no sms to mms converstion apk - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey.
can i extract this apk from one of the roms here-like the omega rom that has this feature, and install it in a stock rom 4.4.2?
or i just have to install the rom from scratch.
i thought on rooting this phone, use root uninstall app, remove the stock messages app,and then install the extracted apk with the no conversion feature.
what do you say-will it work?
thanks.

Buddy you just root the phone.
Install wanam xposed and xposed installer
In wanam xposed, there is this feature
No need to fiddle around with different messaging apps

If you have rooted your phone..
Then just download wanam xposed from the play store
When you download wanam.xposed, it will automatically ask you to download xposed installer
When youre done installing both..open xposed installer..go in framework..and press install..
Youre done..now you can use wanam xposed freely

[Q] why apps dont work in custom ROMS

Hello,
First I am having to post here because I can't POST in the actual forum at this time. Can someone tell me why I am unable to install some factory and nonfactory apps in custom ROM builds? If this has to do with ODEX and DEODEX can someone tell me how to see if an app is OD or DEOD? Is it possible in a simple way to DEOD an app? Thanks, as I am hoping to get QuickTranslator working in Malladus.

it's not that easy
- you can't install them because they are odexed
- if the apk contains a classes.dex file it's deodexed and you can install it
- you can deodex them with some tools and the stock rom framework (use google)
- most apps won't work on custom roms because they have special dependencies and stuff...

Malladus has on his list of downloads where you got the Rom from is a file called LG Apps, you would flash this as then get all the LG Apps that have been removed. If you want only LG Quick Translator which by the way is in the file or any other LG App in the zip file, open the zip file in say 7Zip and go to System / App and then delete each program you do not want to install. Place the remaining zip file on your phone and flash from recovery. Easy and done.

I made an error, it's not a zip file.
It's an APK which you install.
You don't need recovery to install it.

There is a PC program called "LBD" you can find it by searching "LBD" on the XDA website.
If you dont have any knowledge don't try using it because you need to extract the firmware or copy apps from phone to PC and then make a flashable script to delete old apps and place the new ones.
I recommend you to use a custom rom.

Search for a deodexed ROM. There are tons for every model, it shouldn't be hard to find.

Xposed Installer

So, when I flash xposed from this link https://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk24/arm64/
It takes a long time to reboot like it's supposed to, but then when I look in my app drawer there is no xposed installer.
Can someone direct me to the correct file to flash on my phone?
Thanks.
