In an attempt to make this guide short and comprehensive and also to prevent the completely uninitiated from doing something stupid, I'm going to skip babysteps like <power on your coputer> or <browse to x folder and doubleclick on y>
I start this assuming anyone following it has a basic understanding of what they're doing, what ADB is and also of the risks that come with messing with their device.
Introduction:
This guide will show you how to alter the default baseband frequencies of your qualcomm-based device, augmenting them so that (theoretically) it should work more like a global phone.
Those with an international version of the OPO can still follow this guide, if only to check your unlocked bands against those of your fellow chinese OPO owners. I'm of the opinion that even the international version lacks a few GSM/WCDMA bands, so no harm in trying to unlock some aditional ones.
This guide will, however, NOT UNLOCK ADITIONAL LTE BANDS. At least not for now. It will be updated if and when someone discovers a way to tamper with the LTE bands.
The Guide:
1. Download this archive containing all the necessary files and extract it wherever you please.
2. Enable Android Debugging on your phone and connect it to your computer, making sure MTP and PTP are not enabled in Storage > USB computer connection
3. Open up ADB and type the following:
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
Code:
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
4. Launch Device Manager and look for the Other Devices expandable menu.
5. Right click on the first device listed under that menu (the first of the two A0001 devices listed there) and choose Update Driver Software, Browse my computer for driver software, Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, Show All Drivers, Have Disk and Browse
6. Browse to where you extracted OPO SPECIFIC QUALCOMM BAND UNLOCKER and locate the OPO Diagnostics Driver folder; Inside you will find 32bit and 64bit versions, pick the one relevant to you and inside you will find an .inf file that you will Open. Accept any warning messages that might pop up and let the installation of the driver complete.
7. Once everything is done installing, under Modems in Device Manager you will find HTC USB Modem. Rightclick and select Properties; In the Modem tab in the top left corner you will see Port: COM<number>. Remember that COM<number> or write it down or simply leave the window open for future reference.
8. Open the OPO SPECIFIC QUALCOMM BAND UNLOCKER folder, locate and install QPST 2.7.411 inside QPST > QPST v2.7 Build 4.11
9. Open QPST Configuration, go to the Ports tab, Add New Port (right bottom corner); In the Port field type in the COM<number> you wrote down/remembered from step 7 and in Port Label type OPO and finally click OK (left bottom corner). If you've followed all the steps correctly until here, you should be able to see this in the Active Phones tab:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
10. Locate and launch RF_NV_Manager.exe in the bin folder of the QPST installation directory (normally C:\Program Files (x86)\Qualcomm\QPST\bin)
11. Once you have RF_NV_Manager.exe open, click on Setting > Comport and select COM<number> from the dropdown menu and click OK; Go to File (top right corner) and select Read from Phone and let it finish.
12. Scroll down and click on line 1877 (NV_RF_BC_CONFIG_I); Copy the number displayed on the right-hand side field (the one next to < unsigned 8 bytes > Band Class(s) Supported >)
13. Locate and open mzTool_1.2.1a.exe inside OPO SPECIFIC QUALCOMM BAND UNLOCKER; select Decimal under Input Radix (top left side); Paste the number you copied in step 12 into the Decimal field under RF BC Config. You should now see your currently available bands in the Bit Information field underneath. It should look similar to this:
14. Go to Band Performance (NV Value) tab and check all the GSM and WCDMA bands; Copy the number in the Decimal field under RF BC Config (2,307,813,334,319,039,360); Copy it into a text editor and remove the ","
15. Go back to RF NV Manager and paste the clean number (2307813334319039360) into the number field next to < unsigned 8 bytes > Band Class(s) > --- if you paste the number with commas or brackets instead of just the number, you're an idiot.
16. Press WRITE NV then go to File and select Write Changed NV Items To Phone; Wait 23 seconds (because I like arbitrary waiting times), disable Android Debugging on your phone, unplug it and reboot your device; Once it comes back on, it might take a few seconds for it to acquire signal so don't panic.

