Is this Phone worth for 60$ , used but without a scratch on the screen , i want to get it to try out new rooms since i can use them in my old exhibit 4G , im also thinking of rooting this , is the battery bad as i think it is ??
Worth $60 if in perfect working order. need check all buttons especially volume & Radio/Wifi reception
If digitizer been replaced/device opened (broken void sticker on screw head) then needs good looking at.
Also need check no rebooting issues when cpu gets warm (BGA issues)
These devices are old & many been worked hard & flashed close to death so generally hard buy a worthwhile one but hopefully you have ...

The phone was never rooted nor flashed with a rom so it is 100% stock , i checked everything and it works fine , im only worried about battery , if i flash android (and i know android battery sucks) with better battery management would i be able to get 1 day with medium usage ???
If choose ROM & kernal wisely I would of thought so, power management in the Android custom rom's improved hugely.
May also be worth getting quality new battery as if original battery it maybe well below its best capacity ...
My original battery is starting show signs of age now & after 4 years I would expect capacity to be well below 1,000mAh.

hey all dumb question and yes I know there are tons of threads on this
but i want to find out just how common this is and also is there any correlation between touchscreens stopping and using android?
The reason I ask is because this will be the second HD2 I have sent back to tmobile
Thanks,
Yonu
ok here is a odd on i just placed the battery back in the HD2 and the touchscreen works should i still send it back in or not worry about it
Are you putting any stress to the front of the screen - like putting it in your pocket or have a case that may be too tight?
People here have been using Android for many months and we would have seen more posting of failed screens. Software should have no bearing on the touchscreen AT ALL. Heat may be another issue - possibly your phone or battery is getting super hot and may be causing a poorly soldered bridge to open up. This would be one theory and that would only mean you have a poorly constructed phone. I've been using Android daily for the past couple of months and my phone does have a tendency (based on battery widget) to run on the warm side around 40C during peak periods - phone on, etc. with GPS running but I don't think thats out of the norm because I think when running WINMO it ran at that temp during load.
If you are still under warranty or have insurance - send it back but first check your temps or maybe it could be a bad battery - bad power sometimes does strange things.
The interesting thing is that all the people with this problem seem to be T-mobile HD2 users, I would like to know if any Euro HD2 has this problem.
I had the problem on an EU HD2. Started a few weeks after installing android.
reflashed back to stock rom and returned it for repair and had no problems with that (until I broke the damned LCD screen
Been running it on android for 2 months now (Nand version - no WM at all) and had zero problems
I am thinking of selling it if it comes in a brand new box from Samsung. It was a manufacturer defect so I hope they won't send me a refurb. I just want to confirm if you guys are having the same issues I did as to gouge if I just had a bad sample or if the entire line has these issues.
Keep in mind I have spent tens of hours trying to correct these issues via various ROM's, Modems and Kernels, including KH3 which was the best.
My issues were as follows:
-Wifi can't connect at any McDonalds wifi. Works at starbucks, sometimes.
-4g/3g uploads always dip in the speedtest chart for 2 seconds then bumps right up
-Wifi sometimes says connected but doesn't actually work. Didn't happen too often.
-banding on the screen, blobs on screen in dark room/black image on screen.
-phone was warped, determined I just had a bad one as all the other ones at the store were perfectly flat.
-call volume extremely low even when using the secret code to bump it to 100%. my loaner phone a motorola droid is twice as loud as the s2. I can actually hear my girlfriend talk to me now and not have to say what? pardon? every 2 sentences.
-people can't hear me in calls if i'm talking in a low voice, like anyone would at the end of a long stressful work day. even with noise reduction off.
-stock rom has under 6 hours battery life under medium use, easily fixed with custom rom, but still it shouldn't be a necessity to void your warranty untill official firmware is released for your provider, just so you can use your phone for more than 6 hours.
-phone gets hot, can be solved by undervolting cpu/gpu.
Please confirm if you are also having these issues, to help me make a decision regarding what I should do when the phone comes back.
Cheers, Tony
I am getting none of those issues. Haven't tested McD's wifi, but every other hotspot worked fine for me so far.

Nope its flat

Nope fine but would not mind a bit more as standard .
-stock rom has under 6 hours battery life under medium use,
Nope stock about 20 hours on heavy use .
easily fixed with custom rom,
Custom rom makes little difference
but still it shouldn't be a necessity to void your warranty untill official firmware is released for your provider, j
Its your provider thats the slow path .
I would be quite happy to run the phone on stock rom and if i had the problems you posted phone would have been returned .

