Guys is there any random reboots like in CM11 in this ROM
Sent from my MI 3W
Any random reboots?
Hi, i want to try this ROM, does it have the random reboots like in CM11?
Looking forward on your reply! thank you in advance.
guys, all the aosp roms around here are based on cm11, that has random reboots. so all the aosp roms around here, of course have reboots. a few, a lot, but all have them until cm code is fixed. so please stop asking!
No random reboots so far for me in last 8 hrs..you need to do a clean install..use the gapps provided.try it by yourself because this ROM is really great...

I always do completely clean installs. and always use gapps 100% safe (minimal by banks, always used them with any custom roms with many different phones, with no problems at all).
and reboots sooner or later always appeared. a few, but they are present. please report update us with feedbacks in a longer time range (3-4 days) rather than a few hours. btw I will try this as well, and also CM of 18th of august that someone says is reboot proof (but in the past I am pretty sure I tested it and had reboots..)
how do you test if reboots appear in your phone? I mean, sometimes it is pretty difficult to notice that (if the reboots happen, as often in my case, when the phone is sleeping, when later you wake the phone up you don't notice it rebooted unless you have pin security or some monitoring apps!)
also, do you call often? no reboots during calls?
in my case, most of the reboots with aosp roms in mi3 happened during calls or when the phone was sleeping..
bye!
I will test longer period and let you know..I am confident that phone doesn't reboot when I sleep ...I can't prove that...starting morning till night 12.30 I use the phone a lot..today one thing I did different is I didn't put my phone in my pant pocket at all..I too had reboots during calls when I used cm11,mokee,carbon ROMs..but not in aicp and liquid smooth .I am an above average phone caller and receiver..anyways I will check for more time and let you know

thanks for the info my friend!
well, it would surprise me as they share same base, but if you are right and there are no reboots, that would be great!
btw I have just finished dowloading liquidsmooth, so I will try it very soon, thanks again
so far smooth .. best rom so far . and no recent app ? i cant close running app on the background because menu button not functioning ..
lot of roms for mi3 cool thank you developers

you must enable key actions in settings.
go to settings > navigation > HW buttons > enable custom actions
then you can assign the menu key the recents app
ps. trying it now, will report!
EDIT: wow! this and carbon are the only roms so far that have all the features I like (execpt for multiwindow). If this really doesn't reboot, it would be wonderful! will keep testing it and see if reboots appear or not!

You can add a custom action in notification toggle for recent apps..go to settings-Notification-Notification drawer-titles and layouts..
just had a reboot while in lockscreen ;(
so as expected, all aosp roms suffer the reboot problem, at least in my phone..
clean install, banks minimal gapps, restored my apps with app2zip....
now I could try without all my apps so it would be a real clean install, but then it would be difficult to deeply test the phone......
EDIT: just another reboot... just under my eyes when I was looking the phone! I guess I can just stay with miui until this is fixed in cm btw going to try cm11 of 18th of august now to see if it is really reboot free....
another problem: the volume panel is bugged.. no matter what I choose (expanded, expandable etc) most of the times I just see a single line with a single volume slider

Like i said no reboots so far:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:Try PA gaaps..Also dont restore your apps using any app..try to take back up of all required apps in ES file explorer..i know we need to test the rom in all possible ways but need to hold on until we find a fix.do you also wipe system 2 just in case for a clean install..i could not understand your point about volume panel..i will continue to test and report..

Spectacular I'm glad a lot of the ROM works. As for icon size, Slimkat likes toning down the UI size for elegance. I've grown attached to it
DPI is at 370, which is exactly what it's at on the Nexus 5
thanks! downloading now, will test the room this evening.

None yet, judging from user feedback, and no idea. I don't own the device, but decided to spend the last 2 nights (kept me awake for a bit) to build this

I wiped everything but the SD card (to keep the installation file at least on the device), but I got bootloop after flashing the ROM and the according gapps package to both partitions. My previous ROM was a stable, 4.3 based official MIUI, and I have a CWM 6.0.4.8 by furiel.
Any idea how it went wrong? Do I also need to wipe the SD card?

can you share a kmesg? I have a fair number of people saying theirs are fine, so i need to investigate any anomalies. just to make sure it's not the obvious candidate: is your device a cancro? try the cm in original android development just for sure, as it uses the same kernel.
Yes, it is a cancro, it is original, no doubt. I'll try to install an other CM-based ROM first, maybe I'll figure out something.
Do I need to wipe the SD card anyway?