Conclusion:
The only real way to know if the whole thing got applied is to do steps 1 through 13 again (obviously skipping installations) or if you are in an area where you previously had bad or no reception.
I've tested this on my 64GB Chinese OPO running stock rooted CM11S. Everything seems to work properly radio-wise, no worse than before. I'll have to travel a bit around to see if i get better or worse reception.
I'll edit this thread with any relevant information if any becomes available in the future or if anyone feels something is missing.
Thanks:
Thanks to @BlackSoulxxx for his original work with the Qualcomm baseband software and for the modified OPO Drivers
Thanks to @olokos for his original tutorial
Thanks to @Glatzi for bringing the original thread to my attention
Thanks to @fards for finding the diagnostics command that made all this possible
Thanks to @Albirew for writing an extensive LTE tutorial
Thank you for your help I was stucked because MTP in debugging mode was checked, and also I because I did not get the right command (setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb instead of setprop persist.usb.eng 1 in the terminal.
Cheers
PS : Love your comment "if you paste the number with commas or brackets instead of just the number, you're an idiot." ^^
Great!!! well done @devilsshadow Thanks a lot..:angel::good::good:
And @-Nx- Thanks once again for linking me to this awesome thread!!!!
As Galaxy S5 can use the European LTE 800mhz band, could we check the bits from S5 and try to use them in our OPO to enable 800mhz LTE band?
So for now you don't know how to unlock some LTE bands for the OPO?

The S5 is an Exynos powered device, cant really do much for our Qualcomm based handsets. Besides, as far as I know, no OPO version has the 800MHz band availabe. Check out the band chart below with the available OPO bands:

Not as of right now, no. I'd need confirmation from someone with a chinese OPO in the US to test if flashing the latest CM11 does anything to unlock the additional LTE bands that the Chinese OPO lacks. Otherwise, like I said in the OP, this tutorial is only for unlocking aditional GSM/WCDMA bands.
I'm sure someone smarter than me will find a way to get to the LTE bands as well. Just give it time.
OK thx! I really appreciate your work! Btw the EU GS5 has the Snapdragon 801

Got manically busy week ahead, so not sure I can get to my pc to look at the lte.
If you can do some screen shots of the codes in nv manager (like the 1187) there might be something that shows up.

I'm not 100% sure but I think think so. Flashing a new rom also flashes whatever radios come with the rom so that might overwrite everything. Need someone to test this.

As this is still a work in progress, any further studies into the matter (from different devices owners as well) will only help us further our goal of unlocking full LTE.

Could you list what base band available after the hack? That will be very helpful if you could post a screen capture for the step 13 after the modification.
I am particular interested on 1700MHz (AWS or WCDMA-4) at 3G. Thanks a lot

European version has the Snapdragon 801. In Korea they announced a LTE-A version which has the 805 processor. They also said that they will not sell the LTE-A version outside if the Korea.
Since we have the same SoC as the Galaxy S5 European version and S5 can do the 800mhz LTE, technically OPO should be able to use that band alao.
Because radio chip is inside of the Snapdragon 801 SoC, I don't believe that there is any hardware limitations.
About FDD-LTE and WCDMA restriction in China.
It may not be related to Baseband.
What I found is that Color OS could modify modemst1 or modemst2 partition to unlock the restriction in China. It has nothing to do with NON-HLOS.bin.
But here's another possibility that we could modify NON-HLOS.bin directly to get FDD-LTE and WCDMA in China supported. But it is not what color os crack does.
Guys, QC has different modem for different kinds of chip. Yes the radio chip is inside SoC, but it need MDM9xxx modem chip

Just exclude the baseband when flashing with flashtool and you'll have your bands. OTA update is a different story.
i can not uncheck MTP and PTP when device connected usb debugging is on , Samsung s5 ? can you tell how to uncheck it !?

