[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note 3 issue with system animations overriding - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After the last update of my note 3 (firmware N9005XXUGNG1) i started having problems with system animations. I use nova launcher with custom app opening animations, but when i open an app which is already in my recent app list, the system stock animation is played instead. This doesn't happen if i run the app after having closed it and also if i return to the homescreen and reopen the same app twice. If i do so, the custom animation is played.
The issue is found also in the recent app list itself: if i go to the multitasking menu and reopen the app i'm using, a nice animation of the app is played, with the screen inflating the app from its preview. But then, if i jump to another app from the same menu, the animation is skipped and the app is opened from the center of the screen. This makes the UI look ugly and so buggy.
Is anyone having the same issue? Is there any fix?

[Q] Pausing Live Wallpaper when opening app drawer?

Hi. I recently tried to find out from the LauncherPro forum if there is a way to rectify a lag problem when using Live wallpaper and the app drawer but apparently there is just no way? I'm having trouble believing and thought I'd post it here.
Basically, if using a live wallpaper, the app drawer is REALLY choppy/laggy and skips frames. I was thinking perhaps if there is a way to "pause" the LWP or something like that when pulling the app drawer.
This is the original topic from the LauncherPro forum:

The very reason I stopped using LiveWallpapers.
All fine and dandy showing off when iPhone users are around, but disabling LWP brings my TAB back to silky smooth operation.

[Bug] App drawer empty after exiting app

Hi all. I have encountered a bug on the stock launcher, where you launch the app from the drawer and after using the app, you exit and return to the drawer, the drawer is blank and only has the home icon...
Mostly happen when I return from memory intensive apps like modern combat 2

Don't know the reason for this, but used to happen to me as well.
I'm assuming you're rooted and are running a CM7 based ROM, so just go to CyanogenMod settings -> Performance -> Lock home in memory.
I got the same thing going on too sometimes. In addition, sometimes when I exit an app the home screen(s) are blank -with just my background & nothing else. It acts exactly like the blank app drawer does. Everything returns after a few seconds though. I'm maybe thinking that it has something to do with low available RAM??
I'm not rooted, stock 2.3.4
I might be going the rooted route here soon to try & resolve this issue, along with my reboot issue during calls.
The launcher is being killed from ram (memory) because the application you are using is requiring too much.
Like the other poster said you can check "keep launcher in memory" in some roms and also in launcher settings for some launchers. This however is not a full guarantee that it will not be purged.

I'm seeing this as well. A reboot tends to clear it up for a while but it eventually starts happening again after a few days to a week. Stock 2.3.4 i9020T.

Launcher 7 delay

Hi!
I'm experiencing some delay in Launcher 7 lately, i have the donate version 1.0.0.90.
Sometimes when I hit the homebutton everything is still black, if I try to scroll the non animated tiles show up, but it seems "frozen". I can start apps but don't get the animation for it, also the app drawer list is not showing any apps. After a while, let's say 10 seconds, the animated contact tile is showing again and all the apps are listed in the app drawer, but this only holds as long as I don't open an app and return the launcher again :/
Anyone experiencing the same issues?
Thanks in advance, Smirny
I have experienced these before, especially with darkys ram scipt. Which ROM are you using?

Simple trick to remove lag on Home screen after exiting an app, using Nova launcher

I think this issue started only after Jelly Bean.I'm not sure though.
THE LAG:
-> After exiting an heavy app using Home button, such as Facebook if you swipe left or right there is a minor shutter for 2-3 swipes.
After that the UI becomes fluid.
-> If you are updating/installing many apps and your notification bar is constantly being updated, navigating in home screen is very laggy.
-> If you get a message like "Wifi Connected" or "Message delivered to XYZ", during that brief moment the UI lags.
THE SOLUTION (Using Nova Launcher):
1) Enable Labs in Nova launcher.
How: While in Nova's settings menu, hold volume down for 2-3 seconds. You'll see a toast notification letting you know that Labs was successfully enabled. Similarly, if you wish to disable the new menu for any reason, just hold volume up for 2-3 seconds.
2) Go to labs.
Tick the following two settings:
a. UI Lock
b. Widget Image Cache
That's it. Enjoy the UI smoothness like iOS.
I've tried it for whole day and the battery isn't affected at all. No sacrifice in performance either.
Quick bump!!
Does it work for any one else or is it just a Placebo for me?
It didn't work for me. I still have the stutter.
If you are on nova launcher prime goto advance settings in nova and click on aggressive desktop. No more lags.
Note : nova version should be 2.0 for this

I'm running the brand new Nova beta (2.0.1 beta 1). UI Lock and Widget Image Cache were already ticked/enabled. So it looks like these might be enabled by default in future builds.

Losing the 4.2 task switcher (recent apps) animation?

Does anyone else have an issue with losing the new 4.2 task switcher animation? It's the animation where the current app minimizes and the name of the app swoops in from the left. Could it be an app or ROM issue that disables the animation? The apps/ROM I'm using which I think may interfere with the animation are:
CM 10.1 nightly
Nova Launcher
LMT
Anyone else notice the same issues? It's just a cosmetic annoyance (firstworldproblems) but I would like to get it back. With the settings above, I had a few times where the animation was back until I rebooted the phone which I then lost thereafter. Seems kinda random so it's more of a "bug" then just a direct incompatibility.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I am on stock and for me the current app minimizes and the new one zooms in.
Now I am noticing that the JB animations actually used to bounce (kinda from top) in the new app from top but now it just zooms in from middle of the screen.
