Working fine here. Stock/rooted 2.3. Facebook 1.5.3
Uninstall then reinstall

I have the same problem on CM7 stable, FB 1.5.3 - the application crashes immediately when clicking on "Profile", "Friends" or "Messages". I had no problems before the Facebook update.
Until the App is updated you could try the Flow-App for Facebook usage.
If you have a theme installed it won't work.... Remember they have to update the themes to accommodate the updated Facebook. It happened to me then I just went over to the stock CM7 theme and did a cache and dalvik cache wipe and reboot. If that doesn't fix it then a fresh install of cm7 or go back to the old Facebook. THIS IS ONLY FOR CM7 USERS WITH TMO THEME ENGINE THEMES INSTALLED.
It is doing the same on my phone. Installed a new CM7 this morning, no theme, and have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing cache, etc. It crashes regardless.
Same problem here, reading the market reviews looks like it's a major problem effecting many phones. Hopefully fb fixes it soon!
I have no idea how they get away with publishing such a bad update!
I'm convinced facebook has no testers lol.
they're just concerned with their iphone facebook!!
All CM7 ROMs appear to be affected:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042151
I rolled back to 1.5.2 and detached Facebook from the Market for now so it won't auto update.

The update works fine.
It's janky custom roms that are breaking with the update.
Reason number 1,038 why I run a stock rom.
Update broke Facebook for me too, even uninstalled and reinstalled still FC every chance except for first screen (news feed). Luckily I had a nandroid with 1.5.2 on it, which is working just fine for now. Keeping an eye out for a higher version than 1.5.3, judging by the ratings, there seem to be many others with the same problems.
BTW, Cyanogenmod is hardly "janky"... and I'd really love to see that list of reasons lol
Well, this thread is a pretty good example.
They take a working rom, add a bunch of features to it, and accordingly break it because their features don't follow any standardized method of doing things.

That's not quite how Cyanogen works. It's built from Google's open source code, not from the original ROM of the device. Anyway, carriers have a way of breaking working features too. Don't blame it all on the community developers

Facebook won't fix anything as their app isn't broken! It is custom roms that are broken. Ask your rom developer to fix their rom.
First of all, im sorry if this is not the appropriate place to post this. I just assume since all the posts on other ROMs were here, this would be it. So if a mod comes across this, please feel free to move it the the right spot.
I was wondering what sort of needs would each ROM be for? Personally, I like stock because everything is remote friendly, a simple environment, etc. But i do find that stock has its limitations, and am unsure if other ROMs could even remedy them, which is why im more curious as to the benefits of each.
What could you do on lollirock that you could do with stock? what about AOSP? I've not used them so honestly i personally dont know, which is why im here asking for information and opinions. From what ive seen with videos and such, they basically just look like your basic stock android that would appear on a regular device. I dont mind having to use a keyboard and mouse to set things up, but id much prefer to get rid of keyboard and mouse whenever i can, so if this mindset is right, then stock is already best for me? But if i can use AOSP or lollirock to configure how i want and allow me to do more, thatd be worth the trouble as long as in the end i can just use the remote or similar.
Depends on your needs. Stock is good for the most part. But stock was a no go for me. I really wanted to stay stock. But.......
I'm with Comcast. The HBOGo App just came out for the NP. I installed it. YAY! It asked for activation. Ok. Asked for my provider.... WTF? Comcast/Xfinity is not a supported provider....
So Comcast/Xfinity subscribers are screwed out of HBOGo. Well, with full AOSP 6.0 I installed the regular HBOGo app using the regular Google Play Store and now I can see all of my HBO shows.
So in the end it depends on what you need. If HBOGo had worked without me needing to root, install AOSP, etc.. I would have stayed stock. But that was not the case.
I'm a little partial to Cyanogen in general, but I'm using lolirock. I'm also using it unencrypted, with the external user partition, a different kernel and Xposed mods. Cyanogen didn't have a force unencrypt script that I saw.

Could you explain some other uses on AOSP that you couldnt do on stock? Personally I havent tried HBOGo, but every app I've tried so far, works via sideloading. Apps that were not on the android TV play store, I was able to install from the browser play store, and the ones that simply werent compatible with my device, Id use market helper to make the play store think it was a different, compatible device.