T-Mobile only has LTE in specific areas. Even though it is selected in the network mode, if your area is not LTE ready then it will revert to the best possible speed for your area. I am with Telus and have LTE enabled on my device but it shows 4G in my home as I'm in a fringe area. When I leave my home and travel about 100 meters, I have LTE and it will display the icon.
It was my understanding that T-Mobile disabled the LTE band on their device. If you rooted, it's possible you enabled the LTE band partially in that it's shown but even though selected, the regional settings have not been updated to reflect the ROM you installed for LTE capability.
Have you rooted your device?

OK, if your device is rooted, have you installed the T-Mobile ROM onto the device? Have you confirmed this ROM installs an LTE capable modem? If so, follow step 6 at the bottom of my thread to ensure you've enabled the regional carrier settings thus essentially turning on the LTE modem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489766.
If you do not have a ROM installed with an LTE capable modem, flash a compatible ROM and follow step 6 and you should have LTE capability.
Hope this helps!

Like mentioned, T-Mobile just recently rolled out LTE in specific areas. The problem here is not the network but the phones capability of communicating with the network. My device is from WIND Mobile (Canada). This company only supports 4G data. The phone is LTE capable but the modem has been crippled. I rooted my phone and installed the Telus ROM (which inadvertently installs the LTE modem). Once installed, LTE is no longer crippled and once I entered the correct APN settings for LTE, I had access under my network options to select: LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect). Problem was when doing this, I would still only get 3G. The phone was displaying the capability but it had to be enabled by modifying the regional settings and selecting the provider ROM. At this point, everything was functional and LTE capable.
Hope this helps!

Like I've suggested to others, please follow the documentation from start to finish in the following link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2489766. With regards to ROOTING in the first set of instructions, replace the downloadable file with that which corresponds to your model. With the second set of instructions, when downloading TWRP, from the linked site, go back one directory and download the hltetmo version of TWRP. When you get to the third stage of instructions, download the file which represents T-Mobile's version of the ROM.
This should work for you but if not, let me know and I can assist where possible. Another individual had a similar issue who was PM'ing me and with a bit of time and troubleshooting, they're now up and running.
Hope this helps!

Just as an FYI, both your threads relate to the same question regarding a ROM for increased device productivity. You also posted similar information in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2491711
Please try to limit posts regarding the same issue and post all concerns within a single thread. Please follow the instructions as outlined in my link. This should hopefully fix all your issues and if you have trouble along the way, please post in this thread and I'll respond and help where I can. Thanks!

Well, in my 3rd step, I've listed ROMS for the SM-N900W8 model and you required ROMS for the International 9005 model. I would first load into TWRP by powering off your device and then once powered off, power on again using: Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button (all at once). When you see the Note 3 logo, let go and you will be in TWRP. Ensure you do a full wipe/format through TWRP and now you will be ready to install another fresh ROM rather than overwriting an existing ROM which can cause problems within itself. Once at this state, download an appropriate ROM from this link:
http://www.samsungis.com/Firmwares/SM-N9005-Galaxy-Note3-Snapdragon.html
The ROM I would go with is:
Galaxy Note 3 (Snapdragon) SM-N9005 TPLPoland (t-mobile) N9005XXUBMI7 4.3 11.09.2013 1628120 Download
This one I think has LTE but if not, you're safe with downloading any one of these variants. If the above does not enable LTE, you must research the carrier to ensure they have LTE. Please ensure you follow the last steps of the instructions to enter into the regional carrier settings and select the 3 digit code for the carrier ROM you installed.
Hope this helps!

FYI....
Here is a list of carriers world-wide who support LTE and the frequency they support:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
If the ROM I suggested does not support LTE, this is what I would recommend:
Look at the different carriers provided in the original link I gave you for 9005 ROMS. Match one of these to this link showing supported LTE carriers. Make sure the frequency of this LTE carrier is supported by your phone then download the ROM. Once the ROM is installed, go to your regional carrier settings as I've listed in my rooting instructions and change the 3 letter code to match the ROM you just installed. Once the device resets and reboots, you should have the capabilities your device originally crippled.
Hope this helps!

