[Q] Root a S4 i9506 LTE Sweden - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a:
Samsung Galaxy GT-i9506 LTE
Android 4.4.2
KOT94H.I9506XXUCNG3
I have tried to root my phone with:
TowelRoot
Kingo Root
Srs Root
..and no success!
So I'm wondering what to use instead? Have a PC with Windows 8.1. Don't have any custom ROM either.

Does it matter if you got Knox 0x1?

This is what I got from The Odin Mode in my phone:
Knox Kernel lock: 0x0
knox warranty void: 0x0
Qualcomm secureboot: enable
RP Swrev: s1, t1, r1, a1, p1
Write protection: Enable

So you got 0x0, with 0x1 your warranty is void, does this matter to you or not?

Well not generally. In some way I need to void the warranty anyway. Love to even give my phone a new software so it can work better.

Solved it with: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597058

You can not say that 0x1 voids your warranty. It depends entirely in which country you live.

Preparing phone to go to Samsung Repair Center (Tripped Knox)

I manually installed the latest Samsung ROM (4.4.2).
I have also rooted the device.
Therefore, I believe I may have tripped Knox.
My phone needs a repair by a Samsung Repair Center.
What can I do to wipe as much of the evidence as possible?

You can start downloadmode and see if your knox flag is 0x1. If so, there's no way to set it back to 0x0. But in many countries, you can use your warranty also with knox 0x1.

Current Binary: Custom (it's not custom, it's Samsung's latest ROM but I flashed it using Odin)
System Status: Official
Knox Kernal Lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30

So there's no chance to get back to knox 0x0. But as I see you're from the UK, samsung has to repair your phone under warranty I think.

[Q] Odin shows official status - No OTA

Hi,
I just flashed 5.0 (N9005XXUGBOD3 - Not Rooted) via Odin from rooted 4.4.1.
Odin Mode now shows:
Product Name: SM-N9005
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Reactivation Lock: Off
Knox Warranty Void: 0x1 (0) - I know this cannot be changed, I used to run CM
Qualcomm Secure Boot: Enable (CSB)
RP SWREV: S2, T2, R2, A3, P3
Secure Download: Enable
UDC Start
But Settings > General > About Device > Status shows Custom and I cannot get OTA.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

It is matched as far as I can tell. I cannot link you to a picture properly yet due to not having 10 posts.

No, it's not. BTU is United Kingdom code country. And the latest firmware 5.0 is this ONE. Do you have installed it?
Hi,
I already had this installed but re-flashed using your link just in case - I still have the same issue
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You have no SM-G900F, you have an SM-G900P.
So just download and flash an appropriate firmware.
