks and feels much better than the Xoom, in my opinion (I had a Xoom for just under 2 weeks) and it's definitely lighter than the Xoom. I compared it to my gf's iPad 2 and it is a little bigger, but feels lighter. So I love this tablet.
I don't love the lack of tablet optimized apps or the lack of Netflix or Google Movies. Compared to the iPad it's definitely lacking in those areas, but the tablet itself and honeycomb are excellent.
I've had my LE I/O version for about a month now and absolutely love it. It's light, feels great in my hands, it's fast, I even love Honeycomb... Not sure why so many people complain about it. Hopefully over the next few months we'll start seeing more HC versions of apps.
edit: forgot to mention the battery life is freakin amazing. I can go 3-5 days with moderate usage and it won't die.
Got one from Amazon. So far happy with it. Need to look into how to root and OC the cpu.
The smartbench 2011 score is less than Viewsonic (OCed to 1.4Ghz).
Im absolutely in love with my tablet
Well, I have to admit that so far I ampretty in love with this tablet. The screen is amazing and the weight and thickness make this feel really nice in the hand. I am really enjoying honeycomb so far and do not see any problems so far. I was kinda worried about buying this but I am relieved. I also really love the look of it. I have the grey one and it looks really nice. So far I am a happy tablet owner

just used my wife's upgrade to get a razr m (she is the best wife in the world), upgraded from an incredible 2. What do you guys think about your phone,is there any known problems or is it just as rugged as it feels I chose this one over the incredible 4g because it seemed a little snappier and fit my hand well and jellybean was a nice surprise. :highfive:
Thanks and look forward to learning from the smarter people than me
I like it =)
dont drop it ? LOL
Be smart with taking photos, since its cam isnt the strong point.
Else rock on and use it !!! Its awesome =)
I got my Nexus 6 yesterday and I just wanted to say I love this thing. It's so snappy and feels amazing in the hand. The screen is ultra crisp. The sound is also very good and the stereo sound sweet. The battery isn't the best I've had (though I've only had it one day) but it's not bad by any means. I'm glad I got it.
I'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus so for me the initial battery impression was.... "Wait, i've been using the phone for 10 minutes how do i still have 98% battery and not 85%?"
I'm sure it will continue to amaze me. I had no problem activating on Verizon either. Unfortunately no speed tests yet as i'm 48 stories above manhattan and service up here is terrible on the best days. I'm hoping i can get XLTE speeds but I'm not crossing my fingers on VoLTE though.
Yeah, I just got mine earlier today. The tap setup from my N5 worked beautifully, although not EVERYTHING came over. I still had to setup my widgets, and a few apps, but it was no big deal. I think the only app I lost was Redbox, which is weird because it worked just fine on my N5 with lollipop, but it doesn't even show up in the Play Store on my N6.
Otherwise, I love everything about this phone. I haven't had it long enough to really say what works and what doesn't, but first impressions are fantastic. I'm really digging that the screen is now 5 icons wide. Enabled me to reorganize things a bit and drop down to 2 home screens (from 3). Nice surprise there.
At the moment, my only gripe is that it's a fingerprint magnet. I thought my N5 was bad, but the N6 (both front and back) makes the N5 look downright fingerprint-proof. I'm going to be wiping this thing down... a lot... I can already tell.
Does the phone feel premium? Does it feel solid in your hand? I feel the N4 was nice and solid vs the N5 being light. How is the weight in your hand?

Yeah it seems some apps haven't clicked whatever needs to be clicked to show up for Nexus 6. I was looking forward to trying out TiVo streaming on my 6 before rooting (since it doesn't work on my rooted 5), but there is no version that shows up for this device.

It feels premium to me. Very solid with appropriate weight for a device this size. It feels great in the hand, after initially being a bit shocked by its size after my second day with it, its pretty boss!!
Anyone notice that the power control widget is missing/gone? I use it all the the time like auto brightness and sync.
Haha the red box app wasn't available on my note 4 either ( I'm here because I'm still in my 14 day window) so i uses an apk. I played with it at the store today and was impressed.

I keep reading how people are saying its heavy. I actually love that about phones. Not saying I want to carry a brick around, but I want to know its there. I loved that about the OPO. Not neccesarily heavy but it had a weight to it that said, "HEY, I'm right here!!"

In my opinion it feels very premium. The curved back makes it very comfortable despite being so big. It feels very solid as well.
It really feels good in hand. It's big but not too big for a phablet. I can get my hands around it for use. As for any negatives. Coming from a LG G2, not having tap to wake is really killing me considering it has this feature and Google turned it off. I hope they can turn it on for a future update. Other than that it's fantastic!

Would be nice to have it natively but yeah.

I've seen similar reviews saying the phone was hevay. I wouldn't say it's heavy but that the weight is very centered. it feels really nice in the hand. The M dimple also helps with one handed use as I find myself using it to hold the phone in portrait.