This is what I have gathered from you Baseband...
The model of device you have is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (International - Snapdragon). It was manufactured October 2013 and was the second batch or build released for public purchase. The Countries/regions your phone recognizes are as follows:
Austria
Belgium
France
Germany
Hungary
Italy
Nordic
Spain
United Kingdom
This means that you must install an International ROM supported by one of these Countries for the device to successfully load it and boot up. You currently have the device unlocked and are using T-Mobile. This does not mean you must have the T-Mobile ROM loaded on the device to enable features which have been crippled. All you must do is research 3 letter CSC code for the ROM you download and ensure that carrier supports the features which are currently being crippled at the moment with T-Mobile. Once the ROM has been downloaded and installed through ODIN, as previously stated, enter the CSC menu on your device and select the 3 letter code which represents the ROM you just downloaded. The link to obtain a ROM (as previously provided) is:
http://www.samsungis.com/Firmwares/SM-N9005-Galaxy-Note3-Snapdragon.html
Please make sure the ROM you download supports all the features you wish to enable and that it also supports one of the locations listed above. At this point, a ROM should successfully load and you should be operational.
Hope this helps!
Hello,
I received my Oneplus 2 today and it does not support the LTE Band 3. It`s the north USA Version and i would like to ask if anyone figured out a method to unlock the LTE Band 3 (1800mhz) . It`s because the Hardware of the Oneplus USA Version is the same like the European version.

That would be amazing if some one could figure that out. But as I did my research it seems that it's not possible that there's a hardware difference.

Do the changes to the band stay after rebooting or upgrading the OS to a newer version? I wanted to unlock band 3 as well on my OP2.
I haven't tried writing the modem configuration yet to see if it sticks or not but was able connect the phone and read the configuration from it by following the instructions from the 2 posts I mentioned.
Say if you got Chinese oneplus 2 and changed software on it would it work on bands 20 I've seen this question asked before but can't find the post

I suggest you to keep 3G instead of LTE because battery draining is so faster under LTE Mode. If you stay a place that have a poor LTE signal, that would be your battery killer.

Ok, guys, I`ve unlock NVram to write. Now I can save any values to change enabled bands.
Intruction:
Requirements:
OnePlus 2 with TWRP and rooted.
QXDM Pro, drivers, etc, as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unlock-aditional-bands-qualcomm-t2877031
Stock ROM OnePlus2Oxygen_14_OTA_011_all_1512111634.zip.
Attached file.
Just unzip attachment and replace file in ROM OnePlus2Oxygen_14_OTA_011_all_1512111634.zip, in RADIO folder. Flash via twrp.
After boot you will see warning "NV backup corrupted" or something like this, dont worry.
Use QXDM to change band as you want, reboot and check. Voilya. But LTE will not work, because it is hardware issue, lol.
A few words about attached file. I just unzip this file from stock ROM, search AC 1Ah (6828 little endian) and DB 08 (56072, US LTE band) together and replace DB 08 with DF 10. Dont ask, what I did, I dont know, lol. But it is work.

There is easier way to do that without corrupting the backup.
Simply change the value is QXDM.
Then in the phone dial *#268#
Press the NV parameters
Press the Static NV Force Backup.
This will copy the new values to the backup, and they will stick later on.
BTW, to be on the safe side, make sure to backup your dycnvbk, stanvbk and EFS.
Not working for me. Cause com.android.phone crash after dial. May be because my backup is corrupted. Later will try with stock backup. But thank you anyway.
I am using the stock image with the stock phone app.
I am using Mokee, chinese AOSP firmware. BTW, I just erased nv backup partition and keep playing with nv ram. Hope will not brick my phone ))
What version do you have? US/EU/CH?
In case you have EU, cab you PM me with qcn of your device?
Unfortunatelly I have US version.
I know a way to add bands in snapdragon 801 (i did in xiaomi mi note) never tried in OPT since it has all bands i need . but it should be the same. Search google for adding bands in mi note
Unfortunately, Cricket has apparently decided that our phone isn't worth an update. However, with a little knowledge, you can get it up and working in no time.
Thanks to @nightbreed813 for the original debloated MM ROM. Thanks also to @noaone for his tips. Without them, I'd still be on Lollipop.

