Nope, if some secret code don't work, that does not mean your phone is a fake one.
- To verify if your phone is a fake one or genuine, install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Refurbishment Check'. Check to see what does it say.
- To make all secret codes working, install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app or Shortcut Master app > Menu > 'Secret Codes' and select the code to launch (root is required).

I got this I9500 international phone and my LCD display has a pink line across it now.
Samsung USA said they are not covering the warranty since it is an international phone. I need to know where the phone is made so maybe I can contact the Samsung international to fix my phone.

IMEI can be found under your battery. Do not think of altering your IMEI as this is illegal.
Please also use the Q&A section for questions next time, as this section is for general discussion.

I am not trying to fake my IMEI, I am just wondering if the IMEI code contains where the S4 is made so I can try to contact there to get my warranty covered..

There are 4 ways to check imei.
1. Checking imei within Android (Dial *#06#)
2. Checking imei within Android and select apps, settings, more, device info, status
3. Removing battery and check the sticker
4. Check the galaxy s4's box
You can check CSC Code of your phone. If you haven't modified it then.
Check the CSC with *#272*IMEI#
And check country list from here.

[Q] Live Demo Unit SM-N9005, Interesting HW question

Hi everyone! Thanks in advance for your wisdom...
So I was given a LDU of the note 3 by my brother who works in a Samsung retailer. Unit works great, was able to root and disable the retail mode and keep it from wiping the phone every night. So far so good.
One thing thats interesting is that GPS is installed and working properly and is able to locate me and ever navigate, which is interesting as I've heard that these units lack both GPS and radio.
The phone is also able to take a chip and when I put it in, of course, the phone doesnt get any signal BUT it does rexognize a chip is in and shows me the little SIM app that I can go to check some carrier stuff (which I cant check as I get an error everytime I click on an option).
IMEI shows as unknown BUT APN configuration is lifted straight from the chip and appears automatically in the phone.
Is this normal or am I missing something here? When I check "about phone" the model shows as N9005 is that normal too? Ive seem to understand that it should show n900x?
All of this makes me wonder if theres some light at the end of the tunnel and this phone could be used as a proper GSM phone. Can you share some of your wisdom?
I've toyed around with the idea of getting a note 3 motherboard and swap it so I can eventually fully use this phone, but before I wanted to check if what I mentioned is normal for a LDU or of theres a way of making sure this phone does actually have radio installed.
Thanks guys.

Ok upon further inspection the device does show sm-n900x on the sticker behind the battery. Still, should it have the GPS working? Any chance it could actually have the radio HW?

It doesnt have imei so aim card will not work. There is a thread here that says you can "recover" imei. Search the EFS threads and if you find the link, try it and let us know if your phones works. Good luck

Check you hardware and modem info in the MISC INFO section in the Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app. Can you show that screenshot?
We have to see if its hardware is the same as other devices.
Hi
I have the same live demo unit. I opened it and found there is no antenna in it. I researched on the same issue a lot and found some users got signal after installing the antenna. Most of them(including me) are facing the problem with null imei.
Key Points during my reserach
1. Missing Antenna.
2. Its a LTE model and also found sm-n9005 on the motherboard when I opened it.
3. N9005 ROMS should work.
4. Found that its trying to read SIM card but it unable to and its detecting for sure.
My doubts :
1. If any hardware is missing it may go into bootloop if any stock ROM is installed so should know if the complete hardware is there or not.
2. How to fix null IMEI ?
I am just the beginner. Just posted this as it may bring new ideas please dont experiment.
I am stuck at fixing null IMEI. Once its done I will try burning stock ROM. Before that please help me in fixing null IMEI. So that I will experiment and let you know the feedback so that you can experiment

How do you have the IMEI if you don't have radio hardware?
Check your modem board info using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app.
Hi Sir,
I checked my modem board and its showing MSM8974. Is it a valid one ?
Also the screenshots which previously posted by theprint are matching with my phone. Wen it is having IMEI I think I can also have the IMEI by some means. Correct me if I am wrong

Sprint hotspot

So i have a note 4. Stock (no root) and i used the msl code to have the ability of use the hotspot option since sorint likes to charge. Everything was fine until my phone was having a powering issue and they had to replace it. I asked them not to upgrade it to marshmellow but of course they did. Now when i got the new phone i went to unlock the hotspot with the msl code and the apn settings were greyed out and blocked wasnt allow to edit it. I was wondering if anyoe knew a work around without rooting to use the hotspot or if there was a way to root without having a pc? Any advice and options would be helpful.
Use odin & flash back to lolli. Y can find the stock file on here somewhere

Can you explain that a bit more? Are you saying there is a way to modify APN settings without rooting? I don't know what an XAS product code is, and doing research there are only just a couple of pages that mention it but doesn't say much about it.

there are different Odin packages for a same device with different product codes. I think the N910PVP one is XAS, key being the first 3 letters after the 910. the first P is actually part of the N910 -- indicating N910P which is the model number for the Sprint note 4
the VP I think is the relevant part for XAS product code... again, I could be wrong, but this is what I believe as of the moment. XAS product code firmwares don't always have the VP for other devices... hence not a good indicator.
if you can find a way to root without tripping knox, you could install GalaxyTools and change the product code with that app without having to flash anything, then unroot and still have knox 0x0 but changing product code involves wiping all user data (might include internalsd)
there might also be a way to change it from the hidden dialer menu's through the service menu but that is well beyond me and I don't think you'll find much if any documentation on it.
if you go in About Phone, you can see in Baseband and Build Number if your version contains the PVP or not
