Hi,
After using my phone after a workout I'm afraid I water/moist damaged the touch screen. The screen suddenly started to make touch inputs by itself and then I turned the phone of, removed the back cover to check for any liquid. I noticed that there unfortunately were some moist behind the back cover.
So I decided to leave the phone off without the back cover to hopefully dry up for about 24 hours. But when I turned the phone on again the touch screen was totally unresponsive. So I guess the moisture broke something in the screen (from my googling I'm suspecting the digitizer).
But my question is if anyone knows or is willing to check on their working phones what color the moisture indicator (not sure if there actually are two indicators on the D802??) on LG G2 is when it's indicating water damage? I'm guessing that it is red when there has been water on it but unfortunately I couldn't find any high quality pictures on Google showing the original color of the moisture indicator and the color of a indicator that has been exposed to water.
I'm planning on giving it a try to use my factory warrenty to have the screen replaced but if the moisture indicator clearly shows that there have been water involved, I might have to reconsider
Anyhow, I would be very happy if someone is willing to upload a picture of an untouched, non water damaged, moisture indicator(s).
Of course, if someone has any tips regarding why the screen is unresponsive, you're more than welcome to share
Thanks in advance!

Hi, this exact scenario happened to me a few weeks ago, when I answered a call while sweating profusely. In my case I noticed that all of a sudden I could not hear the person on the other side of the call so I plugged in my headset and completed the call. The speaker grill was just a bit wet, but the screen was covered in sweat, specially so on the area that now does not work.
Then I started noticing the screen started to fail on the now common horizontal zone on the upper part of the screen only.
I have not managed to make it work since. I guess a full screen replacement is at hand... But I'm waiting to get a smartwatch, so maybe the screen will come after that, if ever.
Cheers

Hi, ive experienced two issues with my Touch HD, one of them is that the phone calls get disconnected at a random time. I can talk for 5 minutes and suddenly the phone shuts down the call... And the other issue is with the screen, wich is demonstrated on the attached picture. It comes and goes, so its not persistant but it looks really bad on the screen when its there. The attached picture is coming from a Diamond, and it looks exactly like the problem I have on my Touch HD.
Can anyone confirm this and perhaps come up with a solution?
Thanks
Hello
If you have the protection foil adhesed to your screen it could definitely be that...
Consider that your device heats up when charging or while you do lot of stuff with it - hardware heats up and the glue or whatever it is comes off so your foil does the same
My friend had the foil on but got really fed with it so he just took it off and no more stuff like that on your screen...
If you do not have this foil it is probably a HW issue with your screen thus you should get it replaced - whole device of course....
hope I helped...
about random dropping the calls there are several discusiions around. just use search option!
hint:
try to change settings-phone-band-network type from auto to just gsm
3g is known as often drop the quality and maybe your phone try to switch from 3g to gsm.
if this is not the situation, look around, maybe someone found the solution
about the rainbow stain, could it be just moisture caused by moving from cold temperature to warm temperature?
is it still there if your phone is out in cold air? did you noticed if the stain is always there or it occurs only when the phone became hot?
if this is the situation, you have to remove the shield from screen and install it (or a new one) again but on a dry screen.
if you don't have a screen protector, then your problem is more complicated as the moisture is between your screen layers and can be changed only at a htc service center
I also read somwhere (forgot where) that the rainbow stain can be caused by pressure
yours is a very neat rectangle
does it always appear in the same place ?
when the pressure releases later it can then vanish
this is the link, it also explains how to solve the stain issue

Zesper, thanks for the link.. this is the issue with my Touch HD. Its now shipped for repair and I hope the warranty will cover it. The funny thing here is that the problem comes and goes.
Regarding the dropping calls, ill try with the switch to gsm, once its back again from repair.
Thanks
Dear All,
My phone fell in a water bowl, I picked it up and quickly took out the battery.
After sometime I dried my phone and inserted back the battery and turned the phone ON and its not starting it is only giving me White Screen.
As far as I think , the software is currupted. I think i will have to re-install my ROM
what do I do ? please help me with this.
Thanks.....
Raheel.
Ok,
I just started the phone again, it is now starting well, the Signal light is also blinking and the keyboard sensor is also working.
but the screen is still WHITE.
It is giving me white screen still. please help me with this...i have read other posts people say that the white screen appears when the cable is damaged ,but my cable is not damaged at all, it was all working fine untill i dipped it into the water.
one more observation, when i keep the phone on for about 2 minutes, some part of the screen becomes Black , while the rest is white.
Please please please help me ..................
It may have been fine before the water bowl incident, but it does not take much to upset the connection between D/Pad and screen.
Just a little moisture on the d/pad or on the contacts of the d/pad connector is enough to create a poor connection and that dampness can also start oxidisation of contacts all over the place.
You might be lucky in that if you leave it lying around for long enough in a dry atmosphere , one day it might start working ok. Otherwise it will need dismantling and cleaning of the d/pad board and disconnection, cleaning and reconnection of the connector.