Prerequisites:
You MUST have a custom recovery (preferably TWRP) installed. No ifs, ands or buts. If you don't currently meet this requirement, see this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/help/complete-detailed-step-step-root-t3217505
Easy method:
Download the modified zip from this post
Copy it to your device's internal storage
BACKUP YOUR CURRENT DATA. This should work, but you don't want to be caught off-guard. DO IT!
Remove the SIM card. Keep it removed until you have completed the setup process. Replacing it before then will screw Android up, and you'll have to reflash.
Wipe System, Data, DALVIK & Cache
Flash the file you downloaded from this post.
Reboot your phone and wait for it to start the setup process.
Bypassed hands-free activation. Tap 'Done' in Self Service and accept that there wasn't a network to register to.
You can reinsert your SD Card at this point. Cricket will now set the network up for you.
.
You should be done now. Enjoy Marshmallow.
Manual method (Long):
Download a zip from nightbreed813's post.
Open the zip (preferably with Windows File Explorer), and, without extracting, navigate to \META-INF\com\google\android\
Open updater-script with a text editor, preferably Notepad++
Change the first 2 lines to
HTML:
#ASSERT
unmount("/system");
, replacing what's there.
Save, and let Windows recompile the zip
This zip should now flash on your phone. Follow the Easy Method instructions (excluding step 1) to install.

Hi, thank you for providing the instuctions. I flashed the rom to my 626. Unfortunately I'm not able to connect to LTE on GSM band. I guess this is because it is a Sprint Rom that's designed for CDMA network technology ?

I see no reason why it shouldn't; Cricket is on AT&T's network. Still, make a TWRP backup just in case it doesn't work out, for whatever reason.

No, as long as you have a 626s on Cricket, it should work. (Besides, I think Cricket is running on CDMA anyhow, though I might be mistaken.)

It's actually a 625 from Cricket that I'm using but it's considered to be the same as the 626. Cricket is using ATT's GSM network. I really hope I can enable LTE connectivity.

Well, that's probably what your problem is. After following the instruction outlined in the post (on my HTC Desire 626s), I've not encountered this. If everything else is the same beyond that, it's the only option.
PLEASE check that you've followed the instructions perfectly, especially steps 4 &8.
If you're 100% sure that you have, it may just be that the 625 on Cricket is somehow incompatible here.
At any rate, I can only help with what I have, and I have a 626s. If the exact same methods that work with my 626s aren't working on your 625, I can't do too much. Sorry...
If I can help anyway otherwise, let me know.

I used a Cricket 625 with the 626 ROM. Worked fine with the AT&T (StraightTalk) SIM.
A word of caution: this phone has very little room for much of anything. The stock ROM completely fills up the phone after all of the updates download (under Lollipop). This ROM gives you a bit of extra room, but not much.
I'm very happy with my no-ad Moto G5+ from Amazon. At $219, it's an incredible value. The bootloader is unlockable, and it's fairly "current" with nougat on the phone. Oreo is already in the pipe, and you can always switch to more custom ROMs after the Oreo updates quit coming.
With all of security issues plaguing phone users, old phones that can't keep reasonably current need to gracefully fade away.
como consigo desabilitar simlock que ahora me dice que esta habilitada y no tengo red ni datos ahora tengo el 626s

Exactly the reason why I would like to run Android 6 on this phone so I can use adoptive storage
I also have trouble opening the APN settings after flashing this rom. Most of the times the phone shows me this "Select your carrier" screen. When I select my carrier (Telfort), internet works but after a reboot I have to choose my APN again. Anyone knows how to get rid of these preset apn settings ? (I tried these instructions for editing the build.prop to get full access to the APN settings. All suggestions are welcome, thank in advance !
I think I used a ROM called "AdvancedStock626_V5.zip". It's a bare-bones ROM, and I was able to manually set the APN.
You have unlocked your phone, right?

