Sounds weird.
Try to 'Wipe Cache' in the custom recovery (if you have one installed)

OK, check to see if there is '.nomedia' file in these folders?

Have you tried to remove and insert again your sd card? sometimes it solves this kind of problems.

Are you sure?
To make sure, install ES File Explorer, open Menu --> Tools --> select 'Show hidden files', press Back to exit the Menu and go to these folder again to check if there is '.nomedia' file.

Check .nomedia file using root browser app(not the stock one) & delete it..
Hope it helps!!

no guys, I just created a folder and copied two pictures in this folder, but the folder is not seen, so I'm sure I do not have any file .nomedia.

Have u turned off media scanner??
This service checks for media files after reboot..

I had this some times as well. I would then go into All Apps and force stop the gallery, and then clear data & cache. Then I would do the same thing for the Media Storage. After this, I reboot the phone and the Media Scanner rebuilds the Media library and keeps it updated.
Hope this helps.

Accidentally installed "Cracked App"

Hi, I accidentally installed an apk with a name of "cracked app" as described here:
http://www.gfi.com/blog/cracked-android-apps-dabble-in-ad-clicks/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+SunbeltBlog+(GFI+Labs+(OLD))&utm_content=Google+Reader
I have uninstalled it but I fear that it remained on my device and will do things like credentials thief etc. How can I make sure it's gone?
Thanks.

Factory restore will get rid of it

I don't know if there's anything to get rid of and I don't want to do a factory reset without being sure because I have just finished customizing my Nexus 4. Is there any way to check if it still exists?
Hi,
With a file explorer check mainly in /data/data, /data/app and /data/app-lib if there is the app, app package name, or anything related to this app.
Or easier with the file explorer do a search with the app name or a part of the package name.
If there are some files related to the app, delete them (but be sure it's related to this app...).
The only thing I have in /data folder is a log.txt file which contains one line that looks like (X for folders):
../../../X/X/X/X/X/ connect_ads_manager_android.cpp(29):AdsManager::adsmanager w(320) h(48)

Are you sure you follow the paths I have indicated?
The log.txt is related to scriptmanager if I'm not wrong.
The paths you mentioned don't exist in my /data folder.. (root path)
You are rooted?
In your file explorer have you an option like "Show hidden files / folders"? If yes activate it.
I am not rooted, I am using File Explorer and I've checked the "hidden files" option.
Where is the data folder located?

Were you trying to get an app for free? :/
The best thing to do would be a factory reset. That way, you'd have the peace of mind that there is no leftover files remaining on the phone.

Cracked apps are just paid apps most of the time that people try to get from places like aptoide. It will not hurt your phone just uninstall and you are good to go.

What I have downloaded is a free app that isn't available in the Play Store. Can I check that it has done nothing to my device? It would be a great relief.

Yeah if you must get advanced mobile care or an app like that from the market that checks for viruses and stuff like that

Advanced Mobile Care hasn't detected any virus or any app that collects my private data (besides the apps I normally use and know). Am I safe?

I don't think anyone can say with absolute certainty if you are safe. They can tell you steps to try to see if any remnants are left behind but that's about it. I personally think you should run the flash-all.bat file which comes with the stock image to wipe and clean everything.

1. Copy them (not the parent folder) to another file or off device
2. Reboot
3. Copy back to device original folder
4. Reboot

Rooted phone and can't remove FIDO app

Hi guys,
I rooted my phone (SGS4 SGH-I337M) using Odin and CF Auto Root method. Root was successful. I installed Titanium Backup and uninstalled the FIDO applications from my carrier but I can't remove it from the apps menu. I rebooted the apps were removed but the FIDO folder for some reason is still there and I can't remove it... how do I get rid of fido folder?
Have you tried removing the folder via root explorer?

You should be able to view them from data/app
If it was a system file you can view it from system/app

That is pretty bizarre. When you're in Titanium backup is there isn't visibility for fido any longer? Also try wiping the The cache.

Searching for Fido in Titanium Backup yields no results, all that is left is an empty Fido folder in Apps. Do you mean clear the cache in recovery?

there is apparently no app in the system/app folder for bluetooth, which i'm guessing is the problem
now where the heck do i find the 'replacement'? There is no bluetooth app in the market. sorry for not knowing exactly what to do
The system/app contains the bluetooth app, take a look
And if you are running 4.4.2 I can upload the apps for you

thanks, ive never sideloaded an app before so if you wouldnt mind....
do i download on computer? and then after I extract I take the APK and push it through? I can lookup this process but just wondering if this is the route i'm supposed to be going next
Download "ES File Explorer" then click on option button
Then scroll down and turn on Root Explorer
Then click on root explorer and choose Mount Option and change the /system to rw
Then download the apps & extract them
You can extract them on pc, then copy the apps to SD Card
From SD Card copy them to System/app

really thankful for your help
i did get those exact files into my sys/app folder
restarted the device and bluetooth still wont work...really frustrating. hard to believe the only way to fix this might be to get a completely different custom ROM and resetup my entire device, which will take hours and i'm sure it's just a matter of time before I have some other problem.
Any suggestions welcome
Sorry I forgot the most important thing
Keep pressing on any app in the /System/app
And click properties
And look to the permission of the app
then keep pressing on the Bluetooth app and click properties and click change the permission of the bluetooth app to Permissions like the previous app
Reboot

[Q] Clearing excess of junk files for updates

I'm in need of updating certain apps to my phone but can't because of insufficient storage. How can I and what can I delete to create this much needed space without deleting my important things?

Clear Cache files, Temporary files .
go to
/sdcard/DCIM
On DCIM turn on hidden items.
Now delete .tumbnails its more than 1GB file & its no uses.
Do you mean go to settings and the storage and click on cache and empty?

But that's the thing. I can't download anything else because of insufficient storage. That's what I'm trying to clear up so I can download my updates at least.
OK. I downloaded it. Thought I wasn't going to be able to though. But, those thumbnails are pics that I want. Will I erase those too? What exactly is a thumbnail or what am I really erasing?

Clean cache with CCleaner or Clean Master, it will free up a few hundred MBs, you can do it regularly (twice a week or something)

So, instead of downloading another app to clean, can es cleaner can do it since I already have it?
