I got a used xt907. I rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, installed cwm and the latest cm11 ROM. Everything seems to work. My question is does GSM work out of the box for CM11?

Yes, at least for me: I'm using the 9/9/2014 nighty in Italy (clearly GSM). It worked well just after the flash.

i beleive that becasue the razr m is unlocked for international gsm. there is a hack to gsm unlock for US gsm networks
GSM/WCDMA/HSPA+ out of the box, I'm in China. CDMA/EVDO requires some hack here, though.

so i got an atrix from korea (MB861) did OTA to gingerbread
and I unlocked the bootloader (didn't flash any sbfs, it came with unlockable bootloader for some reason)
after unlocking, I flashed CWM and installed CM9 but it keeps rebooting
(tried other roms including AT&T stock rom)
any suggestions?
solved
solved..
just needed to flash a different radio file from CWM
Weird, what radio did you have before?
I think the kernel was the issue. The cm7/9 radio lib is a hack. Prob causing errors at run because your radio was not part of the hack solution. Is the mb861 3g only, no hdspa+?

if the problem is the radio support 2100, the brazillian carrier Tim supports it, i just dont know if the bootloader solution supports it, you should definetely look into it.

and yea i fixed it by flashing a france radio N_01.100.00R_FRANCE
Has anyone unlocked the bootloader on their Razr M retail version yet? It's been mentioned on some other forums that you can get the unlock code from Motorola website. This should then allow a recovery to be installed onto the phone.
So has anyone attempted it yet?
Not going to happen on retail non developer edition. /thread.

No, he's an Aussie , our RAzr Ms are unlockable.
My Australian Telstra branded Razr M spat out an unlock code via the motorola unlock website just like the dev edition phones do. It says right on that website if your phone is ineligible you will receive an error. And I got the code, not the error.
Ausdroid also says explicitly they have confirmation Aussie Razr M is unlockable via moto website.
PJcons, I notice the same discussion on whirlpool, seriously if you don't believe this answer then go and try it yourself, no point asking repeatedly esp as you are confusing people here who have the US CDMA verizon version not the aussie GSM/LTE1800 Telstra version. Also, there is already an existing thread (me lol) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964862
However re: actually unlocking, I can't confirm the last step i.e. actually doing it. The only reason I haven't actually gone ahead is because there is actually no point at this stage as we don't have access to any remotely mature custom ROMs, and the only CWM floating around is not confirmed working on our variant (though as long as it doesn't touch the radio, theoretically it should). But I'm reluctant to do anything without having a stock Telstra fastboot image as a last resort roll-back option, years and years of flashing droids has taught me that if nothing else. Theoretically though I do not see how it could possibly fail if you have the token.

FacePalm.
Yes we know AU is on Telstra ...
But what are the changes that causes the lock down.
Is it a Physical chip that has been changed or is it a 128Bit encryption that stops ppl from Unlocking the Verizon version ?
Pretty sure it's encryption... I remember seeing an article on how it was done, but no idea where...
Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
I think I read somewhere that Motorola uses 256bit encryption, but I could have dreamed that for all I know.
Either way, it's going to be tough to crack.
question on bootloader
I restored my firmware using Matt's Utility 1.20 back to 4.1.2 ( previously rooted, bl unlocked, running a rom) , however I cant unlock the bootloader anymore (the M logo shows up even after reboot) even after using the Motopocolypse from drjbliss. Is there anyway to fix this?

I'm having problems flashing roms to my device,
My baseband version is I337MVLUAMDJ
I'm seeing MDC, and MDL, but nothing on MDJ.
is this a rare type of baseband?
when i flash any rom, i get the reboot cycle.
i've cleared cache/wiped data etc.

Rooting and unlocking are two different things.
Rooting = full access to the android system.
Unlocking = network unlocking, so you can use the Robbers S4 on AT&T or another network.

Hey guys,
I used the above guys and managed to install CM 10.2 and it works.. okay.. I have to admit that I want to go back and try a debloated TW Rom again so that I can use the multiwindow, roaming and camera support that comes with the phone.
The biggest issue I have noticed that a number of ROMS do NOT show up in my Goo-Manager. I am guessing it is because of my MDJ Base-band. I have done some searching but cannot find any note of changing from MDJ - to MDL and therefore opening up some ROMS like CleanROM.
Please let me know if you have done anything like this before.
Cheers
Travis
hey guys, im terrible with Motorola phones for some reason and i cant find a root method for my droid razr m, im looking at tons of threads with "Root 4.4.2" in the title but none of the methods work, im on System version: 182.46.15.xt907 Build number : KDA20.62-15. could i be able to downgrade? thanks guys, sorry for sucking at finding threads...... i use the "Search" Tool like everyone complains but still can never find anything.

yeah dang it looks like im doomed, so i read that the update to .15 basically had all the security updates that 4.4.4 had, so Jcases Sunshine does only work on 4.4.3 devices and below (moto x/moto g/mini/ultra) currently 4.4.4 is not supported on shunshine (my moto x has 4.4.4) do you think sunshine would work if we get it updated and try it on .15?

Might as well try, but I think if there's already a working root method then the forum wouldn't have been silent like this.

Yea it wouldn't hurt to try as it says 1.6 doesn't need root and it won't charge you if it doesn't work...
We cannot teach people anything; we can only help them discover it within themselves.
