It is possible to do anything. If only a dev has the motivation to do so.
Also...anyone can be a tester, but what proves you're a qualified candidate compared to others? Sounds to me like you just want something done for you.
I was tester for two devs too.
This was only for Custom Roms.
Maybe other people would the LG G3 Software too and can be tester. This was only a offer from my side.

Is it possible to port LG's custom UI to the Nexus 4 after the LGOG after it receives an update to 4.2? (this is just a a question, so please don't flame about why stock Android is better)

It is probably possible. It is probably even possible to port the LGOG's rom to the Nexus 4 right now even though it is ICS. To my knowledge capable of running ICS means capable of running JB.
But like you said, most people that have this phone are Android purists. And more importantly, the developers would more than likely be Android purists.

I would only port the battery and power management options from the optimus G (AKA ECO Mode). That would be worth the time and the effort.
why would you want to ruin your phone? the whole reason for a nexus is for a pure Google experience. if you like the LG UI then get an Optimus G
Reliant on the LG Optimus G getting a 4.2 update? Resurrect this project in 2014 then

I assume you don't even read the body of the post. Besides, the Nexus 4 is a lot cheaper for the same hardware and the ability to load a variety of roms is a plus, even if I choose to load an LG UI rom.

Hey everyone, I was hoping someone could tell me which phone to use as a base to port from? I know phones with closest hardware are ideal. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What is it that you want to port ?
When using source code to port, hardware similarity doesn't really matter that much.
However N4 has official support from the major ROM devs and that makes it a really good base.
Anybody else checking the android development section daily in hope of an AOSP/CM ROM?

Actually, I check every 3 hours or so... :good:
I'm wondering if this phone will ever get official CM support. CyanogenMod said they wouldn't support the S4 when it came out because Samsung is stingy with sources. Now it's official but the i9500 (Exynos version) still has problems with the camera, Bluetooth and audio. I don't know CyanogenMod's position on the S5, but I doubt that the situation with it is any better than with the S4.

... and if the "leak" of the S5 GPE screenshots (google it) are a real indicator, it's just a matter of time and above all, patience for non-touchwiz roms...

I keep seeing [CWM Advanced Edition] and quickly assuming that it's some variation on CM haha. 3rd time now!
Hell yeah, well, I'm hoping for OmniROM on the S5, that's what I am running on my S3 at the moment and its perfect for me.
Only reason I haven't got an S5 yet is cos of my hatred of TouchWiz.

Whats going on dev Community! i was just wondering if any devs is interested in building a port from the nexus 5 to work with the LG G2? I love the LG G2 but i miss the gpe roms from the s4. Is there any way it could be ported?

Build from source, add a few of your own unique mods in and make it different to all the other ROMs
Usual thing really, which you know about from the s3 days
