Hey guys,
Is there any tool out there that will convert a normal G Pad into the GPE? I'm getting a used tab for my friend's birthday and would like to set him up with the stock experience without having to put CM or anything else on it.
No.
We tried to and failed.

CM11 should be just as good as the GPE as long as it is stable. I would just install CM11 and leave it at that.

Hi,
Been spending the last 3 days getting my phone all set up and fancy, and one of the things i would like to do is record both at 120 fps and in 4k on my D803. From what i could see all i needed was KitKat to do that... how ever all my attempts have so far resulted in boot loops. It has occurred to me that i might perhaps be missing something?
Is it even possible right now to have any of the camera mods that do 4k run on a d803? do i need a specific rom? (i've been using paranoidandroid)
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I tried Xdaddeb's... looked promising. but alas.... still caught in a boot loop on the d803.
it has to be lg stock kitkat, not pa or cm, if you read the thread you would of seen that just letting you know, but i believe jinshur is working on a port for pa and cm roms

Sorry -- To be honest... I have a very hard time reading instructions here... alot of things are abbreviated. Like Alot of things. And Firmware and ROM seem to be used interchangeably and in my world... they are not the same thing... but i still have not figured out if they are synonymous here
Its been a struggle so far but im starting to get the hang of it.
Thanks for the reply. Do you know if its possible to get stock kit kat on a d803?
Just going to bump my last question here: is it possible to get stock kit kat on a d803?
Hey guys I just got this G2 today for 240 off craigslist. I currently have a note 3 as a daily driver and wanted to experiment with this thing. I'm really into rooting and the note 3 development is slow at best. So i have the phone and i started poking around and learn that i'm already rooted .. There is a custom recovery installed i think it said phils somethign recovery.... it's rooted and all that.. i dont know what to do. .I made a back up... do I need to do anything else? Is the bootloader installed? I'm lost. But i'm really excited to get an AOKP rom or something .. Where do I go from here?

Probably Philz Touch 6? What is it running stock? Kitkat or JellyBean?
I had the exact same thing as you (bought it off a similar website) and mine had JellyBean,
so I flashed a stock Kitkat Rom onto it but kept the root. Loving it so far
Well Well have Pacman installed. Have been having issues. Not Not sure why. Is there anything more stable.

Yes stock KK is the most stable Rom I've ever used. No offense to aosp. They just don't offer anything but boring options, fc's, and sods

you can not just load G3 firmware on a G2 device.
This is what you will need to do to get it or use a rom like it;

Gabriel using Cloudys ROM atm, but wanted a way to make MMS work with stock messaging.

Hello, the ROM I recommend you use is CyanogenMod 11, I'm using this ROM right now on my LG G2, and I love the performance and numerous customizations you can do with it.[emoji4][emoji4][emoji4], what's your variant of the LG G2?

No problem [emoji4], the knock on gesture will still exist on the LG G2 running CyanogenMod 11, you'll just have to knock on the status bar to lock your phone, and you can knock on your screen to turn your phone back on again, make sure you backup your Stock LG ROM using TWRP before you continue to install the ROM, and download the latest Gapps(Google Apps) for the Rom.[emoji4][emoji4]
Good Luck[emoji106][emoji106]

I have an SGH-i337z on Cricket and I was able to root and install TWRP using hroark13's method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...cket-aio-sgh-i337z-jflteaio-twrp-2-7-t2858698)
I've been trying various CM builds, the Google Play Edition ROM and PACMAN, but they all seem to have issues (5GHz WiFi, one app or another not working properly, notification glitches). To be fair, they are AT&T ROMs. Also, it takes a bit of work to install as you have to remove the asserts line from each ROM before installing. But if you just want to root and use TWRP to backup it works fine!

Just out of curiosity, was the GPE ROM you tried the Lollipop one? Also, are there any roms for this phone that work well and stable in your experience?
I haven't tried any lollipop roms yet. The 4.4.4 kitkat GPE ROM was stable with the exception of breaking a music streaming app I use (subsonic). It was also the only ROM that identified the carrier as Cricket instead of AT&T.
Pacman I didn't really like so i can't speak much for its stability.
CM11 can be hit or miss. The nightly seem more stable than the stable or milestone versions usually, but one gave me 5GHz wifi problems. I was never able to use 5GHz with the milestone I tried.
Right now i am using 12/13 nightly CM11 and it has been running very well. I really like the slider shortcuts on the CM lock screen, so I'll probably just stick with CM.

Yes, CM11 is working great! If anything is broken I haven't come across it yet. There are certainly a lot available and any unified or AT&T ROM should work (no need for safestrap), so feel free to try out anything that looks good! I liked GPE and it seemed to work really well until I found it didn't work with one app I use occasionally (subsonic). You might not have any issues with apps you use. I also seemed to get better battery life with GPE. The wifi issue I had with an older CM11 build seems to have been fixed, so that's working well now. The author of the root I used seems to like Skyfall, so you could go that way if you like touchwiz.
Have some fun trying out a couple, and make a backup before installing something different so you can easily go back if you decide you liked one better.

FWIW, I've gotten Goldeneye, Skyfall and stock T-mobile running on my i337z with TWRP. I figured out that I needed to flash my phone's modules after flashing a touchwiz ROM for it to boot and run correctly. My i337z is on ND3. I uploaded the ND3 and NE2 modules in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57407130&postcount=75.
