T-Mobile Mytouch 3G Bootloader Issue - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hi.
I have been trying to use the RUU since last night and I cannot get it to work on my device. Of course I know the drill of re-locking the bootloader via fastboot and trying to use the RUU again.
The problem is, the bootloader always refuses to re-lock. I have tried to search around for fixes but I have gone nowhere. I cannot install CWM as well. What's wrong?
All my drivers are installed and working. But I cannot get the bootloader to lock again.
Here is the fastboot details of my phone.

When I try to use fastboot oem lock this is what I get...
(bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY [ 0.005s]
finished. total time: 0.005s
I found a thread similar to this error but it does not give a solution at all.
Please help.
EDIT: I also found something unusual. When I try to boot to recovery mode (adb or button combo) it does not display the options as with other recovery modes on other phones. It's stuck on displaying a phone with an exclamation mark. Nothing else...

Using fastboot i get:
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
Cant access by adb
Doesnt allow remote fastboot commands
Example:
fastboot erase boot
erasing 'boot' ... FAILED (remote: not allow)
Due to secure SPL
This what happen:
1 - Broke secure SPL successfully
2 - Downgraded the radio from 6.xx to 3.xx
3 - Installed Cyanogenmod
4 - Worked fine
5 - Tried to install back to original phone settings with this RUU file:
ROM actualization from Vodafone PT RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.151.3
Install stops at 36% when it tried to update the radio at this point the phone shut itself down.
PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS!!!!!
This is a common problem. Anyone who tries to flash from Cyanogen 5.0.7 back to a stock ROM seems to run into exactly this same problem. Happened to me to, but take a breath, you haven't bricked your phone. Simply re-flash the stock ROM with your goldcard installed and it should work as you would normally expect.

[Q] Can i unbrick my magic 32a?

HTC magic 32a s-on
hboot 1.76.0007
radio 6.35.07.29
its because of the perfected spl right?
From what I can see, with my limited experience, either you left out a part after "s-on", or your phone thinks its neither HTC nor google.
It should say S-ON H
And I dont think that 0007 is perfected.
But I'm a noob and would wait for mumilover to respond...

I want ALL fastboot info.
How did you get this info....
I don't believe that rom-manager has the power to **** up your fastboot.
Recovery and system, maybe - but not fastboot.
When you hold back-button and power-button together what do you see?
Write it down here or take a picture or what ever...
Can you see fastboot?
If you can't see anything beside flash screen then i can't help you!

Similar Issue
Hey Guys and Girls,
This is my first time posting on this site. I have run into a similar issue and have attempted to post on numerous sites without having any luck solving the problem.
The quick version: I ran z4root to root my phone; it said successful. I then installed Rom Manager and switched my recovery to Clockwork (the most recent one). Next I downloaded the latest CM6 from the Rom Manager with GApps. After having unsuccessful attempts at backing up and wiping first, I decided to try installing the Rom without backing up or wiping data. The Rom install worked this time (I got installation successful). However, when the phone rebooted itself, it never got past the Rogers screen. It is now in a constant state of rebooting until I pull the battery.
I can get to fastboot, but cannot get to the recovery screen. My HTC Magic 32A specs from the fastboot menu are:

Some other info that may help:
-my PC recognizes my phone (I have been trying the Radio Switcher v.GUI 4.1 and it says the phone is connected) but it is not allowing me to flash anything.
-When I try "adb devices" it gives error: no device attached but "fastboot devices" gives me a number.
-I have tried putting "recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H" on my sdcard, but the HBoot says no image or wrong image
-The Radio Switcher v.GUI 4.1 says my phone is not rooted
-I tried the goldcard method of rooting, but because I can't get the phone to recognize the sdcard, I can't get a proper CID for the goldcard creator
Hopefully I've provided enough info to get some help. I am waiting patiently, but am starting to get sick of the old Sony Ericsson Anything helps!
Run this 2 commands in fastboot and post here the ourput.

run this command to activate the sdcard:

