Agree, disagree - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I enable location in settings, it's asking for agree, disagree it's annoying me, is there is any way to agree once for all.?
Also in location settings once enabled first it's going for high accuracy, I wanted to have always on power savings mode whenever I activate location.
I am on UK btu completely stock room.
Thanks

Instead of enabling/disabling location service, you can enabling/disabling GPS. It will not ask for agree/disagree.

How? Latest UK btu rom G1 doesn't have GPS separately, it's have just location

Really?
You can activate/deactivate GPS with only "1 click" by:
- Using notification panel (GPS icon).
- OR Settings > Location services > Use GPS sattelites.

GPS icon was in little older rom, now only location icon in Notification bar

The OP is correct, no separate GPS. This agree/disagree bugs me too, but I grudgingly live with it.

In Location settings, you can choose to use between GPS, GPS+network or only network. Unfortunately, I don't know any way to automate to specific option, GPS + network is being the default one.
Also, the agree/disagree popup can be disabled by using this Xposed module - http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.mohammadag.disablelocationconsent

Yes, there is a solution.
You need Root first.
Then you need Xposed Installer
Then you need this module
Good luck . . .

I have a rather stupid question.........

Ok if I disable all location services in the settings tab underneath "location" will this completely turn off GPS and location??? I say this because I remember once I did this to save battery but in the taskbar above there was still a globe present meaning location services were on. (Im guessing) Would there be anything else to disable. I shutdown Google maps also.
the location services do not use gps, they use triangulation (uses the service towers to give a rough estimate where you are; plenty enough to figure out what city you're in).
So this has nothing to do with gps. GPS is always off unless an application is using it (aka a navigation program or google maps with "Use GPS" checked).
Are you using a custom task bar? I don't believe the stock one has a globe as one of the icons. If you are talking about a custom task bar, then you're probably talking bout the equivalent of the triangle in the stock task bar which is the 'roaming' icon. I'm pretty sure that icon is always on when using Tmobile in the USA with winmo and they just got rid of the icon (so it's on, but it's blank). Don't worry about that, it doesn't mean squat for tmobile USA (Tmobile pays other companies to let their customers use their signal).
Hope that helps
Ok thanks that makes sense because I am roaming......would turning off the location services have an effect on the battery also??

[Q] Auto Unlock Zone Feature

This post mentions the S4 having the Auto Unlock Zone feature which disables the lockscreen when you are on a trusted WiFi network:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204008
Auto unlock zone
You can add several "home" Wi-Fi networks and the lockscreen will be disabled when the Galaxy S4 hooks up to one of them. This way you can have a secure PIN lockscreen outside and a quick unlock at home or the office
I can't seem to find this feature on our phone. Does anyone have it working?
I dont see it. i have tried changing lock styles around as well as looking in the wifi settings. unless its in some other hidden corner in the setting menu it might have been something blocked by region or carrier for some reason. you could try asking in that thread and see if anyone can help out. update here if you find something out please. i think thats a pretty cool feature.
It's in settings<location services<my places

I dont see anything there that says how to turn this on?
I'd like to turn this feature on as well. In gsmarenas review it says its there but their review unit had a white settings menu. My guess is that it was removed on the production units. Hope it comes back in later firmware updates.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s4-review-910p4.php
Has anything new been discovered about this? Not avail on my Sprint unit. Any way to get this feature on?
Looks like a lot of devices are missing this feature. In the mean time you can use HOME UNLOCK for free from the market.

For anyone still don't know, if you want to quickly access Bluetooth or Wifi settings page, just tap on the "label" underneath the Wifi/Bluetooth icons and you will go directly into the settings page.

Nope, only 4G on/off
You'd need a framework modification for this, i'd assume.
Anyone know how can we access quickly the other settings?
I really miss that option.
Plus 2g/3g toggle would be nice.
Thanks mate, specially just upgrade from kitkat

MIUI notes/tips

I don't know about anyone else, but this is my first MIUI phone.
I thought it would be useful to start a thread regarding MIUI notes/tips/etc that are specific to MIUI.
The first big one of course - how to fix push notifications:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/bensin/...ions-on-xiaomis-miui-8-for-real/#11f834174e1b
I was about to start this very thread
I found a cool feature
You can select several photos for deleting by simply gliding your fingers over the photos
Another cool feature
You can orient that device do that it's upside
The top bezel-less becomes downwards.
The phone is also programmed to rotate it to the standard orientation during a phone call because of Mic location.
One thing I quite like is how specific WIFI connects can be disabled without having to remove them.
Our work WIFI blocks certain things, so it's nice to be able to disable it but not have
to totally remove it (and then reenter all the passwords when I re-enter it).

For each WIFI connection, there is a little > to the right of it.
If you touch that you go into another menu, and one option is 'auto connect on/off'.
Turning off autoconnect helps in situations where there are multiple WIFI signals, but you only want it autoconnecting to a specific one.

Expand Notifications
2 finger swipe on notifications displays their details (or what is called Peek)

Thanks for clarifying.
What if I'm in the range of two networks that I've saved the passwords for.
Which does the mi mix connect to when I enter range?
Looks like the last one I've connected to.

That's actually a primitive way of doing it.
Samsung did it better by letting you 'peek' one-handedly with a simple swipe down of the notification.
With mi mix, I have to use two hands. I can do it with one hand but it's tough.

And just found out, we can't "swipe away" the notifications from the lockscreen directly. Need to pull down the shade and clear from there. Would this not be considered a stupid decision?!

Perhaps there's a solution if you root/install Xposed & a module is available for lockscreen options.
I'm rooted, but, haven't used Xposed in ages, considering trying it again......
On Samsung devices,(non-root) Ad Blocking apps have a persistent notification on the lockscreen that cannot be swiped away,.The only remedy for this was to turn off the ad blocking.

I followed all the steps.
I understood that there are several instances of settings and installed apps.
I went through all of them but still could not disable or uninstall pre-loaded apps like Mi Credit, Mi Cloud and all those Mi nonsense apps.

Those are uninstallable I guess (as Mi earns from these apps and not selling the phone), few rubbish were uninstalled using this method.
I should be able to disable them though
Apparently not
Some more MIUI notes:
menu + volume down = screenshot
hardware test: dial *#*#6484#*#*
More phone info: dial *#*#4636#*#*
There is a toggle to disable the navigation buttons (double tap them to re-enable)
handy if you keep accidentally hitting them.
in 'buttons' can auto disable for any particular app (games)
In accessibility there is a magnification mode - triple tap to allow/disable zooming of screen. (EDIT: it's bugged - it isn't supposed to trigger during keyboard typing, but it does, effectively making it useless)
wake with volume buttons is in lockscreen menu, not "button"
There are some apps that just won't stay uninstalled. Anyone got idea how to remove them? PPTV for example

GPS Spoofing

After successfully spoofing my position I can't make my GPS to work normally again; the GPS icon appears in the status bar but it doesn't detect my location, doesn't matter how long I wait.
A-GPS, WLAN/Bluetooth scanning and Google location accuracy are all disabled before, during and after the spoofing.
I'm on MIUI by xiaomi.eu 11.0.6 stable (QFJCNXM).

On this miui version there isn't an option for turning GPS spoofing off, closest thing is just selecting "nothing" in the "Select mock location app" section, which I had already done.
The fastest way is to reset, if you tried everything
I've actually installed another rom (pixel experience, whose thread is the most viewed for this phone on this forum), so I had to wipe everything and also format data but gps still can't find my position, without wireless/network scanning lol... What the hell... Before spoofing it worked perfectly and quickly
Try gps fixer click
