How many of you have installed Xposed on stock rooted ROM. Does it work? Anything you should be aware of. Some told me that ART will not work, however I don't know what will be the result of it not working. I can re-install the ROM I am using and switch ART to Dalvik. Thank you for any comments.

Don`t use it myself atm but it works very well and there are a lot of usefull modules to use. Yes, Xposed only works with Dalvik runtime atm.

So I stayed away from Lollipop due to silent mode being gone. Finally updated and sure enough hate the sounds modes. I saw there was an exposed module to bring back KitKat silent mode.
Been doing tons of research on this forum and other websites and can't find a clear answer. Does exposed work on the Verizon S5 on Lollipop?
Some sites say at first it didn't but it was then updated..then other sites say even the update won't work on touchwiz ROMS? Idk if that just means stock VZW ROMS or even custom touchwiz ROMS?? Very confusing
If anyone knows please let me know. Also if it WILL work are there instructions for this phone specifically. Any Xposed instructions I find mention booting to a customer recovery...and then I remembered hearing that safestrap doesn't work on Lollipop so idk

I've done many clean install of kitkat previously.. Every time I switch roms so I know my phone is always running the best it can. Did the same when installing lollipop last night..full charge over night and man is this battery life bad compared to kit kat..didn't use my phone much this morning and just used it for an hour or so now and I'm at 60%

Xposed afaik currently unofficially works with certain deodexed touchwiz roms
i'm using this version of xposed and it works fine. You do need to use FlashFire to flash the zip though give it a try just install the app then flash the zip.

Yes. Samsung has done some of their own tinkering with ART on lollipop which makes Xposed cause a bootloop. The unofficial version only works on Deodexed versions.
@aholeinthewor1d
If you want to use Xposed on TW Lollipop, you can use this ROM. Then you can go here to install Xposed.
Also, Safestrap DOES work on Lollipop, you just have to use a KitKat kernel to access it. This app/thread makes accessing Safestrap on Lollipop extremely easy. No need for a computer.
I'm going to root my note 4 N910f with a custom rom once I've rooted.
The rom I've decided is simple rom the first question is will that be fine and what will be the disadvantages to that rom?
I would also like to know if I flash that custom rom onto my note 4 will I be able to use xposed for it? Unsure about all this deodexed stuff
Thank you in advance for any help.
It will be fine with no disadvantages.. I've used SimpleRom for a couple of months (then I got bored of TouchWiz and I've moved to AOSP) and I can tell you that SimpleRom is one of the best TW ROMs for our device.
SimpleRom v4f comes with Xposed preinstalled.

That's fine mate, how should I go about backing up everything before I root and flash a rom?
My advice is to just save your important files (pictures, videos, documents...) on your pc and, after root, install twrp and perform a clean install of the ROM (wiping system, data, dalvik, cache) and start all over again.
A fresh install (and without restoring backups) is always better to keep the best performance of the ROM. Of course you'll can put back your picture, documents, etc with no problems.
When you'll get familiar with root and recoveries, you'll learn how to backup properly with apps like titanium backup and/or make nandroid backups with your recovery.
have looked through a different threads for a solution to this problem and cannot find anything to help me, i have a galaxy s4 running lollipop 5.0.1 ( Armv7), phone is rooted and has TWRP custom recovery installed tonight i have tried to flash xposed framework , it flashes fine i then clear my cache and dalvik and reboot phone only to have an infinite samsung logo. this is only solved by using the framework un-installer. i have tried all versions from v75-v85 but still get the same problem. anyone have a solution for this or should i just give up?
Have you read the part which mentions you need a special version for TouchWiz ROMs?
No i'm afraid i haven't seen it, just looked through my system files and came across touchwiz. Where do i go from here, do i have to reflash a new custom recovery or is it simply a different framework zip file?

I have follwed instructions on the thread, have download and tried to flash but keep getting an error because my ROM is not deodexed, i truly have no idea how to do this.

You apparently haven't followed or read them carefully enough, because the thread also gives you links on how to deodex.
Just throwing this here.