Usually not....strange...Did the other users wipe their sd cards?
OK, I got it working. I wrote this earlier: "My previous ROM was a stable, 4.3 based official MIUI" - that was the problem. I flashed the latest 4.8.8 developer ROM, than the SlimKat, and voilá, it's working. Camera works, UI is very fast, there's plenty of free RAM.
For those who have not used slim roms before, to enable root, follow this simple guide:
http://slimroms.net/index.php/faq/slimbean/441-how-do-i-enable-root
Thus ROM is for mi3w snapdragon version right??

Yes
on a side note, can you guys use the Q/A Thread?
Wow I'm so happy this is so fast!! Currently I'm in a situation, I can't experiment with phone, but once I get out of it, I will be flashing Roms,
But I had no hope there will be a developer room! But I'm so really happy I couldn't help posting this, kudos to Op, you are simply awesome
So excited
Flashed the rom, using cwm with TDB enabled.
Flashing in system 2 doesn't work. Had to flash in system 1.
Wifi stuck at "Obtaining IP Address" - Anyone else? Any workaround?
**Changing the contents of /system/etc/wifi/ with the one in attached file fix my wifi**
Camera is working both still pics and video. Though video is by default set to 4k, had to change it before start recording.
Thanks for the awesome work. :good:
So guys there is not issue with sensors?? as in CM and Mokee rom?
camera and gps work, proximity sensor, auto brightness don't.

These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST 5.1.X COMPATIBLE RECOVERY.
Detailed instructions:
Going to EOS 5.1.X from another ROM:
Boot to recovery
BACKUP YOUR CURRENT SETUP!!!
Make a full wipe (Dalvik, Dalvik Cache, System, Data)
Flash the ROM
Flash optional kernel if you choose to not use provided kernel **We DO NOT support outside kernels**
Flash gapps
Reboot
Updating from an older EOS build to new EOS build:
You can usually skip the full wipe step and just wipe both caches. If ever you encounter an issue make sure you make a full wipe first before reporting it. This is what most call "Dirty Flashing". Normally this doesn't cause problems, but keep in mind a clean flash is always the best way to go.

- Permitted Call Recording
- There is a built-in file manager?
- Compass does not work well
- GPS I test tomorrow
- Exchange data works
- Synchronization in Google too
- Built-CM Theme Manager
- The overview apps need to 2x the home button
- NFC is occupied and the MI 4
- Offers 2G, 3G
Compass does not work in most mi3 ROMs as of now.
File manager will look into it.
U can change overview/recents settings in buttons.
F.Y.I the unique feature of this rom is a must try

About compass: On Rooque's OmniROM the compass is working exactly as it should (checked it with Google maps). May be you can have a look at his sources, that may help.
Cheers
Mobile data won't work at all, is it?
I will try this rom
Very nice ROM, full of features!! Congrats to the team.
Installed it last night, very smooth and snappy with the default kernel. No issues with phone calls, no SODs so far in 12 hours. Spent most of the night charging, plenty of deep sleep.
Could you just confirm which option to choose in Buttons/etc to call up the list of recent apps? I can see Last App in the list, but not Recents.

This ROM was created by none other than the great Martin Coulon (@martinusbe). This was created as a side project during his 'free' time while waiting for GZR's Validus & Tesla builds to update. Now if you are wondering why it is called Tipsy, you guessed it. He was actually somewhat drunk when he made it, and even now, most updates/fixes are done while happily intoxicated, thus keeping the Tipsy motto. It was initially done for the OnePlus One as a joke, however, the love for this ROM was so huge, it found it's way out. We just couldn't keep it to ourselves. Within a few days, it had spread like wildfire to a plethora of different devices.
Tipsy has a slim base, and only the useful and necessary stuff was added, including a few extra features to keep up with the competition out there. Tipsy fully supports Layers (RRO) and has the Layers manager app built-in. CM is kept to the barest minimum here, and is only added/used ONLY as needed.
I will try to keep this updated as much as possible, but if you feel like getting the info as it comes out along with some nice graphics, check it out here:

Great work @aniket.lamba
Flashed, for now, all works good .. more after some using
here is some ss :good:
About Navigation bar?
Hey those who have flashed this ROM, can you please tell me if the on screen navigation keys work and also can we disable the hardware capacitive keys?
I have seen that there is a toggle in the settings to turn the capacitive keys off but I want to ask if it works or not?
Thanks in advance.
Fantastic ROM, thanks a ton @aniket.lamba
Smooth and buttery... has all the necessary features I look for in a ROM. All my apps are working as it should after restoring using Titanium Backup...
The Security settings has some omissions and some quirks (not calling it bug because we can still live with it - particularly when you are tipsy )
1. One omission (at least for me), I always hide my password but the option is missing in the Security setting. Is it possible to enable it in any other way?
2. 'Quick unlock' option (again in Security setting) automatically disables even if you enable it once you come out of the settings (although the feature still continue to work even after it disables automatically).
3. The 'Automatically lock' value changes to after sleep even if you change it to a number (once you come out of the settings).
Till now only made one call. No SOD in that. I disabled Ambient display from Display Setting though. Will update about further on SOD after few calls/days.

