I have a SM-G900AZ rooted stock Rom 4.4.2 on the AT&T network (Cricket). The phone has tethering options removed from the settings screen in the Rom, and adding "dun" to APN settings has not allowed foxfi or PDAnet to work with the response "Mobile Hotspots not supported".
Are there Roms out there that will enable native or app tethering on this network?
Hey did you ever get an answer on this?
I have the same issue and like to keep the stock rooted rom but can't seem to find the missing part.

In which area did the OP of OmegaRom say that the ROM was compatible with the N900W8?
In any case, think about this...
Kernel: Controls system modules like the Wifi ✓
Baseband: Controls the communications between the network and the device. ✖ (try this)
If even flashing the baseband, you don't have your LTE back, then you know what you gotta do.
Wasn't sure which section to post this. Am using my s4 on the tmobile uk network, running the latest Pac rom. However I think my network tmobile uk has blocked my tethering. Now in the old days their used to be an app, for root users to go round this problem, but I can't seem to find this on the market. Any help or suggestions as to how I can go round this restriction would be appreciated.
Hey guys,
Just got my phone rooted on 4.4.2 NB1 using SafeStrap and muniz' stock rooted NB1 rom (Thanks so much again if yours seeing this!)
One major reason why I wanted a rooted phone was for tethering privileges; while i have been able to circumvent at&t's wifi hotspot software, I do not have an option for bluetooth tethering. Is it even possible on our phones, and is there way to enable it?
Thanks in advance,
Constantine
hi guys
I have an s4 i9500 and would like to know (sorry the ignorance) if on this set i can have hotspot for regular wifi connection and not only with network connection.
When i try to create a tether setting the phone automatically shuts the existing wifi connection.
Is there a driver that will allow to create an option for hotspot on wifi. I saw a video that creates something similar on a 9505 odexed. my issue is is there such a file for the 9500, also i believe i saw a file but for a very old rom version. Currently i am running i9500xxufna6 on android 4.4.2
the file i saw was for an older android version and i am not sure it would work on 4.4.2
Can anyone point me in the right direction, i need to tether my tablet to the phone but i want to use my home router rather than my phone company.
Any help will be greatly apprecited
thanks
How To Unlock WIFI Hotspot on Rooted AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-I1337 Android 5.0.1 Lollipop?
I am using at AT&T branded phone with Cricket service, stock ROM as far as I know. I can't find out anywhere how to unlock this Hotspot and I need it badly. None of the apps like wifi tether router seem to work. The build in hotspot worked fine on my galaxy s3 and I don't think I ever did anything specific to make it work, although it was rooted. If I need to downgrade to Kit Kat I will because I can't stand lollipop anyway. I can't even figure out how to make the flashlight work on this thing as there is no icon and none of the flashlight apps work. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Not one response? I guess I'll just try to downgrade to kit kat or something and try from there.

There is a tether add-on for stock rooted versions ending in OK2 in this thread. It's in the OP under optional.