Whoops! I was wrong on which I flashed. My apologies....
I couldn't get the Advanced stock to "recover" with TWRP. Instead, I installed the debloated Sprint_Stock_MMDB from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/de...-flashable-stock-htc-626s-debloated-t3293602/
I had LTE, or at least I thought I did. Everything seemed to work with my StraightTalk (AT&T) SIM.
Maybe this Sprint Rom doesn't support European LTE frequencie, I bought this 625 phone from Cricket last year when I was in the States. I see that I'm 3.5G now which is fine by me. One thing that concerns me is that the data roaming icon is greyed out. I'm flying to another EU country next week, does this mean I don't have internet abroad? I modified ro.com.android.dataroaming=false in build.prop into true, still can't select data roaming. Anyone know how to fix this ? Appreciate all the help!
Does anyone know if the TWRP (international) version works on this (Canada) version of the G6? What I would like to do is install TWRP and Lineage OS, however, neither TWRP or Lineage have a LG-H873 version of their downloads.
As far as Lineage OS is concerned, the G6 versions they have are for the EU and the US. TWRP only has an International version listed, whatever that is? International as far as the US is concerned, or South Korea?
The technical specifications for LG-H873 are identical to the LG-US997, however, does anyone have any further knowledge about any differences between the two models?
Hope someone can help. Thanks to those who try.
Your version of the G6 (Canadian) cannot officially have it's bootloader unlocked and subsequently (unfortunately) there are no options at all for you.. as far as installing TWRP, root or custom ROMS goes..
Clarify the LG-H873 Status and possible future please

I know there was no exploit for the lg-h873 bootloader unlock as of yet, but based on the above, is this saying that our handset is unlikely to ever be unlocked due to some technical reason? I am quite nervous when I see most posts about this are from last spring, and here we are 2018, with no sign of any work or progress or anything. Just the seemingly resigned line that it's not possible. Can someone clarify this? I just got this phone right before christmas, and I am freaking livid at finding this out. Anyone have any advice if this is a likely permanent problem on how to approach getting the handset switched or exchanged with the carrier or other due to this "gotcha" bullSh it?

Obviously, not meaning calling them up and saying "HEY, you blocked my hacking/rooting". In case that wasn't clear. I'm not above misrepresenting myself on THIS issue if the outcome is positive. Just returning the favor. By the way, the carrier is Telus if that matters
The bootloader is locked and that is final. Unless someone finds a massive exploit, there will be no root or ROM's for phones that have locked bootloader. I have the H873 on Koodo and it sucks but LG's stock rom is good enough.
I also have the Canadian variant and tbh I feel that (for me at least) rooting is not necessary.
Don't get me wrong, every other android phones that I owned were rooted and I loved it!
But with the G6, the stock ROM is not bad at all! The two main things I was "afraid" of at first were bloatware and ads (missing adaway) but you can debloat with the ADB method and I'm using blokada for blocking ads and I must say I'm very happy with this phone!
Other thing is, root means no android pay and that's something I'm planning to try very soon!
So no root is not as bad as I thought at first!

Thanks for this, I had no idea that this was the case. I'm going to guess that the locked bootloader must be the difference between the Canadian and US versions.

I'm using Android pay, no problems and it works very well. It's a shame that only a few Canadian banks are accepting it. However, you can put your Canadian Tire money card on it, along with Air Miles, Aeroplan and Scene rewards cards.

