[Q] Waiting the Xperia Z1 Rom for Find 5 ~

Although this is not easy to do,but 70% Xperia Z1's apps can run in Find 5.
The framework,the lockscreen,the launcher,walkman,album,movies and so on.
Camera can't ,but it is ok.Use oppo's camera.
The problem is there're no person like to do this.
If I can,I did.
So,waiting for you. The masters.

Did someone noticed 14.2.A.1.142?

In PTCRB is since yesterday a new FW certified. Again...
http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=24328
Question is: would it be released?
I don't think so. It's only certified. NOT YET RELEASED...

I guess no. This might be a test build for the path towards stable Kitkat.
Certified doesnt always mean that it would be rolled.
I guess sony will go straight to 4.4KK...
It could be like last update: 14.2.A.1.114 (certified) ==> 14.2.A.1.124 (certified) ==> 14.2.A.1.136 certified and released.
So again: wait and drink a cup of tea
After releasing New Flagship Device they might release kitkat for Z range

Therefore, that it's only a minor number forward from the last fw (136), it won't be anything near kitkat!
Maybe a minor Bugfix or extended update from 136 but nothing major!
Wait until the buildnumber changes to 14.3.X. to guess when kitkat will arrive, just a hint

Kitkat won't be out before Barcelona - that's 100% and this could go out, maybe it's just some regional patch.
But it's nothing big - that's obvious from build number.

I'm actually really impressed by the rate of updates for the Z1 so far. Granted this might not be released, but it looks like Sony has finally learned to be decently constant with updates.
i thought some Danish Carrier leaked out that 4.4 KitKat was coming to the Z1 in March
cant find the site at the mo but will look again later

The Z1 will most probably be updated first though

Yeah...They are working like crazy and fixing updates very quickly...
They are finally listening what we are talking...
And now with premium and elegant device like Z1 (and Z2 in the future) and great software - Sony will be the best choice (for me it always was)

That are mainly hardware issues and I really doubt it could be ever fixed...
Maybe they will succeed to make it better - like touchscreen sensitivity and yellow tint...
But that's not software - I'm 100% sure, why?
Because I'm using 290 firmware and it's working fantastic.
Without any touchscreen problems, with real white and black colors on screen and with great battery life...
Every single firmware I tried worked perfectly...534, 290 or 136 - without a single glitch.

Actually the Yellow tint is a known software, not hardware problem . The touchscreen problem is iffy, some say hardware while some say software. I actually would say the Z1 is almost flawless hardware wise, the problems start on the software side (yellow tint, camera, bluetooth, etc.)
It's good because that means Sony can fix most of the problems on the Z1. They already fixed yellow tint and bluetooth, now the touchscreen and camera optimization should happen soon.

I would say it's mix, it's a software, O.K but only on some devices which are using different screens and other parts (bluetooth chip and other parts).
It's impossible that you have problems and I don't have if we all have exactly the same hardware...
So the conclusion would be - we are both half right

[DISCUSSION] Xperia Z 4.4.2 Bugs and Errors..

Hey guys, since 4.4.2 has arrived.. I think its fair to create a thread where all of us can report whatever bugs exist in 10.5.A.0.230.. So that Sony can see this and fix them.. Or it might help our devs..
EDIT:
Bugs i found,
1. Wifi gets disabled by itself, a simple reboot solves it though.
2. Small stuttering on the notification bar.
3. RAM leak exists but gets fixed after a reboot(Google's 4.4.2 bug and its fixed in 4.4.3).
4. GPU drivers arent as good as in 4.3..
5. Over time, the fw becomes unstable'ish and shows some lags and apps take time to open.
6. Sometimes calls won't reach the other side and when it does, the caller(us) wont be able to hear anything from the other side.. This happens a lot like once in every 2-3 days..
7. Sometimes after video recording, there is no sound in the video.. Its MUTE..
7. All 4.4.2 Google's bugs..
If u have any other to add, mention me and i'll add em..
Fixes:
Most of the bugs are solved automatically after a simple reboot, if u face lags do wipe cache and dalvik cache and u will see the difference..
Google Play Services battery drain bug can be solved by disabling the Location service.

can someone post the screenshotys of the new UI and screens.... thanks..
I still can not hear the audio notification via bluetooth, Type whatsapp, viber, sms ... Sony removed this possibility since 4.3. It worked fine until the 4.2 version 67

It seems to be normal that 4.4 is a bit laggy, try out the following: "Settings--> Developer Options --> Force-GPU Rendering", after rebooting it should be a bit better :good:

Yeah its really annoying for kitkat to have a huge drain off battery
By the way, does anyone already tried this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix
Im still on 4.3 but confirmed info from my friend:
Camera app slower start, typical is 7sec but max was 14-17sec, and overall laggy camera menu.
Stock keyboard slower start, and laggy text select option.
Overall speed of menu is worst.
No audio notification via bluetooth
Battery "sucker" system apps.
4.4 stupid SD card limitation(but its google stupid idea)
Worst performance with GTA: SA
PS enabling Force-GPU Rendering or {omg} 4x MSAA is worst thing that you can do, because it make older apps lag or even FC.