Looks like I might keep it after all, hoping for a better sample. Thanks for your help guys.
my vibrant that i purchaced was a fairly early model. The gps only worked with hacks provided here, and mods like MIUI had exceptionally bad battery life, 3 hours of heavy use to 6 hours standby(absolutely no use). My phone at the end of it's 1 year warrenty so i decided to send it in and see as so many people say that performance on gingerbread varies phone to phone.... i was not a believer till i got my phone back....
I flashed my phone back to stock 2.2 and as usual gps was non functional... sent it out to samsung and they replaced the pcb with what im guessing is a revised board...
upon getting it back, i flashed it back to MIUI and wow am i supprised....
before sending it out -
-gps crashed after each use...
-battery use was horriable
with new pcb-
-gps never crashes and gets lock very reliably
-same battery goes all day with heavy use.... even survied almost all day with 8 hours of music play...
i couldnt believe there was such a difference between the old pcb and the new one, but my vibrant is now competely usable with gingerbread!!!!
Vibrants are notorious for having different hardware. Also, they might have replaced the battery with a faulty one.

Indeed. When I purchased my second vibrant after my first was stolen, the exact opposite of what OP said, happened to me.

Hi Guys,
Hope of you experts can give me some tips because at this moment I can't afford to buy new phone so...
My Galaxy S5 is showing big issues to me, when its powered off and plug in to charger (wirelles DIY charging + and - to wireles charging pins on phone with using original Samsung charger, my charge port isn't working so this is my last resort, please don't judge me I simply can't afford new phone ) It bercomes really hot. Also when I power it on it becomes hot too (around 47celsius) and battery drains fast. In past I didn't have this problem, yes it was charging really slow but at the end when it reach 100% my battery lasts for two days (using greenify, and with all low settings) ...problems started two days ago. Bad thing is I can't connect it to Odin and make factory reset to stock rom so I wipe all and install fresh custom rom (XxX no limits, full debloated) from my SD card, but problem is not gone. I check out battery on my table and it is ok (also battery condition says: good).
What I can feel is not that battery is geting hot but cpu. So is there any chance to fix that? I already try several apps but with no luck
Maybe you guys can give me some tip like how to back to stock rom (and kernel) but with install from SD card as I can't acces Odin because of bad charging port....or any other tip is more than welcome as I can't afford new or used phone and S5 is still big thing for me according to its performance and other things...please help...
Thank You!
nobody?
Replace the god damn daughterboard with the microUSB 3 port. It will be better than going further with your stupid "wirelles" charging idea which can damage the phone. Don't be that cheap. Earn more money. Why did you buy it if you can't afford to keep it running?

Hi dear friend, tnx for your kind reply,
Well... I got 16yo, don't have adress (you never know who is on the other side of the line and whats the story behind) to even order it from your family. I got this S5 as a gift from my mother who pass away last year. After spending some time with this fabulous phone (yes, I open it and reasamble even without heat gun )...I menage to fix it.
Everyone of us got that courious technician inside and lucky to me I go to technician high school so I know the basics of safety...etc.
Now I got almost new S5 (battery lasts for almost two days) fixed all by myself wich proves power of the will and quality of components that Samsung puts inside their phones.
Long live Android, Samsung and all other open source runned phones...also want to say special tnx for one high reputable person from this forum (he insist to stay anonymous) who encourage me on private msg to keep investigation as I refuse to recive his old android phone.
Sometime you gotta (or need) do DIY. <3 XDA ...Keep it going! <3
Hi,
I have my Z5C since 2-3 years, and know I have to go for 2 option :
put new battery and a very fast & non drain battery
or buy a ZX1C .
so what do you think I must do ?
which rom choose to get a really speedy phone and with a low battery cosumption ?
actually I'm on rooted 6.01 marshmallow 32.2.a.0.224 stock firmware with exposed .. but all I have done trought exposed isn't as good that I would like (very hard to go with a good config)
initialy I get 0.0 % battery drain for 10h, but this work ONLY if screen doesn't wake up once.
so in real usage this config don't work .
thanks

If you can afford it, then buy the ZX1C. I dont know if its just me, but when any of my phones gets tampered with, it never comes back thesame.
Yeha I may find it around 200€ if I'm Lucky, I wouln't buy it New.
I can do à z5c "New" for 50€
And don't think the gain worth it
I went for the XZ1c and do not regret it. Also it's still supported by sony with latest security patches
