i factory reset my Phone because it was running slow and i knew I had the back up services running. I reset and the set up went smooth but none of my apps are redownloading. When i went to try and download a app it said "could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server.[[RPC:s-3]). What can i do to fix this?
The quickest way is try to factory reset again and enter the valid account. Sometimes this may help to fix.

Have you tried switching off your phone and then back on again....
It could be a trapped driver and a quick restart may clear it up.

You need to provide a few more answers here...
1. In which country are you using the phone?
2. Is it a carrier or SIM free?
If carrier who is the supplier?
3. Did you make any firmware alterations?
Re the Reset
1. Which method did you chose to perform a Factory Reset?
Did you try Settings>Privacy>Factory Data \reset
I have the original Tmobile mytouch. Recently I thought of rooting it. I used universalandroot and rooted the phone. I then though of removing some stock apps which are not used by me. I used titanium app to remove amazon, IM and IMprovider. I was not aware that removal of the last 2 IM related apps causes issues. The mistake I did was I did not even back up these before uninstalling. After removing these I started getting messages which said com.android.process.gapps stopped unexpectedly. This happened each time I tried accessing gmail or any other google app and also while accessing market. I google the problem an read that this can be resolved by going to settings - applications and clearing data from each google related app and then ensuring sync is disabled and then late reenabling the sync. After I tried this, I was able to access gmail but gtalk and contacts still could not be accessed withthe same error. I therefore thought of doing a factoryreset which might bring the original apps back. I did a factory reset and cache wipe from android stock reboot options but when I rebooted the first message I got upon reboot is "com.android.process.gapps stopped unexpectedly". I tried to sign in into my google account to use the phone but am pretty sure the the factory reset has not resolved my problem. I am currently unable to sign in to the phone using the intial google account set up wizard. Everytime I press finish in the wizard, I get "The application Setup Wizard (process com.android.setupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". Does this mean my phone has been rendered useles???
Can some expert help me resolve this issue? I am a noob and have committed mistakes and need some help fixing them. The phone current has donut android 1.6 on it.
Thanks in advance for your valuable help and time.
Update - Solved
I have resolved the problem. I flashed the phone with sappimg.nbh which took the phone back to the initial state (android 1.5) and this causes the rooting to be undone and also reinstalls the google apps. i dont see the failures due to gapps not found anymore and all is well.
Hey guys,
I'm having problems with my phone right now.
I rebooted my phone to factory setting, and I'm on the stage where I set my phone up.
At the settings page, I keep getting an error that says "Unfortunately, setting has stopped working," and I can't go further.
Any idea on how to fix this?
My phone was rooted before I put it into factory setting.
Do another factory reset.

One of the file must have got corrupted or u myte have deleted after rooting etc if reset does not work flash a stock rom back it will be back to normal
And ya root is gone after flashing stock re root again
.
I started setting up my Mojo, followed the steps to update the firmware, root, etc...
I noticed after the firmware update that I could no longer open the Tegrazone app or the Software Upgrade app (it gives me the "Unfortunately, [app] has stopped." error). Okay, weird, but I thought I would continue with the steps (my reasoning being that there was probably an update or something needed).
After getting everything rooted, updated, and lookin' good, I decided I'd check out the Tegrazone again; I still can't open it. This also happens with the Software Upgrade app - and since it is what I was directed to use to update the firmware, I can't try downgrading or re-flashing. (This also happened with Chrome when I had it installed, and the Play Music app.)
I decided I would do a factory reset - maybe I just installed something that was being weird. After doing a factory reset, signing in to my google account, I immediately tried the trouble apps again; same result.
So another factory reset, this time I didn't sign into google account or connect to wifi at all. Tried the apps; same result again.
So with it in factory default mode, the only change being that the firmware is updated to MO0202-WW, it would seem to be something caused by the firmware update.
I am kind of out of ideas; can I re-update the firmware over usb from my pc? I'm comfortable doing so, but I haven't been able to find any sort of guide or direction on what I should do from here. Should I even bother doing that? Is it possible that the non-working apps were corrupted (and for some reason a factory reset didn't restore their .apks)?
If anyone can give me any ideas or direction I'm willing to try. In the meantime I'm going to reset and root again.

quick question, everytime you factory reset. does it still maintain your root? maybe its not clearing everything. If i were you i would install titanium backup pro, delete tegrazone and reinstall it.

The root isn't maintained; I have to re-root after a factory reset. (How is using titanium backup going to help me? I've never used it.)
I've also thought about just deleting tegrazone and reinstalling it; the TLDR: have to remove it manually and sideload the .apk. Annoying. But I may try that.
In a similar vein; can anyone send me the Software Upgrade .apk?
Hi!
I'm now on a clean at&t oc3.
to explain the situation:
- I had golden eye or something similar for a long time and my phone started to get slow so I decided to do a clean reinstall of the same ROM
- after flashing, my phone was not booting ( stuck on samsung logo) and I the only option was to flash a back to stock at&t rom which was the only working option at that moment.
- now I want to sell my phone and after I'm doing a factory reset to delete my google account, I can not add any other google account because it crashes with the following message: "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped."
- I tried another couple of factory resets...same problem.
Please, give me an advice!
Thank you!
Did you do the factory reset from recovery mode?