Hello, I am curious to know if anyone has tried the Xposed Framework on a G7-L01 and if so, what if any issues they have come across?
I've been following Xposed Framework v82-Huawei for EMUI 3.1/4.0 and I'm about ready to jump in and install the framework, but just want to check with other users first
Any advice would be appreciated :good:
Hi, I successfully installed Xposed on my G7 and it is working without issues. Just not getting CM13 installed somehow but at least am on rooted stock version.

Excellent, held off on mine just till the weekend, but can I ask you, for the G7 did you use the ARM or the ARMx64 zip? I'm thinking the ARM is correct, but might be wrong.
install systemless xposed

Correct, it is ARM, not the 64bit version.

Had a go with Magisk, v7 went on no problem. I then flashed the modded Xposed and lost root. I had put SuperSU as user app, but was not interested in using the systemless SuperSU and suhide, but by not using them, that possibly led to the root going. Will keep an eye on Magisk though, interesting development.
Restored backup and went with the ARM version of Xposed Framework v86 proper and so far OK, root stayed anyway which was main thing.
I've only tried XToast module, to test and it is not fully working for me. Will try another few modules before I decide if I want to try systemless again.

Thanks for confirming, appreciated :good:
Any recomendations for good working Xposed modules for the G7?
Main reason I want to try it, is lack of custom roms for this device, so might as well mod the stock rom to suit myself.
I have Viper4Android, on and working, but looking for a way to automate the selinux enforcing for it through an Xposed module, but any other suggestions are welcome

Hey aStRaL_dRaGoN, thanks for the reply and the offer. I went with normal Xposed and normal root in the end and so far all is OK.
I don't play Pokémon Go or have any banking apps that would require me to go fully systemless just yet. I did try it out though and Magisk, went on OK, no problems, the issue arose when I flashed the modded Xposed zip, I lost root then. I can only assume it was because I did not have SuperSU, fully systemless, I had just not made it a system app, I left it as a user app. Maybe some other time though I'll go back to the Magisk route and if I have any problems, I'll ask you, thank you :good:
hello everybody here !
i've a problem when install GOLDENEYE 53 rom on my S4 AT&T ( SGH-I337 )

i try to install from 4.4.2 , 4.4.4 , 5.0.1 and still give this error
i just want to deodex my stock rom but i don't know how to deodex .. then i found the GOLDENEYE rom but i can't flash the rom
anyone help me please
I don't know much about safe strap as I'm still on the exploitable MDL bootloader, but make sure you are using the latest safe strap version. I think you have to boot the ROM in slot 1/main ROM slot. You also probably need to wipe system, data, cache partition, and dalvik cache too just like booting ROMs with TWRP recovery. There's also a guide here:

i'm using SafeStrap 3.75 ( Last Version )
and when i install i wipe system , data , cache partition and dalvik but it still failed
i've tried from 4.4.2 , 4.4.4 and 5.0.1
what should i do ?
if there are a method to DeOdex the system ( 5.0.1 stock ) tell me
i just wanna use xposed on 5.0.1 .
If I can recall correctly when I flashed the goldeneye rom a couple months ago I used an older version of safestrap... I just looked 3.72. You have to use this one newer ones won't work for some reason I remember reading. The rom runs great I suggest it to anyone who still has an s4 lying around.

Ah thanks for pointing out he needs an earlier safe strap version, I figured the newest one would work. Of course this is from a guy (me) that is still on the MDL bootloader so I know very little about safe strap. Goldeneye is an awesome ROM, only 2 or 3 things I don't like about it. Other than that it is a very good ROM.

There is a way to deodex the stock ROM, but it involves knowing how Android programming languages work, which i do not know. Try doing what paintballa said in the post above and use safe strap 3.72 to boot golden eye Rom.

I don't like that when you push the home button to make the screen come on, it stays on for like 1.3 seconds only. You cannot see who a text message is from on the lock screen unless you enable "show preview of message on notifcation status bar". The way call and message logs work (if you set it to say message logs only and then exit out, when you come back it auto resets to "all logs"). The widget tab in the app drawer is gone. Battery life was way better when i was on jellybean 4.2.2 before installing golden eye, of course this just might be how lollipop works. Other than those few things it's a solid ROM and I highly recommend it.
