Does anyone know if I can flash a phone with a blacklisted IMEI. I lost out on $300 and would like to do something. SPRINT GALAXY S5
Think for setting other IMEI and so on (illegal...) you need an jtag flasher...
But you can flash it normal with Odin i think? The only thing is you cant Connect to networks

This is also illegal not not allowed to be discussed on these forums.
Thread closed. As has already been mentioned, changing the IMEI to "unblack list" a device is illegal in most places and isn't allowed on xda.
Thanks!

Use a SW called iMEI editor
root the phone, and change the IMEI.
When reboot, the phone do not have IMEI anymore. The IMEI is empty.
No EMEI, NO network
Any one know how can I get a new IMEI???
Thanks

Think you might want to say why you were changing your IMEI number.
IMEI changing is illegal (OP asking to get new), restore is different thing

That very much depends on where you are - it isn't illegal in some countries!
However, it isn't a permitted topic on XDA.

Hello, I was trying to unlock my galaxy tab P7500, and for some reason I lost the efs backup, or it got overwritten or something, base line, I don't have the backup, now the IMEI is 004999010640000 and the serial number is 00000000000, obviously, it does not connect to the network, I've tried every post I found that states I can restore my IMEI, flashed older firmware, flashed the original one and many other things, but none seems to work, so now I really don't know what else to do, I know my IMEI number and my serial because is still in the sticker on the back of the tab, and is in the sticker on the box, and is on the purchase receipt.
So any ideas what should I do?
GT-P7500 from movistar venezuela, now on Official ICS LQ8 ITV
Do u still have the imei number that on the back of ur tab? If u do I advise to you is going over to t-mobile gs 3 dev section. They have a tool call nv and imei injection and give it a shot.

thanks!, is that a web site? or a office? I'm currently in Bogotá, Colombia, so if your advice needs me to take the tab to a t-mob office I think is not going to be possible.

You can purchase used motherboards on eBay but they may be hard to come by. Generally a used MB either has a bad ESN if it is carrier branded or it has something else wrong possibly water damage. What is wrong with your signal? Why are you trying to get a new MB

IMEI would not be blocked the phone sells fully unlocked. Try to
1. Do a hard reset
2. Flash new stock firmware via Odin
3. Try a different SIM from another carrier.
4. Try to restore the IMEI EFS NV-data.bin file.

I believe Philz CWM has an option in recovery to restore your EFS check here
Hopefully a backup exists on your phone if not your going to have to restore without a backup. Search the forums here on how to restore without a backup if that does not work

poped my EE sim in phone found a good signal spot ,strange i can get data downloads but no voice or sms ,puzzled now
Your better off calling a carrier (3, t mob etc) ask them to check the imei. I brought 1 off ebay, worked great for 2 weeks then lost signal, tried loads of sims, some showed signal but wouldnt let me make or recieve calls or txts, searched online if the imei was blocked and just got msgs sayin "valid" in the end called 3 even though the phone is sim free but was sent out with a new 3 sim, they told me it had been blacklisted as a fraud case and the phone will never work and to bin the phone. This gave me a challenge, brought a 2nd phone from the states with a broken screen (US blacklisted imei can sometimes work in the uk) chamged the boards and now have a working s4

Send over your IMEI in PM and I can check whether it is blocked or not.
Thanks all. Please delete.
Switching IMEI is illegal and it will work AFAIK

I some how changed imei by downgrading DBE 5.0.2 to KK then updating it to BTU LP then installing simple rom. I didn't want it to happen but it did. Phone works fine.

I am aware it is illegal. I am not asking how to do it, or if I should and not saying that I will. Simply asking if an imei can work on a different device.

Yeah, it can work on a different device, obviously don't do it.
The consequences can be severe if caught messing with the device's IMEI #

As I said, not sure where or how but it changed it. I only realised it when I was selling it. This guy buying it checked the imei from the dialpad. And it didn't match the box or the back of the phone.
I installed BTU Lollipop for him before selling.
It was N910F European one.
Now I just got N910C Arab one.

Yes, I definitely will not be doing it. No worries. Disregard anything I said before, this is simply research for an emulator and android app I am developing.
Qualcomm devices are prone to getting the IMEI corrupted, my Qualcomm Note 3 kicked the bucket that way after some custom ROM experiments. Exynos variants are much less susceptible to this, so I grabbed a N910C this time 'round
For those curious: Qualcomm NV tools can save your device's IMEI and CERT - these absolutely _must_ be paired to access a mobile network. You can backup and restore IMEIs this way, note that installing another device's IMEI and CERT pair is highly illegal.
Even Samsung repair shops don't transfer your old IMEI when swapping motherboards (because doing so would be a violation of the GSM spec) - they give you a new sticker!

Well, by that logic, as long as you have the imei sticker, put it in your phone in place of your old sticker, and change to that number, you will be fine.
If only there was a tool to do this. Can't seem to find any. Oh well. : (

I am almost a complete noob but i have a question which may be considered illegal... let me explain, I am from nigeria and data cost here is very expensive but not to blackberry. Many using MTK devices have been able to change their imei to that of blackberry and it work.... But i'VE tried many ways but seems not to help.... I have you xposed imei changer and efs professional but non help... my question is if there is any way i can delete my current imei so efs professional can help write a new one
Illegal. No one here will help you. Sorry.
It's my understanding that you can change imei but you have to change it to a imei of another phone that you have in your possession and you have to always have that device but you can never use it because if you ever use it it will kill both devices and also this prevents the imei ever being duplicate to any other do you understand what I'm saying

Use mtk dorid tool where you will find imei change option but backup first
..
Logically u can but im against it. God forbid if u lost ur phone with the fake imei you couldnt find your phone back. And moreover there cant be two phone with same imei. Have you imagine that sun and moon rise together??? Even if u have dual sim both have unique imei
I think it's illegal but you should do something with MTK engineering mod app from play store ( if you don't have root ) or with chamelephon app if you have root
