Not Android, but looks drool worthy.

Looks good, wonder if it will run android?
Looks like it probably would.. if it doesn't already. The specs all looks similar to android phones...
Are you retarded? It runs Maemo software designed by Nokia. It could run android but it won't.
looks very nice a little big though

wow reading the specs i was just like "wow" lol ... if someone is able to run android on it successfully i might have to leave my g1 behind... :\
its got an arm processor so it could run android(theoretically) this would run hero sooooooooooooo easily the only thing that would put me off this device is the 3 row keyboard ewww

I agree, 3 row is inferior. But ya know, I'll take that over on-screen or standard dial pad any day.
I'm hoping that ARM cores are doing the same thing as x86 did in the past, running more cycles at a lower clock speed. May only be a 72 mhz jump over the dream's Qualcomm, but the performance increase may more than you'd expect.... hopefully.

Isn't Maemo Linux based? It could be hackable...

The device description says "Linux-based operating system". An Android-Port might be doable.
Plus the N900 has AWS(1700/2100) support... so T-Mobile US release in the next few months?
Very impressive and so kool!
Maemo is linux based device built on Debian system struct with gnome
Any information about system specs requirement?
is there way to hack it to run on another device?
WOW, finally I have found a substitute for my G1... Maemo is a very interesting system, and the hardware is Nokia; yes, when the price will become human (for me 300-350 euros) I consider the idea to buy it.
Asking to get Android on a Maemo device is like saying you want to get windows mobile on your windows UMPC.

Looks like it according to Tmonews.com. The FCC approved it a few days ago, so it shouldn't be long.
Here's the N810 running Android.

And here's something more interesting

This device is extremely capable, maemo is an an open source OS, more open than Android.

Can you please post some good links on which you based your last statement? I'm curious about maemo and would like to see how it's more open than Android. I'm surprised to see another open-source contender already...
opensource till T-mo get their hands on the rom. This IS an impressive phone. I was saving my upgrade for the MyTouch, looks like I might wait for this.

Yeah, I have an upgrade and was disappointed by the Mytouch, so decided to hold off and see what other Android phones t-mo had in the pipeline. I want something with a hardware keyboard. Anyway, check out this video of the N900 intro by Nokia...my mouth is watering!
It looks like it has flash built in too! AAaaargh!!!

Hi,

[ROM] Clean ROM - Stock UI - RTM 8858 Base - Focus v1.3 - 7.8 Official
Cheers, Septvies
Thanks
Thanks a lot, i will surely try them out!
But, i have seen one thing, unlike Android, the number of roms available for Windows phones are so less.

Imho, you're wrong. The way I see it, in this order, Android is
1. an open platform - which makes it easier to find specs, look at thousands of Chinese spin-offs based on it; plus it's already well documented although coding for it is a mess (compatibility)
2. a more widespread platform - which makes the user base way larger than any other competitor
3. an older platform = which makes for time to develop for it
I would really like to know what is it missing when you say "(much) less". And please, please don't say apps. A platform is measured first in capabilities and only secondary in apps. By definition, a Smartphone is a phone with advanced computing capability and connectivity. After reading many, many reviews and comparison sites such as ZDNet, TechRadar, Cnet, TheVerge, PCAdvisor etc. one notices that WP8 doesn't really miss anything major, except adoption. For your comparison, Apple released notification center in IOS 5, about 4 years after first iPhone and Google in 2009, 4 years after the introduction of Android, as well. MS is doing it in 3 (it is about to release it). So as far as development cycle goes, MS is ahead here, as well as in other areas. I'm really curious to see what you base your conclusion on.

Thank you but I know what a smartphone, so it is not worth putting a link to the definition.

He has asked me why there is less rom available on windows phone and many more of rom available on android.
I'm not mistaken?

My argument rests on the facts.
Indeed, there is much less of rom windows phone, than of rom android
because it is less than of smartphone windows phone than of smartphone android.
I can also do the reverse: There is much more than rom android than of rom windows phone, as there are more smartphone android than of smartphone windows phone.
My argument is quite logical.
@septivies: I see what you meant now, your choice of words was not the best.
What you meant is:
There are less WP smartphones (than other platforms).
What you wrote can be easily read as:
It is much less a smartphone (than other platforms).
:highfive:

[PORT]AsteroidOS[Mt6572]

Hi guys you can bring AsteroidOs to the mt6572 processor based smartwatch?
AsteroidOS is a free and open-source smartwatch platform based on OpenEmbedded, libhybris and Qt5.
http://asteroidos.org/
https://github.com/AsteroidOS
Also the MTK6260A. This would be great for all the cheap Chinese smartwatches.
Does not make much sense as you don't get much apps for it?

Ever have any luck with this?
Trying to find a way to put a decent OS on one of these....

New os for sailfish device???????

does anyone know how to change my sailfish os to any android os??? im using intex aqua fish..tired of this sailfish
Mate, the only good thing about aquafish is Sailfish OS... There are a lot of China's crapphone around that are way better than the aquafish at smaller price. I think you have definitely made a wrong buy with this phone if you don't like Sailfish OS. For me is WAY better than android but the real problem of this wonderful platform is that there is literally no decent devices around
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 Special Edition "kate"

Agreed.

Has anybody managed to crack a Chinese watch with Android OS and replaced it with Android Go?

I was thinking, with the new range of Chinese smartwatches and some having NFC (granted it's just door unlocking etc) but as some of them these days have heavy OS's like Android 8-10 (massive power hungry) why don't they opt for Android Go instead (which is specifically aimed at low specs?) would it be possible just to wipe the OS from one of these watches and stick Go on there instead (saving a **** ton of battery?) and in relation to my original thought, if it had NFC would it be possible to get Google wallet working as well?
i have the A-TGTGA CK 30 Smartwatch i would really like to do this if possible, the OS on this phone is very limited and the watch faces are not very good, i would to have the option to download new watch faces.

I have the Oppo Watch 3 Pro that runs AOSP instead of Wear OS, which I love so much better. You can download and install phone apps fine, the battery lasts me over 5 days with normal use before I have to charge it. I'm just having issues trying to install Google Services which needs to be there for Google wallet to work in the first place. Still trying though! Otherwise, I'm so happy I bought this watch. It's running the new Snapdragon W5 Gen1 processor and it has never slowed down on me once