At the risk of sounding stupid or slow.....| The above is clear, but I was seeking clarification as to the status. As in, is the bootloader being locked something that is permanent? or reversible? Something that could be unlocked by LG if they so desired (like if they decided "hey, we should open the bootloader like we do for other countries) as some point). Not saying they ever would do so. But I was curious if this was the kind of thing where technical reasons or architecture made it impossible with the existing model. Or if LG could technically roll out a software patch that allowed it to unlock. Forgive me for sounding stupid here. I have been rooting every samsung phone and tablet I've come across going back to the s2 (roughly 7 devices). Each one of those, whatever the case or obstruction, eventually that root was available. So here is my very first LG device, and I'm so used to it being a given that access was possible...eventually, that I can't figure out why this fairly popular handset is basically a write off. Yes, no need to repeat, because the bootloader is locked. But of all the devices with root access possible, have none of them had locked bootloaders? Is there something structurally harder to get around with LG vs others? Please indulge me a little more detail as to why this is so unlikely. Thanks in advance

Yes, if LG wanted to, they could set up a system for you to unlock your bootloader, no update required, it's all done via their website.
You pop in your IMEI, and it's supposed to spit out your bootloader unlock code. This has only been done in a few countries.
There is going to be little development on this device though because it is NOT popular at all. Too expensive at launch, and price only came down when the S8 came out. Since it only has the 821, the type of enthusiast that would work on that type of unlock didn't even bother.
Even LG seems to have abandoned it already.

Now that my Fido lg g6 has been updated to Oreo there is oem unlock in dev options . What does that mean for me ? Does that mean that there is a chance for TWRP ? Could this lead to custom ROM ? If I swipe to OEM unlock now what would happen to my phone ?
If you can explain these to me I would very much appreciate it .?

Can you please explain or direct me to info on how to debloat using adb in LG G6? I have a LG G6 from Fido.
Yes . That would be nice to know , how to debloat using ADB
Also , how would I go about making UI as close as possible to stock Android ?
Found this on another xda thread (credit to AM Radio)
1. get latest LG Universal Mobile Drivers (currently v4.2.0)
http://www.lg.com/us/support/software-firmware-drivers
- click on "LG Mobile Drivers" and click on "Windows"
- right-click, run/install as Admin
2. grab latest ADB binary, link provided on XDA
https://www.xda-developers.com/googl...ary-downloads/
- extract the "platform-tools" folder
3. install Package Name Viewer 2.0 from the Playstore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...om.csdroid.pkg
- probably lots of apps that do the same thing, but i grabbed this one first. allows you to inspect all User and System apps on your phone, and select the ones you want into a list, and then copy that list to Keep or a text file or whatever
4. turn on USB debugging on your G6
- go to Settings > About Phone > tap Build Number until you're a developer
- go up a menu level, click on Developer Options (which should now be just above Above Phone)
- find "USB debugging' and turn it on
5. get hooked up:
- connect your G6 to your PC via USB
- on G6, change the mode to "File transfer"
- back on Windows, open the "platform-tools" folder, shift+right-click somewhere in the folder, select "Open command window here"
- type command (without quotes): "adb devices"
- in the command window, you will see confirmation that the daemon is started, and the name of your device
- if you get a dialogue box on the G6 re: USB debugging, just click "ok"
- type command (without quotes): "adb shell"
- in the command window, you will now see the "lucye:/ $" prompt
6. time to get cooking
- at the prompt, type (without quotes):
"pm uninstall -k --user 0 [PackageNameOfTheAppYouWannaRemove]"
- example:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.lge.bnr
- hit Enter, and kaboom: LG Mobile Switch is gone.
- repeat as necessary, referencing that handy list you prepared in Step 3