Could you provide some examples of things you do with lolirock that you couldnt do on stock? like what benefits do you have with cyanogen and xposed?
Lollirock enables some functionality that's missing on stock and AOSP, like working menu buttons.

I have always had good luck running Cyanogen on any android I have had. I have tried lots of other roms and regardless of device I have come into issues. Cyanogen just has a larger pool of devs. In lolirock it works like a big android tablet. I like to use a stock looking launcher and all the restrictions turned off. All the roms I flashed, lolilrock had no crashing, minimal force closes, and fairly compatible with apps.

You could adb install app or put app.APK on a flash drive and install from file manager. I have stock but for PIA and other android app that arent in NP stock play store, i download the files and install via adb. So far no problems for me. Im quite happy with how mine is setup.
At the end of the day its up to you and your preference. You should try everything out and see what meets your needs best.

Installing went fine and I've gotten things running. There are two major bugs despite their post saying "100% stable".
1) You cannot change the wallpaper in the settings. While I was able to change the home screen wallpaper with Nova launcher, I have not found a way to change the lock screen wallpaper. It will be stuck with the wallpaper of the custom boot image.
2) This rom is PLAGUED with "your device isn't compatible with this version" on the play store. It's nearly impossible to download your apps without using marketspoofer constantly. As a result, you won't be able to get updates for these apps. I'm talking about snapchat, spotify, etc. It's bad.
I'd highly advise against using this Rom for the time being. I'm switching back to Xiaomi.eu and will apply the 4g fix manually.

The lockscreen wallpaper bug exists on almost all MIUI ROMs. This is because you are using a different launcher from the stock one. Even I use Nova Launcher. The workaround to change lockscreen wallpapers is simple.
Go to settings>Installed Apps>Defaults
Change default launcher to System Launcher. Then press the home key so that the system launcher loads up. Now you can change your lockscreen wallpaper successfully and once you've done that, you can change the default launcher back to Nova. Sadly, this is the only way to do it and this bug isnt new. Has been there since a while.
I havent tried the Epic ROM so I can't comment on the issue with Playstore incompatibility.

I don't have such problem. All my apps are getting updates normally including the one you have mentioned. I have never seen the device isn't compatible error message with this rom. Not sure is something I do or something you do that's causing this. Been using the epic rom for more than 2 days now, buttery smooth and very good ram and battery management. Haven't noticed anything wrong so far.
Not having any issues whatsoever. Got like 100 apps from play store.

I guess no one else is facing issues with installing apps via Playstore. Maybe something got messed up during the ROM installation. Try clean flashing and it may solve the issue.
OP should maybe edit the title, it's a bit misleading as it seems like it's an isolated case, perhaps a clean flashing would solve the problem he is facing. With our community being this small, this post won't get sink that easily and for new comers, EPIC rom is a fantastic custom ROM

May be a coincidence,my personal set-up/apps disabled,IDK,but, I am now experiencing an issue similar to yours:
I have no problem loading or updating from the Google Play Store, but, I can no longer side-load apps. (Parsing Error)
I reverted to a GlobeROM backup that's based on the same update (7.1.5) & have no problems side-loading apps.

Interesting... I was able to install adaway, marketspoofer, xposed, etc fine. The ROM seems temperamental or just susceptible to isolated issues.

Another thing I forgot to mention was my Samsung Gear S2 wouldn't connect, the Gear Manager app crashed every time.
Works fine on EU & GlobeROM.
I'll try things out on the next EpicROM update, see if anything has changed, both as a dirty flash & starting from scratch.

I haven't tried EpicROM like I mentioned in another thread but I guess the reason some are experiencing issues with EpicROM is probably because the ROM has a lot of mods compared to the stock EU and Globe.
One of the mods I can recall is the Dolby Atmos sound mod. There are many other mods as well.
Hence dirty flashing the EpicROM may be the cause of the random issues. I assume the people who have no issues with Epic have done a clean install of the ROM.
This is one of the reasons why I don't prefer custom roms with a lot of mods. I always prefer having a base rom like EU and then manually modifying it to my requirements. That way I have a control over the mods and also helps me narrow down the cause of any issues that may arise.