Same performance in games (Real Racing 3), slightly better battery usage, almost same RAM usage, no lag in notification bar/area, for now superstable and smooth.
Saw someone posted that there's no the letter " L " to tap while pressing the 4.4.2 3 times,it just turns black screen, and few more press to reach the Android KitKat logo.
Looks like .227 and .230 is the same,Sony devs didn't fix anything.

It was expected, seems like they didn't put much effort into this, just to give us "something".I knew it they are not delaying the release just to perfect the firmware, but oh well, going back to my favorite AOSP.It was the same case back then, when they released 4.3 journalists version, then they gave us the very same firmware as official, despite the bugs that everyone was reporting. We got what we deserve I guess.

Dont expect camera improvements.

Dont expect camera improvements. [3]
Why?
BTW I think it already takes good pictures.
Maybe not as good as a newer Galaxy or Iphone but still very good. (But yeah it could be better with those hardware specs but maybe they are using their bad sample sensors for their own xperia's and hide behind "software problems" and they couldn't do that anymore when they would allow RAW?)

Ey, is everyone getting the sudden battery drop issue? You guys sure it ain't hardware related? Cuz if it is, I be selling my phone next month if this 5.1 update don't fix it. Gotta go back to removable battery like the G4 or Note 4, really gonna miss my Z1C though.

[ROM] E6533 Z3+ New stock ROM rolling out 32.3.A.2.33

Sony started to roll out a new Android version today for E6533 Z3+ Dual.
Update 1: Still Nougat 7.0, March security patch.
Update 2: Touch handling improved, for me it has way better display touch sensitivity than .376.
Update 3: The charging issue mentioned here still exists
Update 4: The ridiculously false BT battery consumption issue mentioned here still exists
Update 5: After 1 day I'd say battery still sucks
Testing in progress, updates coming continuously ...
Installed.. Nothing make difference.. It stucks...
The update also rolls out for Z3+ (no dual). I am installing it now.
From Xperia Blog:
Sony Mobile has released a new firmware update for the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet, moving the build number to 32.3.A.2.33. This latest version includes 1 March 2017 Google security patches and we are hearing reports that Sony may have finally fixed the audio issues introduced with the Android Nougat firmware. This includes a fix for the imbalance of top/bottom speakers and low in-call volume fix.
How about the storage needed from the Android system? Still almost 10 GB?
PS: I dont get it why Android 6.0.1 on the Z3+ needs almost 10 GB and the same Android on a M4 Aqua needs less than 5 GB ...

There is a lot of buzz surrounding 4G-LTE-VoLTE etc. Even though all these terms are related, there are a few basic differences.
1. 4G – 4G is an acronym for 4th Generation which is defined as the fourth generation of mobile data technology. International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has set a few standards with respect to mobile data speed and connection (100Mbit/s for high mobility devices and 1Gbit/s for low mobility or stationary devices). All 4G services must adhere to these standards. Basically, 4G network is designed to provide faster internet speeds as compared to 2G, 3G etc.
2. LTE – LTE stands for Long Term Evolution which is the technology used to achieve the 4G standards. It offers significantly higher internet speeds on cell phones and hand-held devices as compared to older communication standards such as 2G, 3G etc.
Usually these terms are used together as 4G LTE to denote high speed 4G services.
3. VoLTE – VoLTE or Voice over Long Term Evolution is a technology which lets you make cellular voice calls over the LTE network. It facilitates HD voice calls which means better call quality, faster call set-up etc.
I think he asked if this update contains VoLTE support is because some do..

Well mate it is indeed okay in MM, both .11 and .305 Unlocks 10/10 and also touch performs better overall.
I think this problem in Nougat may be due to some adjustments in touch firmware in aspect of glove mode on/off, because with glove mode on, there is no problem, but shows occasional ghost touches and general inaccuracy.
So a workaround for some people would be to turn glove mode on, given that they don't mind some side effects that may occur.
Hope this helped

Yea I forgot, that is a problem with the proximity sensor, which goes together with the touchscreen issue - it's okay in MM too.
For that I can't think of a workaround except to turn off the proximity sensor altogether, I think there was some xposed module for that (maybe there's another way too, I haven't looked)