H873 unlock bootloader need help
Hi guys,I bought a LS993 carrier unlocked with flashed firmware of H873 and I read on the internet that the bootloader cant be unlocked.I tried to go in ADB before but I didnt get a positive result but with the latest update I tried again and this time it was successful.Maybe someone of you people will tell me what to do to unlock the bootloader because I have access to ADB reboot bootloader command and so on.I really want a custom rom for our device and can help with everything I can.If someone can help maybe our device will be unlocked and possible to root.Reply in this thread or by PM.
Mostly Sony XZ-series phones have limited LTE Carrier Aggregation bands on per country / provider. You can check here more information about that: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/lte-carrier-aggregation-combinations-t3577544
I made step by step instruction how to modify on Sony XZ, Sony XZs, Sony XZ Premium and Sony XZ1 LTE Carrier Combinations. Rooted phone required. This instruction should working also with Dual SIM models.
Sony XZ Premium after Android 9 PIE does not work anymore
You can check this on my blog site: https://mt-tech.fi/en/modify-sony-xz-xzs-xz-premium-and-xz1-lte-a-band-combos/
Make sure you make full modem backup and backup all config files to your computer, if need restore configuration.
To try this mod, it should be supported by the carrier also! Is there a way to find out in which countries it's rolling?

Did you mean LTE Carrier Aggregation support? You just should check what band your provider support and then find possible combos on our Google sheets (link on first post).
Many providers also support well 256QAM/64QAM but not every provider yet. There is no list yet.
That's my point... There is no "list". You just try it and see if it's working. But I'm not brave enough to try it -and IF it goes smoothly- see no result because my provider being ambitious in saving money than QoS :/

That should ask from local provider customer service.
When know local LTE bands then know possible CA-combinations.

@olkitu QPST on xz1/xz premium with Android Pie works using the magisk module that you can find here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78919730&postcount=119. No need to install custom driver, you can use the driver from windows update. I'm saying it to you also because your tutorial is among the first results on Google
Edit: It seems to not work on XZ premium. I was wrong

Thanks for sharing this! I have to put test this Magisk module and then update my blog posts.
This driver is Qualcomm official driver for Xiaomi but yes if you can find it from Windows Update that is good.

On oreo using the driver for xiaomi I had to manually insert the "COM" port, now with the drivers downloaded by windows the phone is autodetected*.
The device used by QPST is "USB\VID_05C6&PID_9091&REV_0404&MI_00". Sometimes with the module enabled the phone says "no service", to solve the problem just enable and disable the "Airplane mode", note that this does not interfere in any way with QPST/QXDM. Obviously you should disable the module after finishing the work.
And thak you very much for your work I still have some doubts about the lte_category file. Analyzing the firmware of many smartphones I understand how the files disable_cap_ies (disable 64qam/256qam capabilities), rrc_capable_plmn_list (limit the plmn that have capabilities not disabled) and the carrierpolicy works, but I found anything about lte_category :/
*In my case qpst is running in windows 7 compatibility mode

I can't get it to work on XZP Pie. Phone shows up in QPST, but as Unknown (No ESN). Same thing without the mod, but by running setprop commands from the shell. Used to work fine on Oreo.

Are you using a typec cable? Are you using the com port of the device "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9091" ? Can you tell me if QPST see the device for few seconds during the boot?

Better buy device from France to support bands and carrier aggregation combinations used in France.
Thank you very much for your response, Olkitu. I am trying to enter qualcomm diagnostic mode, and I cannot. I have done everything you describe in your blog and nothing shows up in QPST. I even tried with the command (setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb), and I can't enter the diagnostic mode either. Do you know how to fix it? Thanks you
olkitu , little bit off topic but at what extent can be done with Qualcomm software to unlock the full potentioal of any phone? Im not talking about LTE and 5G, I mean Bluetooth, GNSS, Wifi, NFC, codecs. Because of the lack of tutorials on how to edit NV items EFS mods its a dangerous game.

Hi xavinaz.. I'm in the same situation as you. Have a docomo xz1 compact and need 20 band.
Have you found any solution ?
Right now I have Havoc 4.13 but I coudn't access the modem. But rolling back the phone to android 8 with the stock rom and using the temp root exploit you can access the modem as described in the tutorial.
But then I'm not be able to unlock the 20 band. So I go back to android 9 and now on havoc
Hello Bob, I have not been able to enable the band 20LTE. I have reviewed many blog and websites, and it is impossible.... I have not found the solution.