I don't think epic rom has many mods (not yet at least). Actually the EU rom I installed has more mods than Epic, Epic has atom. My eu rom had arise viper, eu gps MOD, Dolby atom, scrolling animation MOD.
For me at least, I have only done dirty flash. So I came from clean 6.12.10 to 6.12.22 then to custom EU 6.12.29, then now custom Epic 7.1.5, all dirty from start.
That being said, I will see what epic provides on their next release. I may go back to custom EU as so far, I can't see any difference between them, but at least custom EU can select Arise and adaway pre-installed. Would save me 2 mins to install by myself.. Lol

I was referring to the weekly xiaomi.EU base ROM. I haven't noticed any mods on this ROM. I can confirm that there is no viper or dolby atmos because I don't see it anywhere in the ROM. I may be wrong and there may be some under the hood mods. But I haven't noticed anything so far.
I guess you may be referring to the MiGlobe ROM. Because nothing other than Gapps came pre-installed with the base EU ROM I am running.

Not sure if I should post here or the custom ROM page ( I figured that was more a development/issue forum ).
Anyway, today I see that /e/ has a release for the 6T. If I am reading it correctly it is basically LineageOS with microG......give or take, with it's own app store. Seems to me it would be more convenient to install 1 ready made pkg than intalling Lineage then installing micro G.
Has anyone installed it and what are your thoughts?
I am currently on the fence. I have rooted my phone and with Titanium and App Ops put Google, and most of the apps on a short leash. I love the way my phone is set up now EXCEPT google still lives inside it( without my google account info ).
Thanks for your thoughts!

ok, sounds like a pissy developer, but.......
ok, they haven't done anything new......except bundle it with micro G....kinda my goal. Not sure I will like their UI, but the lineage launcher is easy enough to reinstall.
3rd party apps.....absolutely no proof what so ever about the malware claim......rooted with Titanium can remove all the apps before the phone ever connects to the internet.
they haven't removed all the google stuff.........ONE, count it ONE, line of code using 8.8.8.8 as a fall back, not primary dns......I use a vpn all the time.
they steal code.....pretty much
they don't like negative feedback........no way, a prima dona developer?? Noooooooooooooooooo
Taking all of that in stride, Lineage plus micro G has not released an official version. What are my options with micro G? I thought by now there would be an official build since Lineage OS release their officail 6t build a few weeks back. I did look at your OS link, but not much info there.
Thanks! JC

ok, so what rom with micro g, no Gapps do you suggest?
The only google spying the other guy mentions is 1 line of code where google dns is the fall back dns. I use a vpn so that is a non issue.

Thank you for some real world input! Looks like I am going to stay with OOS. I downloaded the Pixel 3 camera apk today, the OxyTweaker Magisk module the other day, and, with Titatanium and App ops I have google on as short of a leash as I can with a factory ROM. I really like the way my phone is set up now. My battery is f**king AMAZING now and I have the best camera on the market. Until I am ready to 100% get rid of google I guess I will stay where I am.
Thanks again for actually replying to the question posed!
Ive tried searching, but cannot find if there is a ROM for the S5 that blocks all google back ground services from reporting on you, whatever info it may be. Ive seen the rumor of the company selling their refurb phones with a custom ROM on it, but at ludicrous prices, and cant even find them at all. Im going to be getting an S5 from a friend soon and want to start stripping it of the fluff and google services if at all possible.
I don't know of any custom ROMs that include Google services by default. Just don't install GApps.
OK, thanks.

Pardon the stupid questions, im a Windows user and having to investigate the possibility of being forced to move if they dont fix Cortana's voice command (she only does searches when you give her a command) and Interests have been turned off for a while with no warning or reason, but there is a message on a 8.1 phone as to why.
Anywho, how do you load apps if you dont have Gapps/google services? Can you side load them, but where do you get up to date ones if not from the Play store? Is it worth using a free S5 or plunking for a One Plus 6T or 7 or Nokia 8?