You have to make a goldcard... if you can't make it using your device, then do it using any other android device.
When you have made the goldcard come back here, and i'll guide through the rest :0)
Done. I made a gold card previously...hopefully it still works. Once it's made into a goldcard, is it always a goldcard?
Actually... re-checking your info - you don't need a goldcard..
No need for sdcard either...
Download this sappimg.zip :
http://rapidshare.com/files/437924840/sappimg.zip
Then run this command from a command prompt:
Code:
fastboot flash zip sappimg.zip
Make sure that the sappimg.img is in the same folder as fastboot.exe
The sappimg.zip is the newest rogers update... the same version as you currently have...
No need for goldcard or anything :0)
if you get any troubles, then post here the outcome of the command prompt..
When all is done, you should be back on stock 2.1...
From there you follow my guide (check my signature) to root and get custom recovery.
Good luck

i have my first goldcard.
this forum is my last hope... if anyone know how to proced, help me pls
I had the same problem as a few of you and after trying everything I eventually decided to try installing SAPPIMG.zip from hboot and it worked fine. Took me a while to find the correct SAPPIMG but you should be able to find it on the forums here. You have to put the SAPPIMG.zip on the root of your SD card from your computer, put it in the phone, boot into fastboot and go into hboot and it'll load the SAPPIMG file. If you have the wrong SAPPIMG it'll usually give you an error when trying to install it'll say someting like update failed or wrong device ID. It took me about 4-5 different SAPPIMG to find the correct one for my phone.

Hmm... try this:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
The above will set the device into RUU mode.
Then download the official rogers RUU..
Run it and it should install just fine... no need for goldcard or sdcard..
I hope this will work.

Hey,
I just wanted to say I appreciate all the time you are putting in to helping me. I just did the RUU install, but once it gets to the updating signature part I get:
ERROR [132]: SIGNATURE ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your android phone.

[Q] Cant boot into recovery.

Hello, have a mytouch 3g 1.2 seems to be semi bricked, cant boot into recovery, or boot into actual rom, pretty much just hboot and fastboot. At the moment it's flashed with:
Sapphire Unknown 32A ENG S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP31000)
CPLD-13
RADIO-3.22.20.17
I've been searching the forums for hours and cant seem to fix this. When I try and revert back to the stock sappimg or any sappimg for that matter it generally gets stuck at the system part where it's unzipping.
When I try and fastboot boot a recovery it just hangs as if i was trying to enter it through a normal method, Im assuming the problem has something to do with the fact that it's S-ON and not S-OFF, but i dont know how to remedy that without being able to get into the OS or Recovery.
Also when i do a fastboot getvar version-main it's 2.53.707.2, not sure if that makes any difference.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
i dont know
What ever you do, don't flash anything before we tell you...
Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734617
Continue from step 4 i believe... or wait until DonJuan692006 comes to the rescue :0)
Thanks for the response.
When I attempt to flash the radio.img, it sends it, says OKAY then as it starts writing it gets to (bootloader) signature checking....FAILED (remote: signature verify fail).
Any other ideas?
You have s-on. You need to switch that to off.
Try to run this command in fastboot mode:
Code:
fastboot oem eraseconfig
It should set you back to s-off and then you can flash the radio.
Thanks man, you are a huge help, was able to get everything up and running perfectly!
Glad it worked out :0)
Guess I'm too late to come to the rescue, lol. Just bought my first house and have been moving and such all week.

32B radio on a 32A, perfect SPL, no boot, only fastboot and stock recovery!

Hi to all! Sorry for my bad english!
I have a big problem with my Magic 32A. It can't boot (it stay on the splash screen when I try to boot), it can only go in fastboot and stock recovery. I have this words in bootloader:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0013 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-2.22.28.25
Oct 21 2009, 22:33:27
FASTBOOT
<VOL DOWN> HBoot Mode
<SEND> Reset Device
<ACTION> Restart to HBoot
<MENU> Power Down
When I try to flash the engineering spl or a custom recovery or only boot into a custom recovery, it give always the same error:
"REMOTE: NOT ALLOW"
I read that someone used a goldcard but i don't now what is it and however I can't do one because I can't use any ADB commands (phone doesn't boot).
I read also that to solve my problem you need to know the version-main and the CID; these are mine:
version-main: 1.88.531.1
CID:TIM__401
So I can't do anything (the fastboot commands don't work because they give me the error remote:not allow) and I'm disperate! I hope someone will help me...Please write in this thread only if you can help me
Fede
Yo... got your pm.
It's always better to search or start a new thread... this way, my help is visible to everybody and all can benefit from it. All help over pm is lost and is a shame if anybody else is in the same problem.
The fix:
Download this file:https://rapidshare.com/files/191906182/2.15.901.4.zip
Download my fastboot commander tool found in my signature (not the magic version)
Using the tool, flash the file using the "Full zip" tab and do so inside fastboot mode.
It can take some time to finish....
Once done you should be back to stock 2.15.901.4 TIM Italy rom.
From there, follow my root guide which is found in my signature...
Good luck
Hi Mumilover!! Thank you a lot for you help but i can't boot yet. Fastboot Commander give me:
###Calling fastboot with: getvar version-baseband###
********************************
###Calling fastboot with: flash zip C:\Users\Fede\Downloads\2.15.901.4.zip###
********************************
Flashing "zip" - PLEASE WAIT.
Status of zip flash can only be seen on the "Actual-Output" tab!.
Did i do something wrong? i did what you said to me.
Please
nothing is wrong... it's gona take around 5 min to finish... All good
I have renamed the zip "sappimg" and i have applied it by hboot mode...it works!! Thank ou a lot Mumilover!! You saved me
No problem...

