hi
I have a touch pro and would love to change to the HD...IF the battery life on a touch HD is good enough.
I've read its good on 3G phone reception, but if I wanted just a phone I'd buy something cheap and small. I want to surf the web, watch movies, use tomtom.
Simple question; if the phone is charged to 100%, then I watch a movie lasting 2 hours, what will be left in the battery, if anything? I'm hoping someone with the HD already can help me
thanks to anyone who can answer this and apologies if its already been answered...I couldn't find it anywhere
Good question... I've not done that, but I have had it running with the wi-fi enabled for about an hour and 45 minutes whilst surfing the web and using the YouTube application. It didn't run down more than about 20 percent?

i got the device, charged the battery and played around with it for some hours. tested the gps watched the small movie which is on the HD some times, used opera an wlan, looked at weather and stocks and played around with the interface and programs some more. sending sms emails, and doign a call. with bluetooth
then i left it on my table from 23:30 to 9 in the morning, stood up and played around with it until 11.
battery status: 90%
Any chance there will be a 1500mAh battery for the HD? Or is there already one out there?

My guess is Mugen will provide one sooner or later.
wow! many thanks everyone. that sounds really positive
I did a little test of my own today. I left the Bluetooth, Data connection and Wi-Fi on whilst it played the 2 pre-loaded videos on repeat in Full Screen. The brightness was on default, the dimming backlight was disabled and the sound was at about 2%. I didn't have a way to check the percentage of the battery, so I just counted the bars. Fully charged, it has 10 bars.
After one hour of playing to itself, the battery had gone down to 8 pieces. After another half hour, it was down to 7 pieces. After a total of two hours after the repeat had been begun and everything turned on, it was still on 7 pieces. So yes, you can watch a 2 hour film, then blog about it, then call a mate on a video-call to chat about it before taking pictures of things that were around you as you watched!
A bit extreme, maybe, but it will last.
that's pretty nice battery life what kinda battery is in there account i wonder if that will be the same for a touch hd pro (i know i'm a dreamer)
i got it this morning, and kept using it WITHOUT recharging it up to now!

Thanks for the advice.
And does someone know if there will be a seller in switzerland/germany?
Or what such a battery could probably cost?

Nice...Can you Post pic of your Battery Usage
here you are...
Omg, that's awesome! Going to flash 2.3.5 now!
I've done some extensive tests before going to UV'ed kernel. I can say you can compare battery life at a highest CPU frequency, like 1200 MHz. You could play a game, like Angry Bird, for an hour, and see how much battery drains in that time. When I was in Stock kernel, after playing AB for 60 mins battery drained by 36-37%. When I switched to Ninphetamine 2.0.2, UV'ed with SetCPU, after playing for 80 mintues battery drain was 28%. I stop watched the results, and screen was on for constant time, and played with a Whiter background, sometimes I've to play same level again and again for that.
So one can do the same test to see if the newer Stock kernel really gotten better or not.

what exactly is it you're tryin' to tell us here? I don't exactly get it - except for the last sentence?
Yeh wtf man...
He's saying you need to make test conditions standard before comparison, for example sticking the phone on a white background for an hour and assessing drain.

I don't know any other writing language but English
Better battery, improved sound quality, and faster.
This version of the stock kernel is fantastic.
Props to Samsung for finally getting it right.
Looking forward to seeing what some of the best kernel tweakers can squeeze out of it with such a great base to work with.
damn guys i have flashed with some other kernel can anyone plz give me stock kernel ?

Hi I've recently just bought my Note 4 and coming from my iPhone 5 where the battery was terrible I'm just unsure if my battery is okay on my note. I have it rooted through chainfires custom rom and I read that sometimes roms can affect battery performance in a negative way and I hadn't had my phone long, a day if that before I rooted so I can't really compare stock battery to having the custom rom installed. I've posted pics of my battery performance and also I've noticed my battery drop 1% every 4-5 mins whilst growing the Internet through WiFi is this normal? I have done things already like turning off GPS, locations services , Bluetooth, voice search , Google voice and NFC ect also my brightness is set to auto. Any help would be very much appreciated thank you.
Everything looks just about fine. Enjoy your new phone :victory:

Thanks for clarifying I've just been obsessing over battery life because of my previous phone lol, also just to ask is the usage of the Android os and android system fine ? As when I've seen other people's they have been much lower. Thanks.

Yeah, I get more or less the same. You have a day with 5h SoT and 25% left, meaning you could get at least one more hour of screen. That's as good as it gets. You could probably improve even on that, but you would have to block some apps or functions, reduce luminosity etc. In my opinion, it's not worth it.

Hi S10+ owners,
My current screen resolution is FHD+. Wanted to change that to WQHD+.. before that wanted to ask you guys if anyone experiencing any noticeable battery drainage? especially when the phone is in idle state/screensaver mode?
Thanks

You should check your deep sleep percentagebif you are having a battery problems. Cause most of the time the s10 exynos does enter into deep sleep even while idle.
I easily get 10h+ Sot at 1440p.
I remember reading that running at fullhd+ will only give you about 30 min of extra battery life a day, I think the health of your eyes is more important, higher definition reduces eye strain and it definitely looks way better when gaming.
10 hours?
How do you manage that? I thought I was doing good with 7 or so. I have it WQHD with brightness set to just below the warning mark.
Anyways, the way I see it, if the resolution is there, I'm gonna use it. No point in having it not to use it. As long as my battery gets me through the day, which it has done easily since I got, with heavy use as well, then I'm happy.

I have very strict app management habits and whenever anything goes out of order it gets uninstalled forever.
The "worst" screenshot was taken at 17%, half the time on LTE and max brightness, the best was during a more relaxing day and ended at 3%
I'm going another full battery run today, 2h Sot and still at 88% battery so far, this time I uninstalled Nova and Sesame to see how OneUI Home stands against them.

Would you like an in depth guide on how to optimise this phone for battery life?
I was thinking about making one completely dedicated to this device, no generic android crap, there is a lot of potential.

Yeah I think you would get a lot of people interested in something like this. I am happy to get 5-7 hours of SOT, would be awesome to get even more. I have all my location settings turned off for every app basically so dunno where else to start really after that

I'll get working on that by end of this week
There's negligable battery difference between FHD and WQHD+. But there is definitely a difference in visual quality. You should definitely use WQHD+.
As for those who are saying they get x hours SOT. You can't compare with others. It's different for everyone. It depends on a massive number of factors. How good a cell reception you get, brightness, what you have enabled (wifi, bluetooth, NFC etc), AOD, what apps are running, what apps you use, what you use the phone for during the day, was the phone used for long period or intermittent use.
It's silly to ry to compare or match others. Just be happy with your own use, otherwise you'll spend more time trying to get more SOT, than you will just actually using and enjoying the phone.

I guess that depends on the quality of your connection. If your reception is not very good at home your radio might be really busy getting a proper signal.
