[Q] Unable to toggle NFC - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Followed the instructions found here to return my phone to stock, apply update, root, install Safestrap, and flash Goldfinger. Had some issues with Wifi and Chrome that I was able fix by re-doing the entire process with SELinux Mode Changer. However, I am unable to get NFC working; cannot toggle it on/off, no option to turn on Android Beam. I did have problems with NFC before I rooted the phone in which the toggle was extremely finicky (wouldn't stay on, would constantly freeze up the Settings app). Is there a fix for this? Do I chalk this up as an issue with the battery?

Location History not turning on - Google Now

Hello, I was setting up my Google Now after I got my Nexus 4 rooted with custom TWRP recovery. I tried to turn on Location History but everytime I flip the On/Off switch I go back and it gets disabled again. Location Reporting still works though..Hopefully someone can help here..Thanks!
EDIT: I fixed it after unrooting and returning to stock.

[Q] NFC Icon

Hi when I turn on the NFC function the icon doesn't show up, are there any ways that I can enable the NFC icon through Root Explorer? If so, please tell me the steps.
My phone is N910U New Zealand Version with Sweet Rom V6
Cheers

Do you have installed any XPosed module that can handle the visibility of the NFC icon (i.e. Wanam)? I've had problems in the past with other phones when the NFC icon would be "permanently" disabled/hidden if you tried to hide it once. Sometimes, even after trying to disable this feature towards reverting to the original condition, the NFC icon still won't show. If that's the case, you should uninstall the XPosed module that caused this, re-flash your ROM through Odin without wiping Data/System (on top of your existing ROM, so you won't loose anything) and than eventually you can reinstall the XPosed module making sure you don't touch the "hide NFC icon" feature again. If this doesn't work (that's the easy way), the only other option left is a factory reset and than using TiBu to restore your phone.
You can get your (phone specific) unaltered stock firmware from SamMobile, Samsung Updates or other similar websites.

[Q] Any way to disable Lollipop prompt?

I have an icon stuck in my task bar prompting me to install the Lollipop update as well as regularly showing me full screen prompts when I unlock the screen that I have to keep cancelling. I don't want to upgrade to Lollipop at the moment as the phone is working fine as is and there's a couple of apps I use regularly that don't work with Lollipop so I'm trying to find how to cancel this prompt as it's getting irritating.
I found some advice that suggested disabling notifications on the Google Play Services would work but it hasn't, I've also tried disabling notifications on the app that is generating the alerts but all options for it are greyed out. The phone is a stock N910F that isn't rooted.
Thanks,
John
The only solution I know of is:
1) update
2) downgrade
3) disable the automatic update feature
Thanks for the reply, I woke up yesterday morning to find the phone had upgraded itself to Lollipop (I'm not sure if there's a timeout on the prompts or I did it in my sleep) so will just have to make do now.

Since you have to do a factory reset when downgrading, be sure to backup your data.

Anomalies driving me nuts.

1. When Wifi is on, phone notifies me of every passing wifi possibility. I live in a populated area so these notifications are driving me nuts. Turning off the feature does no good. Other folks I know have the feature turned on without being bothered by the constant notifications.
2. Helium backup won't install. It keeps demanding ptp, but even if I switch it manually Helium will not install. I need a complete backup program for this phone.
Under wifi advanced settings, turn off network notifications. Can't help with the second issue.
Thanks for your suggestion. Have tried to turn off notifications, no joy.
Are you sure it's the phone notifying you of the WiFi availability?
Maybe you have a 3rd party WiFi scanner (or similar) app that is doing it.
If it really is the system, then you may need to re-flash the ROM.
Or maybe try Xposed module NotifyClean. I use this module to get rid of all the messages and status bar icons I don't like.
My phone isn't rooted.. My son has one of these phones and his doesn't do this. He is threatening to buy an iPhone. Yuk!
Titanium Backup Pro is best for app backups. Of course, you will need to be rooted with busybox installed. Also, after unlocking the bootloader and flashing TWRP Recovery to flash SuperSU zip for root, you can just make a Nandroid backup in TWRP.

Wifi switching on and off continously

Hi
Since yesterday my WiFi has been turning on and off like crazy! I have no idea why, I haven't changed any settings nor updated any apps. I googled and checked all the settings, but everything is normal. No power saving, searching for optimal connection etc. is activated. I'm up2date on all apps. Tried to reboot, didn't help. I have no anti virus or any other performance optimizing app. I'm running tasker, but it only has one task where it enables screen rotation in some apps. Tried disabling that as well, didn't help.
I'm running Android 8.0.0 (V20g-EUR-XX) on the H870. I rooted my phone before, but I reverted back to stock Android with stock recovery. Only the bootloader is still unlocked, else it's a stock phone.
The newest app is YouTube Vance, but I don't think it has anything to do with it since I've had tht app for a while now and it was fine since yesterday.
Any ideas?
Edit: I just factory resettet the phone using the stock recovery and the issue is worse, now I can't even enable WiFI :/ I'll have to contact LG I suppose