Well, I can give you some advise. Just Try returning the Hermes to Stock Firmware, or Windows Mobile 6. If that doesn't work, i recommend just buying a used unlocked Hermes off ebay. You can get one for no more than $200
Hi,
Last night i spilled bear on my phone. I wiped it and turned it off as fast as possible.
Phone is working, but i think my backlight is messed up because almost whole screen is a dimmed a bit except the bottom right corner where its bright.
Did anyone have similiar problem?
Any ideas if this can be fixed or will the display die? Also is it safe to use phone now when its dried and everything?
Also my flat cable is sticky so i was wandering if it is safe to clean it with medicine alcohol(70%).
Thank you for you time!
Sincerely,
Tajcci
Wish you all the best
That's why your not supposed to operate machinery if you have a buzz on
Worst case scenario: you will have to replace the LCD display yourself, because warranty doesn't cover water damage
Ok..so i've been using my TMOUS Hd2 for sometime, but suddenley i see a scary brown patch on the white screen of my hd2..like a ghost looking at me..you know i mean..my question here ,is it a faulty lcd? or motherboard issue? or digitizer? but hey wait let me tell you everything works fine..the touch is perfect no screen lags,no freeze on screen..working flawless only when the phone pulls up white background like browser & start up screen "stick together" overall any white background the brown patch shows up..can anyone confirm this issue..any fix? Please let me know.. appreciate all the help..thanks much
Attaching the pic of brown patch ghost sitting inside my Hd2
if it is located around the middle, top half of the creen, it could be pressure related to an expanding battery. Does the patch get worse if you press on it? It seems illogical that a glass screen would be susceptible to newtonian pressure rings, but in the case of an expanding battery, when you press the screen, the pressure is actually coming from the back.
I've had like a dozen HD2's, and first noticed it when I used an aftermaket battery, which after a few months started getting thicker and thicker and I noticed the newtonian pressure rings. If that's the case with you, go back to the stock battery, or take out the battery door and try it again to see if problem goes away. If it goes away, you know it's time for another $3 ebay battery!
@ atlaswing did you actually check the screenshot attached? the brown patch is not just in the middle it's starting from the bottom and going upward..like a volcano eruption..u know i mean?..i haven't used aftermarket battery, but yes i did buy one to keep it handy..so i'm using the original battery, but well i see that the water damage sticker on the phone battery outlet inside it looks white so its not water damaged i still got void sticker on..so never opened for service, but yes the sticker on battery has turned lil pinkish white..not red to be called water damaged.probably moisture or kinda stuff, but my concern is what i said above ,its like a brown patch all around the white screen, which don't make any issues with the usage or touch or any hang or freeze
Anyone know if this is an issue with the digitizer or just the lcd screen?
I would lean towards lcd but would need device in hand to be more sure.
lcd has a plastic film on it so could be an issue with that ...
Hi all,
last week we had a really heavy rain and I was outside. As a precaution I put my phone out of my front pocket into my backpack only to realize that the backpack was filled with water when I came home.
The phone was swimming in water but still on and working but I had no equipment to open up the phone (damn T3) so I had to leave it powered on and put it in rice over night.
The next day when I tried to boot the phone the screen stayed off and you could see the liquid between the lcd and the digitizer.
I went to a local repair shop and they opened up the phone. I let it dry for some more days but the problem with the display remains.
I washed out the mainboards with iso and cleaned all corrosion I could see with a toothbrush but after replacing the screen it looks like the issue remains.
The phone makes sounds like it is working and giving notifications but the screen is just dead.
Do you have another Idead what I could do or do I need a new phone?
Thanks

I am in the exact same boat (almost literally)
I dropped mine into the toilet (how cliche) and it also worked for a few minutes, then eventually the screen went black. I see nobody responded to you here, may I ask what have you ended up doing with it? Replace screen? Get a new phone?