It's working.
It worked automatically after sometime, I didn't touch any settings.
BTW thanks for providing varieties of roms. This rom is also nice, smooth, fluid and almost stable.
there is audio distortion in this rom..also in mokee....ANY SOLUTION GUYZ
If I changed DPI to other values other than 400, I can't install apps, eg Ampere.
Sometimes cannot detect SIM, need to turn on airplane mode, reboot to recover from this.
Have not test Google Map compass, Sygic navigation (Omni has issue), audio playback and on receiving calls screen off and when move away from ear whether screen can be turned on or not. Hopefully no SOD.
Thanks for bringing slim 5.1.1 to Mi3/4, I'm on Mi 4.
Edit 1:
1. Seems like there's gps issue with ROM. Even with compass zip flashed, although compass works in Google Maps, gps doesn't work. Tested on Sygic and Gps test Apps.

Thanx for the fix.
I have been using the ROM from yesterday ,till now no SOD . but once i got "No sim bug" after restarting(got it fixed after restarted phone again )
ROM looks so smooth ,performance is amazing .
Home hardware button was not working ,I had to manually copy the keyboard layout files from old tipsy build "atmmel-maxtouch.kl","gpio-keys.kl" & "synaptics_rmi4_i2c.kl" to fix the issue .
finally I am adding this ROM in the fav List
I think the same , and GPS no work on this amazing ROM !

Going to Try as it's just like EOS
AOSP + CM
My taste
So far its smooth. Gonna try it till tomorrow. Browser gives a FC for some odd reason. I will try reFlashing
Tried this rom. Here is my review.
First of all rom is super smooth. No lag at all. Added CM theme support is really good. But didn't understand why customization option are limited?? I couldn't even find network speed on status bar option. Lock screen customization options are missing. Also very customized tiles are there. Like aomeone said browser fc.
In future I expect original rom developer will add more and more customisations like carbon or dirty unicorn has. Also with OTA support it would be awesome (sorry for too many complaints but thought to highlight missing points).

Try the gapps provided by Vanir Team and see whether the AOSP Browser FC issue solves or not. Here is the link for it: Team Vanir Gapps
Download the file named "60arm-DHO-GAPPs.zip"
I saw it as a solution in their G+ community.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Edit: Yesterday night I tried to flash the ROM (25th Jan build) with different gapps including the Team Vanir one but all result in FC of the setup wizard.
Weird though...
On my end, either flashing the GApps at the first flashing or after the first boot resulted in Setup Wizard's FC, and it happens no matter which GApps did I used.
I used the latest nightly BTW.
I'll try wiping the caches again and report the result.
Edit: Yep. Still FC. Got any idea why this is happening?

I had a lot of issues flashing this ROM. First, is it only for standard system partition? Looking at the partition size/available space in TWRP, that's what it indicates...
With the setup wizard FCs, I think the ROM is missing a patch to set Gapps permissions (or should that be in Gapps package??)
Anyway, if you have the time & inclination, you can drag down settings and navigate to Settings/Apps/(select all apps then) Setup wizard/permissions, and switch all the permissions on.
The problem is that you have like 1/10 of a second before the next Setup Wizard FC notification, so it takes a while/you have to be very fast in order to get to the Setup Wizard´s permission screen.
Will there be a N update of Vanir Aosp rom? Just asking because i saw N7 Branch for Cancro too.
Well in case you haven't noticed,Vanir 7.1 nightlies are up! Following 7.1 releases,Vanir will use Substratum as it's default theme engine.Go get em' - http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/cancro

It's a ROM's internal built issue, it can never be solved like that, that's why I suggested you a similar alternative, try out the Pixel Extended (Official) ROM, its very similar and much stable.
This ROM is not just based in Pixel Extended ROM but a straight up cop-paste of PixelExtended (Official) Version 2.2 Build Date 28.12.2020
Even wallpapers are the same, not a single change in feature and performance, it's more of a downgrade if you chose to flash this unstable ROM instead of Official Pixel Extended one, lol
Too much copy-cat ROMs are really creating a time drain and confusion from us user's side, its really unnecessary to spam similar ROMs multiple times.

Please respect a dev's work and do not call it a copy/downgrade openly. If you find bugs report them with logs. Thrashing the rom for being a copy and comparing it with other roms is a disrespect to the developer.
Also this rom is in initial stages, do you expect it to have loads of customisation just in the beginning? Please have patience, things in roms change with time, They tend to start with basic features and increase them by time.
