Questing about downgrading Kitkat 4.4.2 to JellyBean 4.3 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I have a Galaxy S4 that is a Canadian version (SGH-i337m).
It is currently running Android Kitkat 4.4.2 (Latest Update) - Stock Android.
As I do not like it, has so many buys and seems a battery killer, I was wondering am I able to downgrade to JellyBean 4.3?
Things you need to know about my device;
It is currently KNOX void 0x1
I have downloaded an official Android JellyBean 4.3 that is the stock to this phone
Is it possible to downgrade at this point? I do not want to install a cusom rom, I want to install the official JellyBean 4.3 that I have
If it is possible, can someone please tell me how?
Thank you

[Q] Firmware v4.3 WITHOUT Knox

Hi there,
Is it possible to install Android version 4.3 WITHOUT also installing the Knox bootloader?
I've just purchased a brand new S4 i9505. I'm running 4.2 with no Knox bootloader installed. I would like to upgrade to v4.3 but still retain the ability to downgrade to previous ROM versions. Is this possible?
Many thanks for any information you can provide.

[Q] [I9505] Custom rom on KN0X tripped phone?

Hey all, I'd like to install this rom, but my phone (S4 international GT-i9505) is KN0X tripped on 4.3. I currently run 4.3 stock. Is it safe to install this rom, and is it possible to downgrade back to 4.3 stock after?

Yup you can flash any custom rom via custom recovery and Yes you can still downgrade your phone into 4.3 stock rom but remember not to flash a Stock 4.4.2 Kitkat firmware because flashing 4.4.2 firmware can no longer downgrade to 4.3 stock rom. Flashing any custom rom/root will trigger your knox and If you wanna know more about knox , check this thread Have a nice day.

i337m 4.2.2 upgrade to 4.4.2 avoid Knox

Reading the forums, and i am more confused than when i started.
Anyhows i have a Rogers i337m at 4.2.2 rooted. Want to upgrade to 4.4.2 and avoid the Knox Trip. From what i understand 4.2.2 doesn't have knox. It came from 4.3 and above.
So whats the best approach to go about the upgrade that would allow me to come back to 4.2.2 so i can put it back to stock if required.

Install a custom recovery and install a 4.4.2 KK ROM - don't do the official update. The official update will update your bootloader allowing you to only SafeStrap and install TouchWiz ROMs.

Go with Mapple leaf from iB4STid. works good on I337M.

[Q] I9505 4.3 BL with 4.4.2 Rom possible ?

Is it possible to have a 4.3 bootloader but run a 4.4.2 rom (without BL) on a I9505 ?
Only ask as I don't want to update system and get stuck in 4.4.2 with no way of going back should I have issues (battery etc).
Ideally would like something stock or near stock deodexed
Cheers

There are options available to fit your needs in the I9505 Android development section

Bootloader question

First of all Hi everyone!
I bought an S4 for my girlfriend and have a question regarding this Knox bullsh*t. When I bought it out was running 4.2.2 i9505xxubmga firmware. I rooted and installed aosp rom on it. But she doesn't like aosp apparently..
So i wanted to know if it is possible to flash 4.4.2 Samsung rom without upgrading the bootloader to Knox enabled one?

Hey,
sorry, this is not possible with stock Samsung rom. When you upgrade to 4.4.2 knox bootloader will be activated. But it is possible to go back to 4.2.2 mga, this firmware uses the old knoxfree bootloader.
Edit: i think you can install a Samsung based custom rom like imperium rom, this is also knox free and compatible to the old bootloader but I'm quite not sure whether this will enable knox. I think it won't...

You can flash any custom rom you want. 4.4.2, 4.2.2, 4.3 etc. It doesn't matter.
You need the correct modem though if you have the old bootloader and anything above 4.3+ rom. You have to do some searching on the correct modem I can't remember which one it was.