Help with Mytouch 3G

Hi Guys!
I need help with a MyTouch3G with 3.5mm jack (cell for my little niece), I was reading but don't want to make the same mistakes.
I brick my cell and it don't turn on, just the blue light (holding trackball + Power)
I send it to repair, and now the cell turned on Hboot, Fastboot, But NO Recovery or ROM.
I open the Commander program the info that show is:
SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32A ENG S-OFF H
Code:
STARTING PRINT OF DEVICE INFO.
-----------------------------------.
Radio version: 6.35.10.18.
SPL/hboot version: 1.76.2007.
product: sapphire.
mid: sapp*****.
security: off.
build-mode: eng.
Cannot flash Newfiles (Radio, Hboot)
Code:
Flashing "radio" - PLEASE WAIT.
"radio" flash FAILURE.
Can flash the Recovery but when try to access to it don't work, stuck @ Mytouch 3G First Screen
Code:
C:\Users\User\Desktop\New folder (4)\Tools>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (3954 KB)... OKAY [ 1.572s]
writing 'recovery'... OKAY [ 2.110s]

downloading 'boot.img'... OKAY [ 1.572s]
booting... OKAY [ 0.003s]
finished. total time: 1.576s
I also try:
RUU_Sapphire_T-Mobile_US_2.10.531.4_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
I receive error communication
To be honest don't know what to do next
Any help will be appreciated!
PD: Sorry for my English.
Your current SPL-info mismatches with model.
Never use MT3G v1.2 with hboot 1.76.XXXX / radio 6.35.XX.XX - it will not work.
But, repair-shop half-fixed your brick and you able to restore right configuration.
If you really have MT3G v1.2 (with 3.5" audiojack), download: http://www.multiupload.nl/S7BVSOWB8J
There are:
hboot 1.33.0013d
radio 2.22.28.25
recovery AmonRa 1.7.0 G
1. Unpack
2. Run following code (radio first, then hboot, then recovery). Sure, you can rename files from archive.
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash hboot hboot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
3. Last command will reboot into fastboot-mode again and you will see new SPL-info. Check it, then you can install custom ROM via recovery
I will try it in a minute and report back if work or not...
Thanks!
Ok. I try it
Flash all without problem...
I try boot from recovery (Home + power Button), but don't boot.
Stuck @ Mytouch 3G Screen
I was thinking maybe the home button don't work, so tried
fastboot boot recovery.img
Click to collapse
I receive the message
Downloading....OK
Booting... Failed
Then I tried:
RUU_Sapphire_T-Mobile_US_2.10.531.4_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
Detect the cell, flash all, now the cell turn on and have the ROM, but the touch screen is not working :S. I cant do anything.
So I'm stuck here, don't want to do nothing more, because don't want to brick my phone again..
The info that the cell display now is:
SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32B SHIP S-ON G
Hboot-1.33.0013 (SAPP*****)
Radio-2.22.23.02
Oct 21 2009, 22:33:27
Why now is 32B and not 32A? :S
(I remember that it was 32A before I brick it the first time, when I install a Sappimg.nbh and it was for vodafone and the number change to unknown 32B, Then it was stuck @ RUU and then I brick it.
Now I saw the S is On too, I think is because I use the official RUU.
If is possible fix this to stock I'm Ok, but if is possible root or change the Rom will be great.
Thanks in Advance.
