How update firmware? Sony update no longer supporting
Hi, Anyone successfully update the firmware recently. When I try to use Sony update service that worked a few months ago on a different liveview device (that I laundered, it still worked afterwards for a while) the service has been discontinued and Sony's newer US software no longer supports Liveview. Does someone have a link to foreign sony software that still updates the firmware. Appreciate any suggestions. Problem is losing bluetooth connection despites tricks that previously worked with upgraded firmware (liveview charm and fixer). I like the device, especially as a clip on companion to conventional watches, and it is frustrating not to be able to use it. Thanks for any help if anyone is still out there with this adorable device

Hello, XDA members
I've gotten my hands on a really cheap Xperia X2 that was originally sold in China, and as a result the entire interface is in Chinese. I've managed to find a copy of a generic English ROM, but I have no idea how to flash it.
I'm familiar with the process of flashing ROMs to the older Xperia X1, but that phone was built by HTC, so I'm going to assume the method is completely different for the Sony-built X2.
The file I've downloaded is X2_1233-7729_GENERIC_EN_R3AA035_CDF1234-0918_R10A.software
I've also downloaded a cab that will change the phone's region and allow the phone to install software from a different region if connected to the Sony update service. I don't have the phone yet, so I'm not able to do much testing. But the update software available from Sony's website only supports Android-based Xperia models.
So, I have two questions:
1. Does someone know how to take that funky .software file and flash it to the phone?
or
2. Can anyone verify that if I download an old copy of the update service, it will still be able to connect to Sony and download a ROM for the phone?
Hi!
First of all, I just bought my new Z3 Compact
I want to use the PS4 Remote Play when I'm not in my house but I know that is only by WiFi network. I saw the xposed FakeWiFi app, but to install it I need the ROOT access in my device.
The thing is that I dont get the update yet and I still waiting in 5.0.2 from Spain (I use the phone in Argentina) and I want to know if I root my device, when the Lollipop update finally comes to me, I going to have any issue with the update?
I come from an Moto G that if you haven't 100% stock, the OTA fails and sometime hardbricks the phones.
One last thing. Anybody know when the OTA its arrive in my phone?
Thanks You!
Try updateing with Sony PC compangion
-"Your phone is up to date"
Hi All
Hoping you can help as i am struggling to understand how this all works with this manufacturer. I got this tablet yesterday and love it so far ... upon starting the tablet i was greeted with an update notification that i initially figured was for 7.0 - turns out this was a patch for 6.0.
This is all great except i noticed in another thread that someone with the same version and based in the uk received the update. Mine wont find it. I tried the PC software to see if this would work as it used to on other manufacturers (Sony for example) but it said i was up to date.
I would prefer to update the official way if possible (not my first BBQ, have had more android tablets than you can poke a stick at - have resorted to all sorts of ways to get the next software before)
Any ideas anyone ? least possible effort as i don't want to corrupt this awesome piece of kit !
From what I can tell they roll it out in waves based on the device's IMEI. I also haven't received it in Italy when some people in neighbouring countries have. I guess all you can do is wait. By the way, corrupting the device is not that easy, if you want to test Nougat right now, you can get it using Firmware Finder, then you can roll back to the regular version using a rollback package you can find on Huawei's website. Worst case scenario, you will have to factory reset, but it won't be a big deal I guess since you just got it. I was able to roll back from a failed flash of Nougat just fine, then reflashed the correct version of Nougat and used it for a while, then rolled back again because I heard the official ota is coming, and it always worked just fine.
Ok great thanks for confirming. i almost went for the galaxytab s2 again (my wife swindled me out of my old one ! ) but glad i didn't - this one runs better on 6.0 than the s2 on 7.0 i noticed.
Hello There awesome people.
So i had an internet issue so i didn't have internet for a good amount of time. After i got it back i upgraded my old version 16XXX tlusing the update tool, but it only upgraded to 171XX! Although there is much newer versions, it keeps saying "you are updated to the latest version" over and over for like a week, and no newer versions has succeeded in arriving, does anyone know a solution for this?
I have the ONA19TB002, and it still has old firmware, as I disabled the Wireless Update, due to reports of it installing software on its own. Malwarebytes really doesn't like that product. Is there a good way of getting updated firmware without potentially unwanted programs being installed? I see someone uploaded firmware, but not sure about trusting that either? Is there an Onn, tech support website or contact information? Thank you.
Does the lack of responses mean it's either take a chance with Wireless Update, or take a chance with uploaded firmware?
Thanks
Use the update here in the forum. I've personally used it a couple of times. It's fine.
I got an ONA19TB002 too stuck on build 20190516. Wireless update installed an update once to fix the audio jack but nothing after that. It didn't take the November OTA from the Stock Backups/Images thread and the 'July' OTA while it installed, nothing really changed as far as I can see. How does one flash the full image?
Anyway one how to update this thing?
